This was a great video, I would have loved if it was slowed down more and showing more details and preferably the whole track. U didn't mention the beautiful harbour at ballynacargy and coolnahay that u passed through.
Yes you would be right. Though there are some pubs/restaurants along the way and then garages close by. It depends when you need one if you’re lucky or not!
Hi there I am planning to take this route during /end of the summer as part of a cycle ( parkwest to Carrick on Shannon ) I have gravel bike 40mm tyres , I also have a set of 28mm Road tyres which I could put on , Just looking for a bit of advice on which tyre would be suitable? also how long did it take you?
Hi, I’d probably go with the 28mm given that you will be on the road before and after the greenway. They will be more than adequate especially if you get a good days weather wise. It took me 5hrs, around 23.5km per hour. Sound like a great ride, enjoy! 👍
Definitely get away with road bikes. Though gravel would be a bit more comfortable in parts. My battery died so couldn’t capture any more footage of the journey home. We had booked two places for the bikes but they were taken by others when we got on. Don’t matter too much as we got seats close to them then the other people got off and we were able to secure ours. It was a nice and easy option to get back.
I brought my own food so I only stopped for coffee and water. The were a few places that came up in Mullingar when I googled vegan food just in case we wanted to stop off for lunch. The Wholesome Kitchen and Belly cafe seemingly have nice vegan options but I haven’t tried them yet. Enjoy the cycle if you get to do it 😊.
Looked like a really nice cycle, Im traveling down this weekend to cycle part of it with my wife, hopefully the rain will stay away.
I hope you get good weather and enjoy the journey.
Great video guys really helpful to see it as I am going to do it soon .. thanks again paddy 🙏🚴

@@martymartin2894 Thanks for your comment 👍
lovely video and seems like a great cycle way but would I be right in saying there is a lack of restrooms, do you have to leave the cycleway. ☺

Is is easier to cycle on this Greenway or cycle the same route on the road
Was waiting til the end to see how you got home. No bother with bikes on the train? Gravel bike needed or can you get away with a road bike?

Any recommendations for vegan food along the way?

Would need a good juicy steak for a journey like that.
