As a shreddage 3 hydra, I can confirm this is how we work
XD

Is there a way to turn off the added guitar noise? Like, In between chug breakdowns I get fret noise and stuff. I've searched everywhere and can't seem to figure out how to clear all that up. Thank you.
@@Clammiest Why do you want to remove it ? It just makes it more realistic.
@@theultimategamertr2353 Maybe not 100 percent but tone it back. It honestly just makes it sound messy during choppy parts.

YAAAAAAYYYY Thank you Impact Soundworks!!!! This is awesome!
Yes! Killer sound, great preset tones! I was waiting for this one. I have the Serpent. This is gone be an awesome addition!
Is this or amplesound better ?
This a great tool for folk who just want to compose. People put too much focus on performance, when writing is just as integral a part of music. It's not cheating if it was never the goal in the first place.
Example
=
Stan Lee
This is an invaluable tool. I'm using it to compose during traveling. It's much easier to carry a 25-key midi keyboard in the backpack than a real guitar.
Composing is the actual brilliant part of every song/piece. Performance is mainly skill and practice, composing on the other hand requires creativity/ vast knowledge about theory (Assuming the composition is extremely novel). It's like the difference between an architect and a brick layer.
although performing can be creative in some instances, as in jazz or any improv-heavy music. But again, improvisation is at its core, also a form of composing.
interesting thought. my mind and fingers often want to do different things. i have an idea but when i get to my guitar, ,i end up with something else mostly as a result of my hands just doing what they do
@@hamzailarzeg The absolute masters are the ones who compose and perform at expert levels.
So my 1st review of the Shreddage 3 Hydra. It is an amazing tool that comes with waaaaay more samples and sounds than I could ever possibly need or use. It's amazing in fact that the team put this library together and for only $149. I've had a few hours to play with it before reading the manual and I've figured out a few things that got fairly impressive results. Fast forward to reading the manual (I probably should have done that 1st) and I see that everything I needed to know was laid out clearly. I have had a great deal of trouble getting my GR-55 pick up to control the library, but I'll keep working on it. Overall I think that Jupiter would have been a good fit for the music that I do and the way that write for simplicity's sake but I don't regret for a second paying the same price for SO MUCH MORE!!
Just bought this absolute monster and it's worth every single penny
This is freaking cool!
one of the best guitar plugin it is just looks so reall
This thing is fkn fantastic, bought it because of this video.
Hell yes!!!! I been using Rogue and Serpent atm!
Wow great! Might get!
Tear of the Goddess cover. Nice.
Seems like this would work well in the track I'm currently working on, so I guess I gotta get it!
I love the "Rake" sound from this new engine, it really puts emphasis to a tone when needed. Shreddage is the king in terms of brutal tones and aggressive playing, period! However, the slide legato is still(since the day of Shreddage 1 & 2) a pain in the ass to trigger, we need to set the correct hand position and string for it to be achieved (let alone setting up the fast or slow slide, if there are any way to do it), it's too complicated. I wish we can trigger the articulation as easy as OTS, or Prominy.
You don't need any special positioning to trigger slides. By default, just hold the slide keyswitch and then play overlapping notes, that's it! It will always slide regardless of hand position. If you want to slide DOWN from a note to open string, there's a dedicated slide note underneath the playable range. Plus you can map the slide trigger to whatever you want (velocity based, CC, etc) so you don't have to use keyswitches at all if you don't want.
Thank you
So this is what I’m talking about. I shall make new music with this kind of software that’s so amazing 🤩
Oh yes, finally!
I love your music dude

Hello, have you tried to control this vst with a midi guitar or any software that converts audio to midi? (That can also register palm mutes.) thanks
AYO THE OPENING WAS TEAR OF THE GODDESS BY PENTAKILL WOOOOOO
I NEED THIS
Badass!
Oh I like this
Nice!! Palm mutes seem to sound so much better than Serpent!
Got it :), how do I add .midi files to it as the Kontakt player doesn't let that happen? Maybe I just have trouble adding it to my DAW lol.
Was gonna buy Jupiter and stratus you reckon this would be better?
It sounds so nasty great job guys
Hello :), can anyone tell what program the midi editor is? at the 3.13 mark, (green bars) is this within the shreddage? like how you can control the velocity and so on there.
can you play with the mouse courser directly on the neck like the ample metal hellrazer?
good job
YES
Are you able to record like in the video by purchasing it? Or is that a different software?
please, are the notes written directly in the piano roll? (sorry to my english)
WHY I DONT GET ANY HAMMER-ONS EVEN THOUGH ITS ACTIVATED AND IM OVERLAPPING NOTES ?
Hi , i just bought Shreddage 3 Rogue some weeks ago, but do you know why Velocity Response doesn't work? pls answer im so sad..
You can adjust velocity sensitivity on the Articulations tab.
Is there a way to download this VST (or any other) directly or do I really have to install another "downloader"?
Can I download it through Native Access since it requires KONTAKT to run?
It's not possible to download it through Native Access, only authorize it. But Pulse is for more than just ISW instruments. It is used by dozens of developers to download and update instruments, INCLUDING stuff other than Kontakt Player products.
Hi, can the amp/cab sim sounds be used with my own guitar DI?
Is there a version of this without having to have Kontakt? I have Logic Pro
No, but this runs in Kontakt Player, which is free and works great in Logic!
at 8.00 how can I do to repeat the start note in that way?
Really enjoyed watching this. So much so that I bought the guitar. Really fun. However some questions. Your setup for the Modern Metal 1, (8:12) is different. I have tried all of the settings I see here and the sound is still different. I noticed yours has a really cool stop between notes where as the one I have, just continues the tremolo with no stops (changing tremolo does not fix this). Also it would be fantastic if you could make the midi notes for this available. It could really help to answer a lot of questions. Thanks!
They use amp simulators that are not stock shreddage tones and all the demos are probably eq and mixed to perfection
@@qpl3xofficial Unfortunate if true.
NEVER go by the audio demos on any VST websites (or even the tutorials by the developer in this case). You will never know which plugins are used or how many professionals contributed to the demo.
so many low tuned guitars to choose from 😵: Cabal 8, Evolution Dracus, RealEight, Ample Metal Hellrazer and now Shreddage Hydra. honestly I want them all. I will wait for RealEight 5 to be released though.
Don't forget the Odin 2. That's probably the best I think.
Solemn tones is the shit
Realeight 5 isn't on the planning any more.. :(
Where can we get these FLP files to learn better from?
Take my money!!
yeah i finally arrive
For the longest time, I've always had trouble getting Slides to work. Could you briefly explain the technique applicable to Shreddage 3?
i had the same problem, until frustratingly i tried to crank the velocity up. i think they might be related, try going 70% for the first note and above 50% for the second
I just tested it at a friends studio, but I can't reproduce a nice distorted Sound like at 2:03 .. It sounds good clean, but how did you get it distorted like this? I tried several Effects in the Console without success ..
It all depends on the amp setup you use. That particular demo uses NeuralDSP Archetype Nolly. But any of the "Modern Metal" presets or "Entombed" are a really good place to start in terms of built-in amps.
Это родные эффекты и перегрузки?
Please im begging you can i get the guitar setting for the heavy guitar? I only copied the settings from the main tab, but the guitar doesnt sound the same. I used the same notes and same velocity for each note. Please give me some help... also i used the Modern Metal 1 snapshot.
Please message our support and include the MIDI you're using - we'll try to help!
Is there any kind of chart of which velocity range is which articulation? Like say, 10-35 is palm mutes, 36-70 is open notes and so on...
You can look at the Articulations tab to see the default mapping, but this can be changed to anything you want. The default is 1-54 mutes, 55-127 sustains, with 117-127 adding a rake in front of the note.
Do i have to randomize midi to make it doesn't sound fake?
How do we turn off some strings while playing back midi?
How do you choose the tuning ?
Zircon did it again!
This is the only reason why i would buy kontakt
Kontakt has a terrible UI which is far too fiddly, but the stuff for it sounds great.
When using it in FL Studio, do I really just need the free Kontakt player to use Hydra in my DAW? I'm a bit confused because other Shreddage 3 versions definitely need the full Version of Kontakt.
All Shreddage 3 instruments are compatible with the free Kontakt Player!
I work on a lot of cinematic music, would hydra work for me for more ambient emotional passages? or would another impact library work better for me?
Hydra can work well for that, but you might also look at our new Telos!
Cool
Can I play this software with a midi guitar or a normal guitar with jam origin 2? Thanks
Yep it should be possible. Contact our support for more details.
Where can i buy those drums from ?
My question is this... I see and hear the dual multi track guitar sound. But I can’t figure out how to have them out putting to two separate channels so that I can pan them Left and Right.
Any help or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🤟🏻💀🤟🏻
When you double-track in a single patch (guitars 1+2 active) it already pans hard left and right! If you want totally different FX on each, the best solution here is to load the patch twice. Set them both to the same MIDI channel but separate Kontakt outputs. Then you can mix the outputs separately in your DAW. The first patch should have only guitar 1 active, second patch should have only guitar2.
@@zirconst I’m going to try these methods today. Thank you!
Does anyone know how to get it into fl studio? I bought it but can’t seem to use it I’m piano roll and can only open it in kontakt
DUDE WHAT DRUMS WERE YOU USING??
So I bought this and I am trying to figure out how to use it. What "carrier" apps do I need to make this usable? I currently own Ableton and have Kontakt 7 but can't figure out how to actually start "using" this.
Sorry for being a newb.
You've already got everything you need between Ableton and Kontakt 7! 🙂 Here's a tutorial that should help get things up and running: support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210313445-How-to-Insert-Native-Instruments-Plug-ins-in-Ableton-Live

Shit, I might need to buy this! I have Jupiter and I like it (: might get this one too tho
Is that Shreddage drums during the riff around 10:20?
I believe that's GetGoodDrums Invasion.
Awesome demo! Would it be possible to use a guitar as a controller? If so, how would you go about that? Cheers!
You would need a MIDI guitar or a guitar with MIDI pickups, such as the Fishman Tripleplay.
@@zirconst thx! I'm actually consider getting EZBass, as it's got an audio tracking function that converts it to midi, it's pretty impressive
can you please send me that remix of perimeter?
it is soooo good
Dude this is S!CK AF! NEED ASAP!!!
How do you switch from Mute to Sustain?
I believe there are a set of notes toward the bottom of the keys that tell the program what kind of note to play, they don't make any sound, but they act as switches.
How do I add it to fl studio
Can this also be used as a six string for 80s rock sounds? dose it have presets for six string sounds?
For 80s rock, we would probably recommend Shreddage 3 Stratus over Hydra.
@@ImpactSoundworksLLC Ok thanks just trying to find something that will cover both in one package. Will you be having a easter sale coming up
So, maybe I'm not sure of how. But I wish I could turn down or off the string noise after the notes for some very clean stacatto.
This is easy to change. Click the TACT (Articulation Setup) tab. Click the third bubble in the upper right to go to the 3rd page. Then decrease the volume knobs for the [REL] articulations.
it's finally here
now we wait for shreddage drop E bass
@@emilandersen8628 abyss is drop a
Abyss sounds really good when I pitch shift it down an octave in Konkakt. I use the Slappy Bass preset to get a pick sound and I use the Staccato key latch for fast sections. It still sounds jank when imitating fast tremelo picking.
I also use a default Abyss in unison on top and a synth bass underneath to bring up the root notes and destroy peoples ears with that F#0 rumble.
2:08 can someone tell me what synth stab does this part use, i have been searching for this sound for months now
its a pluck, literally just a lowpass on a saw wave lmfao
if it helps, it's probalby something like FL Studio's Sakura vst. I just placed the DLL in my Ableton's vst folder and it works perfectly.

Does it already have the guitars doubled and panned?
That is an optional feature on the main page using the multi-tracking feature. You can use a single guitar with a mono signal, or double-track with hard L/R outputs, or up to quad-track.
Where I can hear this awesome track (started 0:47) ?
Check out the Hydra product page, look for "Perimeter" in the SoundCloud player. impactsoundworks.com/product/shreddage-3-hydra/
It's one of the demo songs in the product page.
That FEATURE the pick attack! I think you need to update all your libraries with that...is one of the MOST IMPORTANT things to achieve a REAL sound not "keyboardish" in single notes, specially on the high notes when the "virtual guitar" is more perceptible... that's so cool! please make it for the rest... Jupiter still is one of the BEST guitars that you have but lacks of this
We added Pick Attack to all earlier S3 guitars :)
@@zirconst Really! Awesome!
Do you need to buy kontakt to use it?
Nope! Shreddage 3 Hydra works in the FREE Kontakt Player.
So just to be sure, all the guitar tones are built in? They aren't separate tones like the way Odin 2 does it?
It has over 30 built in tone snapshots and 30+ FX you can use. Of course you can *also* use external tones if you want!
@@zirconst Thank you kindly
How to download
Is there a way to get DIs out of this thing?
It was recorded DI so that's the default!
Does anyone know how to make it so shreddage will play any 2 (or multiple) notes as a chord? For example, if I play 2 single notes back and fourth on the piano roll overlapping each other, it won't always register them like a chord. It plays them like 2 separate single notes. But I want them to play back like 2 notes playing over each other like a chord. It works sometimes, but rarely and it's random. Thank you for the help!
This happens because the engine is trying to figure out whether you want to do a quick hammer-on/pull-off, or a chord. It can also happen if it's not physically possible to play those two notes simultaneously.
One solution is that you can go to the Articulations tab, go to Legato (Hammer/Pull), and change the "Range" from 2 semitones to 1.
You could also go to the "Map" tab of Legato (Hammer/Pull), add a new "Rule", and pick a keyswitch. That way the hammer/pull legato will only trigger while HOLDING that keyswitch AND overlapping notes.
Another is to switch to "Workstation" mode from the Performance Style menu.
@@ImpactSoundworksLLC Thank you so much for your speedy reply! 😊 I will try these thank you!
@@ImpactSoundworksLLC I feel like such a newb. I tried everything to the best of what I could understand. Still not quite working or maybe I'm just not doing it properly. It's not a huge deal but I definitely wish I understood better. It's certain chord patterns I'll put in and the "godzilla" chords that I can't get to work. Sounds dumb I know I'm sorry. I don't use them straight up very often but sometimes in the midst of a melodic chord part for a chorus, they bring that dark feel to something which I love. So whenever those parts play, it sounds silly not "chorded" lol.
Now it's time to think in another METAL BASS....Make a DINGWALL!!! XD
4:15 This riff reminds me of the chorus from ‘Death Incarnate’ by Eleine 👀
its only for kontakt ? can i use it with out any nonsense kontakts etc ?

What is the difference beteeen this and Serpent (already have it)? Heavier pickups and low notes?
Completely different guitar and pickups! Hydra is 8 strings, Serpent is 7. Hydra has two pickup positions (which you can blend between), Serpent has just 1. Hydra's pickups are Fishman Fluence which have way longer sustain time, lower noise, and better clarity. Also, Hydra has a few more articulations included.
Anybody know that intro song?
"Tear of the Goddess" by Pentakill, but it's a cover Nabeel Ansari did featuring the vocalist Jenn Sakura.
How do you get rid of that unwanted noise that comes up randomly in between two muted notes or at the end of staccato power chords?
It's adding noise similar to when you move hands across the strings. It happens when you chose Modern Metal.
For some reason it's very loud.
Any chance there is some way to make it go away or make it quieter?
These are the release noises; you can turn them down on the TACT (Articulations) tab. They're on the 2nd/3rd pages (change pages by clicking the dots in the upper right of that tab)
