Jason you did the best thing for that young colt. He will make you a hand instead of a problem..
Lesson of the day. DONT MESS WITH JASON!.A TEXAN...OR YOU WILL BE GELDED!
I know having a stallion can be dangerous but dang he is surely a built and gorgeous guy ♥️
I can 't see why YT had a problem whit it? That is how it's done, and more important, without hurting the animal, and with respect for the beautiful animal. I agree he will be better of now and have a better life for his self and all his friends that are gonna work him? Keep up the good work! 👍🇧🇪 (Belgium Europe)
I think you should explain to people how to avoid cutting the colt ‘proud’ and what to do if a blood clot forms.
Really enjoy your videos. Thank you!!!!!!
Much oblige enjoyed again
I came here for horses but I love the wide variety of subjects you cover. Thank you for sharing all of the awesome things you do !
Another great video Jason keep them coming please
This is a good video of real working life on ranch. Let RUclips get stuffed if they don’t like it
Great video again , and thank you for sharing your awesome life with your fans. Love the colt's name. Congrats to the winner of the coin. My family is looking forward to the next one!
RUclips finally approved! Another great video!
That was one of the best alterations I have seen. Great job. Love how you were so attentive to the colts experience.
Very interesting video today! Keep them coming !
Great job Jason!
Glad RUclips finally let it post .. good video he got some brain surgery beeter to have a nice gelding you can enjoy there lots of stallion's out there a person can always breed to them in my opinion them 1000--4500 stud fees are a bargain as a person doesn't have to house and feed a stud ..
Great name. Looking forward to watching him mature. Hi to Bonnie.
As usual, Thank you for a fabulous video!!
I absolutely LOVE the way you take the time to explain your theories. I hope you know how much you advance the horse world with common sense. Tell Bonnie I said hey!! Love yall! Mean it!
One of the best informative videos I've seen. Your method is excellent. Don't worry about RUclips, please carry on x
Nice job , professional, and to the point.
Sooo....yeah. I was just puttering around and noticed I had an unwatched video from the Mendota Ranch. This video! Never got the notification. Not surprising, but just wanted to say. YTube can't be having actual educational videos being broadcast, it doesn't fit their agenda.
Anyhow, he IS looking good! He seems like a sweetie, so don't blame you for curbing those studdy tendencies early on. Keep him sweet and focused on his job! The name is real nice too, Congrats to the winner!
That was a funny story about the 8th grade boys, bet they all remember it just like Luke does!😆Now, grown 30yr old men still remember what Mr. Abraham taught them that day😂Job Done.
I bet they do remember that 😁. I don’t think RUclips likes me
I remember Helicopter Horseman. Lived in Wylie back then. Nut adjustments are necessary❤❤❤
So glad your videos is back! Love the horse stuff. P.S GOD BLESS TEXAS!
Super video! And the stories were hilarious. That's a really nice horse, good mind on that one.
Good technique! Thats the way we do it!
My preferred horse is a gelding. They are well mannered, easy keeper, and just a pleasure to ride.
Great video so interesting to watch. Good to see Luke again.
Thank you Jason!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge J.A. If you ever need an assistant or helper it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for a person to learn about everything you know.
Glad RUclips finally came to there senses, great video !
That “crunch” gets me every time!
Great looking horse. Loved the stories 😂
Love the name ! ❤️
Good knowledge. Thanks for sharing
Your videos are very interesting. Good job. That is a beautiful horse.👍👍
Keep up the great videos
Thanks for sharing this. It was very interesting.
Thanks for sharing your methods.
Most really good stallions. Make absolutely fantastic geldings.
Jason been around allot of Cowboys that say 'Yeah i am a horse trainer and most of them didn't know one thing about trainin a horse most of them were Gunsels!!!!. I can say you are the best that i have ever seen. As far as the way you train, teach The way you read a horse, etc.. Great job Jason for sure.
Thanks
Great video love the name you picked.
Thanks for sharing
I’ve always liked those types of bits for young horses. They lay over their tongue and jaw without a lot pinch on the jaw. Brain surgery will hopefully calm his sassy ass down a little. The “crunch” has always irked me!! LOL!!
I always learn something new when I watch your videos, so thank you for the hard work. I really like the story about the eighth grade boys. I have a sixteen year old daughter so my plan for scaring the boys is to get a mason jar and put a couple of calf bearings in it the next time my uncle cuts calves. I’ll fill it with formaldehyde, show it to any boys that may come around and ask them if they would like to meet the boys who messed with my daughter.
I still remember when a mare took a big bite out of my back. That hurt.
Great learning video
Great Vet lesson.
I got bit by a mare in the same spot while pulling up the girth, she copped one just behind the nostril then looked at me as if to say " what was that for?". No broken bones though ;)
The old timers told me a good stud makes a great gelding
Love it good job
Excellent name for your now gelding.
awesome .
My husband and I breed/train Reiners and just got into breeding for the cowhorse. We’ve got a 3yo filly by Platinum Vintage out of a Genuine Doc daughter that will be a future cowhorse broodmare for us. I also have a mare by Like A Diamond out of a Royal Silver King daughter who just had her first cowhorse colt this year. I’ve done all aspects of breeding, but you never stop learning, so I really appreciate your videos and seeing how you do things around your ranch. Cheers 🍻
P.s. Your 2yo colt is built REAL nice 😮💨
Thanks
Excellent presentation, What would be interesting to know how you introduced anesthesia (drug and dosage per weight) and then what was the second drug you administered (dosage and per weight). Seems the anesthesia was very effective no pain sensation of the horse during the surgery to take the testicles out. Wonder that youtube does not like that presentation. One of the best I have seen in horse castration, in particular the anesthesia. Personally had used the henderson clamp with an electric drill.
I gelded my fifteen year old stud, he’s being a great gelding beautiful horse but had my barn help bullied.
Did the bite do any damage? You make everything look so easy.
Just a sore
🤣 noted.. don’t bite you 😂
We used to turn the cut colt out with the mules cuz they'd keep him moving to lessen the swelling .
Dang!!! You do a better job than a veterinarian 😂😂😂
Last year in the movie Cat Ballou LOL
Good job. I was involved in a castrate won time on a Race horse and we didnt do it half is good as you did. Friggin Roped him tied him down and castrated him. Only one and last one. Is was fun. Good job for sure Jason.
Do you try to castrate your horses a little bit older so their growth plates fuse at the proper time, & still have the hormones to tell them what to do, & when to do it?
Do you notice a difference in your animals if you wait a little bit longer?
Thank you for the video.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you too, for having the tenacity to deal with RUclips and their ridiculous censorship! I'm glad it's back up & they came to their senses.
It just amazes me the things they want to censor & the things that they let go through. That seems to be everywhere in the world right now not just RUclips.
Is the cow decoy on a remote or is someone else assisting?
Really a nice name for your horse, are you going to call him MP? I kinda like ole sleepy foot lol
Gelding - the kindest thing you can do for them!
Outstanding as usual. Is the tossing of the ball barring for real ?
No
🤣🤣🤣🤣
SO what exactly about this video did youtube not like? Did you guys have to alter original video in order for them to allow it
No. Just protest
Dang! I said Mendota play girl!!! Maybe next time!
I’m full of shit, but my name was better! 😅
I bet he regrets biting you lol lol😂
what is your preferred drug combination and dosage for this procedure?
Xylazine and ketamine
We have 28 yearlings and are about to castrate them this is a whole lot smoother than stretching them. Thank you awesome video.
U. Bet !
👍🏼🇨🇱
I’ve heard the term “proud cut” is that any different than a normal castration? Great video btw
This man should have explained that if the epididymitis is not removed correctly then the horse will be cut ‘proud’ ….a disaster.
It takes about 6 weeks for the testoterne to get out of his system
Hows he doing now ? No biting anymore ?
No biting. He’s doing great
Is there any reason why you don’t do the castration when they are new born like they do on bull calf? Wondering.👍❤️🇨🇦
😅you are alright
Well darn that means you didn’t like my name
17:25 MP - CD's Mendota Playboy, BN: MP by Scott Henry.
He's not going to forgive you for removing the Nuts . He's a BEAUTIFUL animal good luck with him. Videos are great Thanks.
Do u Not need to suture or at least Super Glue the sack?
It needs to drain
/How long does it take for that Testosterone to slow on down after you cut them is it Instant or no?
About a week
@@themendotaranch So id imagine that little bit of semin that you said you can get out after is why they say to keep them away from the mares for x amount of time just like they do with dogs.
No Rocky Mountain oysters for dinner?
No. Never had equine oysters
Excellent! Do you ever knock their wolf teeth out when you castrate? Thanks,
I do Sometimes they are not in yet
What is the purpose for a bit?
That is how i guide the horse along with my my butt, legs and foot
Waiting for my 2 and a half year old to drop. What are my chances he ever will at this age?
They should have dropped
That colt will grow more his quarters are high.
Check his mouth as I once saw a horse's mouth lacerated by a twisted mouthpiece.
Do you ever keep the nuts and eat them ?
No
Sorry if you hate me now but I need therapy 12:30
Have you ever thought of collecting max?
Yes but I don’t of any deer in the pens
