Had that happen to me twice at the zombie tower of tickets game. I get all but one letter, and then a crowd people rush the game for the final letter and steal the top prize after I did all the work. :(
Oof my heart; not on this game but the ring claw I had worked the jackpot ring for 35 minutes went to refil my card and got back to some punk teenager dropping it into the prize box
Many years ago, when the first iPod which looked like a iPhone came out, I won two iPods using this exact same trick! Just looking at the belt and the washer instead of guessing if your scissor is aligned right. Ever since, I've not seen these machines on our annual carnival again, which made me think more people used this trick...

I won my nephew a POP he collects them and it was my best win ever...he was telling me it was a pretty rare one. He was so happy with it! I think that got me extra Best auntie points 😀💕 hes my arcade partner in crime.

I'm glad you're giving these tips because now I know just how unfair these machines are.
The weight of the prize also figures into how many cuts. The Funko Pops are very light and therefore have very little downward pull. The more the prize weighs the Quicker it frays !
Also sharpness of blade and thickness of string
so that's why the bigger prize boxes are empty..
Yeah when something is under more tension the razor slices like butter better
This looks very difficult but exciting to play. I'd love to try it out sometime.
It takes a lot of practice lining up the scissors but once u get it down it's just a matter of being persistent.

It’s a game of persistence.
How to win 100% legally:
Buy your own machine and train intensively at home until you become pro. Then resell the machine and go win all the prizes in your state.
Time yourself while playing I did one I would count to 3 really fast and let go. Won a 4ft yoshi and 3ft Mario. I must say the first win I won within like 5 cuts. The 2nd took me a little longer cause they actually changed the rope thickness on me still won it tho. It was for my daughter birthday had to win it lol she walked out with plush toys bigger then her😂😂😂

You win by not spending dozens and dozens of credits on rigged carnival or arcade games and just buying the cheap candy or Chinese stuffed animal yourself
Wowee, 18 cuts (not including any off camera cuts)? Either the rope is way too thick, or the scissors are too dull and need sharpening. Probably the latter, given how it is designed to go past the prize if it isn't ready to pay out.
At 50 cents per play, that's $9 (not including any off camera attempts). So I reckon Matt spent about $10 to get it, which seems kinda steep. :(
You’d have a heart attack if you came to Australia if you think 50cents a game is steep , they’re $2.80 here.

Are the scissors supposed to be in line or is one side tilted , what i mean is you see that the cutter is to clamps that come together , are those to peices supposed to be in cimetry or one higher than the other?

There's one of these at our local movie theater. It just has the one really big stuffy of some character. I just pushed the button but didnt know if I did it wrong or not.
I have a barber cut near my house that i have won first try multiple times because they sharpen the blade so dang much!

That blade is clearly faulty. I played 2 major prize cutting machines today and won both and it only took one cut on the string, on each.

Now I am so interested in what's going on behind the scenes in these kind of machines. I kind of want to know how the strength of the cut is determined and how the cut is actually done.
The owners manual for it has a like that says "The number of plays required before a prize can be dispensed is set individually for Price A, Prize B, and Prize C" It's set by the arcade owner and if they wanted to they could make it so it never actually ends

These games that decide when to pay out like this and keymaster that are based on how many times they have been played are scams and should be banned.
It's a house always wins scenario. It will always be profitable for the arcade because it costs way more to win than what the prize costs.
But I guess they do the same thing with ticket prizes too. You almost never pay less to win the tickets that what the prize you get is actually worth unless you only play skill based games and you are a god. lol

This is the only arcade game that took some skill that I ever won. It was on a cruise ship in the arcade. They had a pair of beats headphones. I spent maybe $40-$50 bc the blade is so dull. But it was super cool and I felt like I accomplished something😂 I was maybe 10. They weren’t the huge beat studios but they were the solos from the 09-10 which sold for $150-$200. I used them until they broke. It was super cool. Still have the box😂 Had to get my dad and take it to the casino on the ship to get the actual reward. Was a pretty cool experience though.

This is a great video. It's nice to know how to play the Barber Cut games 'cause it's so hard when people don't know how to play it. I didn't know how to play it until this video. This is a game that probably misses out on a lot of money 'cause word has gotten out that it's almost impossible to win unless the person playing is very skilled or lucky. So even before there being arcade videos online, this game was and still is considered too hard and very rigged. I guess a lot of them aren't that rigged. Now more people will probably play this game when more people watch this video or any other Barber Cut tips videos. This video probably got people interested in playing this game which will probably make this game more money instead of it being ignored and having old and not worth getting prizes 'cause the prizes were in the game for way too long 'cause almost no one plays the game to be able to win the prizes. Which is a loss for the arcade as well.

I played this once here in the UK and the machine was full of Disney teddy’s. I’m sure there was something wrong with it as I cleared the whole machine one after the other first time every time! I had 3 very happy kids
