    Why are people complaining. Hasn't black metal always been about doing to opposite of what everyone wants you to do?

    • @spyros5000

      That. Also, they don't even label themselves as black metal (anymore, at least)

      it souds like death metal, but they performing symphonic black metal, cause they have the orchresta and the seregor's thin voice for a black metal singer
      it's my opinion greetings from hispan-metalhead

    • @julienavelange3960
      @julienavelange3960 7 лет назад +2

      People are complaining because they feel like giving their advice. Also black metal isn't really about doing the opposite of what everyone wants you to do, it's more about doing the most violent sounding music, not giving a fuck about production quality ( Which is totally different than not giving a fuck about musical quality).
      You suggest that people complaining about a black metal album makes it even more black metallish, but in that case bands like Cradle of Filth would be ranking quite high in black metal spirit, at least in that criteria, eventhough we all know that it is certainly not the case

    The lyrics sound juvenile on purpose I think. This is supposed to be a demented FAIRY TALE. Last time I checked, fairy tales were written in a much more simplistic manor. This band has proven before that they can write very elegant lyrics in the past. It's all about the vibe you guys.

  • @Zeheroth69

    Yes it is a completely different story setting, yes it is more guitar driven then other albums but it fits perfectly what the story tells. For me till now this would be my favourite song. I suggest people to listen and get into the lyrics/story and live up to the sound it portraits..those who listen music like that know what i mean. Fantastic work, great guitar work and amazing symphonic tunes.
    Greetings from Schinnen

    Carach Angren is an amazing band and so far I'm missing the atmosphere they had in their previous albums, "Lammendam" and "Death Came Through A Phantom Ship" especially had some great melodic tunes... I can appreciate that they are dealing with "real life" issues and I'm sure the album is going to be awesome... its not bad... just... different

    Snobs in the comments be like:
    "These lyrics are forced... Meh!"
    "This isn't trve black metal...nyeh!"
    "This sucks that sucks everything sucks!"
    So yea I guess the only good black metal is something that was recorded with a sock and has a vocalist who, instead of singing lyrics, just coughs rhythmically... Good to know:)

    • @nmd-453
      @nmd-453 9 лет назад

      I don't really even listen to much black metal these days, and when I do it's usually symphonic or not-kvlt ones like Dimmu Borgir and Xanthochroid. I don't think the lyrics are particularly well thought out in places. Some parts are good, but other parts feel like they've written the lyrics before the music and then not adjusted them to go with the rhythm of the accompaniment they made for it.

    • @azrael666ethereal
      @azrael666ethereal 9 лет назад +7

      noobsmustdie453 It's not supposed to go with the rhythm... some of the vocal parts are simply narration to the story.

      noobsmustdie453 Glad i could have been some help. In their past albums they have dealt with text in a lyrical/musical way but on this one they have been a bit more loose with the text. If you read some of the lyrics they don't even sound lyrical but more grammatical like sentences out of a book. That's how I see and deal with this album anyway.

    Ok, I have the answer to the lyric comments.
    I have listened to all the songs currently released from this album (There's No Place...., Killed and Served....., and now this). I have also listened to all 3 of CA's albums.
    Is it not because maybe this story is set in more modern times, and that's why their lyrics are not "verily we musteth burneth them at thy stake" and such?
    That's my theory, maybe they're using more up-to-date (as it were) lyrics?

    People got real judgement on this band real quick. I don't get it personally, CA is keeping it fresh if you ask me. How would people react if it was a "same thing different album " as with so many other bands? Honestly I think most people can't handle these lyrics because they are unsettling and shit like this is extremely hard to deal with.

      Haha right? Sadly there are a lot of such families around these days... Alcoholic fathers beating their children and wives, who just befall depression and commit suicide... children are given no education, no one to be inspired by when they're still young... They are only inspired by depression and negligence and usually do the same as their parents, either drink over the limit or commit suicide. That's the reality sadly. There are some of whom actually make a life out of them, but most of the time I don't think that's the case. And Carach Angren has a great sense of introducing such things to us. Like the title of the album says: "This Is No Fairytale". Cheers!

    But I think that CA have evolved beyond writing mere songs. Reading these lyrics along to the song makes me feel like I'm reading a book and the music is like my thoughts or something, and now with the visual aspects..

    Honestly I think people are saying the lyrics are forced is because the guitar melody during the verses is really oddly timed. So it feels and sounds extremely forced due to the lyrics not "fitting" the melody right. However I think that's kind of intentional, so I don't hold it against the song. I still like it a lot, can't wait to pre-order it when I get paid this week!

    Best black metal album ever written. Seriously. So intense, so terrifying... I was seriously in shock when it finished. Couldn't listen to anything for an entire hour after it. The lyrics are incredible. The fact that they were more realistic in their approach, telling about horrors of the real world instead of all those ghost things made it a lot more terrifying to me. Domestic violence, rape, abuse, murder, insanity, those are all things that we can see in any newspaper. That made the lyrics a lot more powerful to me. And the music itself fit perfectly with the lyrics. The beginning of this song, for example, you can really feel the despair of those abused and traumatized children trying to escape the mad life they were living. Really powerful stuff.

    Can understand why some people don't like it but personally, this is one of the best new bands in black metal right now, I'm seriously enjoying the songwriting here, like a horror story as much as a song.

    How the fuck can people say the "lyrics placement" is terrible? Are you guys fucking serious? This album is AMAZING AS FUCK, a masterpiece alonge with all their other albuns. Seriously, people will always find reasons to say shit about someone else's work, even if they have to make up one.

    Fucking dark.
    Not sure why people don't like the lyrics, I thought they conjured up a great feel of confusion and despair.

      Every album has its own storyline. This album is about an abusive family. So yeah, each song is a part 2 of each other.

    This is honestly one of the most disturbing things I have ever listened to, it's a good job I love the feeling of shock! I'm obsessed with this album, but I don't have anyone to share the love of it with since I don't know anyone who'd like this type of story

    Many critics are pointing towards the lyrics. Hänsel and Gretel is a german fairytale by the brothers grimm. Maybe the lyrics reflecting or considering this? I like them! Second thing: Can someone (Season of Mist employee) explain why this video isnt available in Germany like the other?

    I don't know, its different being guitar driven but I still enjoy it though.Not as good as the first three maybe but I believe this album will grow on me and Ill consider it as good as them.I feel like the lyrics placement works unlike other people have said.
