I really like my RD88, and it's great that Roland are offering original users the option of adding the EX upgrade with the new Supernatural piano sounds. I'll certainly be updating my much loved RD88.
Hey Adam B. I just love the way you demoed the RD-88 ex and you're delivery. reminds me of Bob Ross! " Maybe there's a little pitch bend, just living over here. Just hanging out, bothering no one." LOL Ya might want to try your hand at doing psychic readings over the phone, you'll make a lot of money!!

It seems that the main difference is a few extra piano patches, mainly based on one new sample/model. In the UK/Europe, the difference in price between an RD-88 and an RD-88 EX is currently about 50% extra for the latter. I guess that suppliers are trying to sell off the RD-88 stock quickly. At £855 it's a good buy IMO.
There used to be an RD250 with 76 keys. If there were an RD76, I would buy it immediately. I have a P-121, which is good enough for light gigging, but an RD76 would be a dream. I avoid taking an 88 to gigs.

Thank you. So I have a first perception of the instrument. Today I played on RD 88 and the sound of piano was great. Now I will wait for the EX.

Is it worth the upgrade if you own a RD-88?, what would the difference between them, only the sounds?
Here is a link to the upgrade, with more info about it.

I wonder how it compares to the old RD88 and the RD08 (which I own)

Roland is getting reaaaaaally comfortable. way too comfortable...
I like to wear my sweats and slippers when I'm home! So what's wrong enjoying a little comfort?
Did they fix the limited polyphony in the RD88 ex?
