Don't wear your baseball cap in the greenhouse if you want to keep cool, bcuz if heat don't escape from your head the rest of your body will get hot and sweaty. LOVE your new greenhouse !! 🤠🐴
My husband and I can’t wait for your videos to come out on RUclips. We have loved watching your family and kids grow. We also love that you are a Godly family. Best program to watch by far. Question, would you all be willing to have visitors visit your place and see all your wonderful ideas and livestock? This would be such a blessing to us to see other off grid people and how they live. Keep up the great work😁
We bought two acres when we were in our mid 20's. We gardened heavy and milked goats. Also raised beef and meat chickens, bought pork. We canned and had a 31 cubic ft freezer. I used to tell people the only thing we went to town for was toilet paper and light bulbs. Over the years with change of employment, larger property and commercial crops we've gotten away from basics. Currently trying to start over with small and intensive gardening at 80 yrs old. Gene & Gloria
I remember Granny lifting me up to look over the kitchen door into the yard after the goat had her kids. That's my first memory of animals. I was maybe 4 years old.
I have to tell you that your daughter is one heck of a farmer. You two are raising hard working and respectful children. God bless you all. Mike from Maine
I grew up farming moved away when i was young and when i turned 60 went back to farming and now off grid as well i love your videos they inspire a old man jusy down the road from yall in upstate south carolina.
Hi Mike and Lacy.. hope you soon get to build your ither Yurk.. a suggestion is to mount both Yurts on opposing side and build a common area ( living dining kitchen and tv room) between both
I had a pet indoor rabbit that destroyed a room. She went outside and i started researching how to keep rabbits. I fell down a deep deep permiculture and homesteading rabbit hole lol pun intended 😅
It was a hard task, but y’all really accomplished it! I would just suggest that you roll the plastic up outwardly instead of inwardly as you’ll have less damage to the plants. Maybe even move it outwards about 8” to 12” avoiding the plants altogether. You all are such a beautiful hardworking family! Sending love and blessings ❤️🙏🏼
My mom & Papa taught me how to do some canning when I was a kid and we also had a big garden and chickens/ducks. So when I became an adult I jyst knew a garden needed to always be in my yard. Now I have 6 laying hens and 1 rabbit.
I feel you pain. I had to do this very thing last year. But, I knew better from the year before (my first tomato year) when I did not trellis at all. It was so hard to harvest and I lost so much fruit that year. The school of hard knocks is such a good motivator for repentance.
I started out with a garden when I was still in college. Next I learned about canning, both water bath and pressure. I was finally able to realize my dream with a 6 acre homestead with not only a huge area of raised beds, but also chickens, rabbits and Nigerian Dwarf goats. At 71 years old and a decreasing health status, I have been forced to move with relatives into a suburban setting.... disappointing, but life goes on.
Planting one yellow pear tomato plant, in a little bedding nook that was sheltered from the weather and grew over 10 feet tall, got me wanting to Homestead. Well, ithat and picking, then canning my first strawberry jamv! You guys did a great job on the tomatoes, they look amazing now!
Hello there FIT Farmer . There is young family that built their home on their homestead and they are really really struggling trying to stop their food plants from dying . Maybe you and your family can take a trip to their homestead and help them get their garden under control . They are SUPER NICE AND ARE WILLING TO LEARN. The dad's Name is Charlow Kush and they live in Kenya Africa but they keep reaching out for help from anyone and everyone trying to grow their grass as well as their vegetables . They Especially need help with their very rich too thick soils. They are really trying but with little to no success . Please take that trip to Kenya a d show that young family how to make a homestead work. Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU ALL
You are awesome… especially working as a family! Beautiful homestead! Question… when you build the other yurt, will you be putting skylights for more natural lighting?
We were the "city relatives". Grandfolks had gotten old & grandpa ill (i mean late 70-90). Grandma always had backyard garden. I loved visiting family. When i was 10 we bought land, 2 yrs later we built & moved. Yay. We did much bigger garden & dad let me do poultry (starting 3 chicks from city ppls boo boos thinking easter birds were cool), then 2 ducks. Then!!!!! I worked on ppls ranches & farms for extra $$. Married a farm boy & started small place with goats... Later we moved up. Tragedy, divorce & later my accidents, im back to watching vids. But i know quit a lot, if well i could do soooo much
I just wanted to say thank you for sharing the Mett Naturals link for the Recovery creme. I bought a jar and have been using it for the past 6 days. It has helped relieve the pain in both my thumb joint, my big toe joints and my other toes and bad knee. I have been able to more comfortably knit again and while my feet are not back to normal, at least I am not having the pain that makes them feel like they are on fire. It takes such a small amount as the creme is so thick and rich and absorbs quickly without leaving an oily residue. I timed it last night to see how long it took before the pain starts to ease and it was 5:30 minutes. Now out to the garden for an early morning check to see if things are drying out enough to try and finish planting my garden.
We love Mett Naturals and are glad that you do too! So many companies approach us about promoting products but we are so picky about who we work with because we want to make sure products work before we share about them.
Did you save the cuttings to root? I do, and they tend to outproduce the mother plant. Plus they extend your tomato season. My best was 4 seasons of "succession" planting in one year. I just kept rooting the plants in plain rainwater, no growth hormones at all. [Yup, You did. I generally leave mine in the water until they have established roots because it is very hot here in the summers.]
It does not look like you have the clips pinched onto the strings. It is a cool feature so that they don’t move on the string. Look at them closely. It pinches the string before it goes around the tomato stalk.
Just a thought if y'all are having trouble to get your other Yurt up instead why don't y'all just get a prefab house much easier and probably easier to get approved. Many blessings
Bootstrap Farmer has everything you need for your garden.

I would be nervous about over pruning and killing the plant. You and your family are doing a great job . Hard workers.
It is really hard to kill them by pruning. Tomatoes are hardy.
I love the greenhouse! ❤ You did a fantastic job on the new wall in the greenhouse! The ventilation is a game changer!
Love it, thank you for the video ❤ Best explanation of cutting suckers off tomato’s I’ve ever heard Lacey - thanks so much
I had a small city garden too, started with the two basics :🍅&🌶s

Trip to Kenya Africa? Are you kidding? What makes you think he and his family can afford both the trip and to leave his plants alone?! 🙄
There is a scam with that. Don't be tricked.
You are doing a great job gardening ! We love watching you work .
Hot work but rewarding. After!!
It’s all looking so good! Love how those tomatoes are strung up there. We have to do something to ours too..
You are awesome… especially working as a family! Beautiful homestead! Question… when you build the other yurt, will you be putting skylights for more natural lighting?
