Your video was helpful in setting my gps. It was also great in showing me how to solder, which I'll be forever grateful. That being said, i spent 3 hours trying to make it work. Bigdigglers comment was so helpful about ports so i thought i figured it out. However, it wasn't untill i checked the description part of your video after rewatching the video 5 times and saw R1 to T,T1 to R. In the video around 6min30sec you say T to T and R to R. Maybe your meaning was different than my interpretation. Thanks for the video, no other videos are this hands on.

Do you have to connect the Pavo to betaflight and wait for the gps to be working before connecting the battery and everything else EACH time you fly? Or just for the initial setup?
Good informative video. Were you able to get your Pavo20 actually flying with good GPS satellite count & lock? Can you get position hold hover and return-to-home working?
Have not gotten the return home working yet. The battery life is so short on this drone. You want to lock in the GPS before flight.. Plug usbc into computer When GPS load then plug in the battery. Hopes this helps...

So I've been having some issues with my GPS. The OSD only partially works. After rewatching your video again I noticed at 6min 48sec while your hooked up to betaflight, I can see the GPS icon is lit up on your screen. Mine isn't. The GPS works, it seems as though my settings are messed up. Any thoughts on the matter.
Thanks for the terrific video! Two quick questions. Does it help stabilize the drone like other DJI drones or does it just help you locate home? And also where did you mount it on the unit itself as I did not see it clearly. Thx

@ I updated 4.5.1 before gps installed in my pavo20 now it’s flying better than before and gps rescue also working as expected, after gps installed we can’t able to update firmware, since gps wire soldered, maybe you can try to update stock firmware 4.4.1 in your board with gps soldered, you may get an error, then remove gps and try it will work.

And with all this done now you need to mount the gps in a place away from electrical interference for the gps to work right and you need to copper shield the gps wires also, thats if you want your gps to work correctly if you dont do all that forget about installing a gps becuase you are taking a chance of losing your drone or smashing it to the ground.

I see you getting better at soldering. I have a question about why you would put GPS on a small drone? You are not going to fly a small drone out of sight. It just ads unnecessary weight. Im just saying but really no advantage to having GPS on such a small drone that even if you wanted to fly long distance your limited by the battery size.
Hey.... Happy Holidays.. Hope all is well.. Great to hear from you.. GPS works well when flying near the woods that can be dense and will give one an idea and indication of the drone location when being 10 - 15 feet from where they are standing... Creates a better geo caching experience. Also the solder projects on the channel are stepping stones to help the beginner level up when planning to do the motor upgrade for the dji avata.. As a beginner I'd do the small solder projects before doing the Axisflying Motor Upgrade.... It's soooo challenging but rewarding in the end..
