bro i think I played against him in ranked the other day he was 1800mmr and used the octane with the hexed decal. He was doing like triple resets and crazy air dribbles and I remember it clearly.

I'm happy Novel got a spotlight, I've always loved his stuff. Ever since Nytro started making montages, i stumbled upon one of the first ones in my recommended, and was amazed by how good the team was at the time. I was able to see the team grow and Novel with it. Without a doubt Novel is the best freestyler and even though i stopped freestyling a while ago, I hope to see Novel continue to improve and get the recognition he deserves

I have to say: this is the guy who really got me into freestyling. I have always loved these shuffles and jump reset goals the most, even when they aren't really considered "meta" and no one I knew would go for them let alone pass for them. This guy was one of my main inspirations to keep playing. I would sometimes have a video of his open in a web browser tab and spend hours tabbing back and fourth just to try to learn so etching he did, like the ceiling switch. Thanks so much Novel, you're the best ❤️

I wish he was more active, even years later he’s still probably the one of the most creative and over all best freestylers ever. Nobody will ever be as far ahead of everyone in skill as this man was years ago. He was truly a god amongst boys at his peak.
I honestly feel like he transformed the 1s freestyle scene for the worse tho, I feel like freestylers these days seek so many mechanics in their shots that they just become long and boring. They are really just chasing this man, but nobody will ever catch him, he reads the game so much better than anybody, freestylers these days make one mistake and the shot is over, it’s like he doesn’t make mistakes, every “bad” touch just creates a different shot for him. this might be a bad take but I truly believe he’s the most naturally blessed freestyler ever

Novel will never stop to impress me. This must have taken so many hours to gain this type of insane control. I have basically wall freestyled in my entire freestyle career (since 2016) and im still garbage compared to this insanity. Guess i got some improving to do :>

You can argue that he is the best Freestyler but I don’t think we can call him the best player overall since he’s Freestyling, not playing competitive.

Kinda old bug popularized by rizzo. Basically you press jump when youre about to go up the wall i think. Now they fixed it so its not possible anymore
You can still do it now if you wave dash power slide. It’s just not as affective. It would be cool if he did it into a wall dash

I used to not like Novel because I only saw the rebound resets in 2s and thought that's only what he was capable of. Got in a fight with people for that and I decided to watch his vids till the end now... Yeah, my opinion on him changed there, and this vid pretty much confirms me that I missed on a lot of things by ignoring his talent. Awesome player with amazing skills and a great creativity.

Who’d wanna see a 4-video series, every episode dedicated to clips just from each of the 1 extra mode playlists?
Like a rumble montage, dropshot montage, snow day montage, and hoops montage?
There are no good rumble dropshot, rumble or snowday plays that are worth dedicating a while video to imo. I think there are some impressive clips but wouldn’t be great as a video. Hoops is better but still wouldn’t want it as a full video. It’s cool to see some of the really good clips in extra modes sprinkled in
The amount of hours novel reached to get to this level is the highest in the whole rocket league community. It's basically equivalent to living in the rocket league world
