I can't thank you enough for this. I've tried playing Vermintide 2 with my buddy, but we're overwhelmed over what to focus on and how to actually play the game efficiently, especially for the gears. Hi guys! Thank you so much for your awesome support. I was thinking that I could do more guides for this game. To be specific, I would like to make guides for each individual class in this game. Where I would show some gameplay and tactics for that class and again showed some of my recommended weapons and talents for them. I could make something like a series for this topic. You can suggest the first classes I will be making guides on right here. With that being said thank you again and I will see you in Legend.
One thing I will say is that stamina management is extremely important when blocking, especially when it comes to berserker enemies. In the video, the guy’s using Saltzpyre’s Witch Hunter Captain career, which negates stamina loss from blocking normal attacks from the front. Extremely useful, but something to keep in mind when using certain low-stamina weapons on other careers/characters. Usually if you have a lower stamina weapon, you’re going to want to dodge more and use the block as a safety net for when you’re caught off guard or in a bad spot. There are some exceptions, especially with Kerillian, but that’s usually how it goes.
The game is currently free to keep on Steam, until Nov 7th; I had a blast with it but felt like I needed some tips; this video was really helpful, thank you very much! _May Sigmar Bless You!_

thanks a lot bud for making this video, i played a bit like a year ago and now coming back, I was looking for all the guides i saw last time, but now this video has all the info needed :)
Hey nice video in general but I would add a few things: The Chaos Spawn has 2 Versions of the grab attack 1 where it bites you and heals and 1 where it slams you into the ground and throws you Also the Stormfiend is easy as long as it is only 1 and you didn't mention, that the flamethrowers ignite the floor in its direction so Stormfiends can be quite annoying (harder) if there is not a lot of space Aswell as the Attacks that go through block on a non shielded weapon can be fully blocked with a shielded weapon. Another thing is that the strength of your push is afaik also dependant on your weapon. Also for newer Players I'd recommend Stamina Regeneration as 2nd Property on the Trinkets cause they will get hit more often than veteran players. So giving them a faster regeneration to do more pushes / block more attacks seems more consistent than 5% additional crit chance (which you should normally not even rely on dmg wise but ofc more crits are nice if you have swift slaying on your melee weapon) Also I think it is a good mention that if someone on the team plays Sister of the Thorn you'll also get healed for more because of her passive +25% Healing for everyone (also effects THP generation) which would mean 100% of your missing HP with a medkit and 93,75 HP with a healing draught (93,75 should always round up to 94 tho). Lastly the weapon recommendations: The Billhook DLC weapon is also a great option for WHC (witch hunter captain) Sry for the wall of text, anyway have a great day and again nice video for the community! :D
Man tagging is one of the MOST important things in the game, you can use it to tag things extremely far away, its useful to check loot places for items and potions and being able to tag troublesome enemies like ratgunners and flamethrowers is a must
OK, first and foremost AWESOME VIDEO and THANK YOU for the awesome breakdown!! Ok am a new player that just started getting into the game in the last week or so and THIS. WAS. EXTREMELY HELPFUL!! AWESOME vid sir!!!
@@FROSTYNARWALL Nah, Stamina recovery is great for all careers, more stamina equals more pushes/pushattacks and blocks for survivability, stagger, combo potential, etc.
@@FROSTYNARWALL there are 2 careers I wouldn’t recommend it on, those being handmaiden and witch hunter bc they have natural stamina regen perks/talents adding more is a little overkill
On item rarity: While red items always have maxed out stats, other rarities with stats(green/blue/orange) can also be maxed out though the likelyhood is small. For example, I have a charm that is orange rarity which has Power vs Skaven and Attack Speed maxed out. This basically makes it just as good as a red item with the same properties. So always watch out if you delete newly gained items that are orange, you might just have hit the jackpot with perfect stats.
Yea that is true. I did not feel like mentioning it the video because of the very small chance of occuring especially with some desirable properties. I did not get a single maxed out non-red item in almost 900 hours of gameplay. But yea if it happens it is definetly a good idea to keep it.
It really surprised me i've been opening chests only when i was out of materials. This meant that already low chance to gain red was minimal. So not having any reds I've wasted blasphemous amount of powder to endlesly reroll my orange items in order to get near perfect % with the right property combination X-O
the zealot tips, guy, THANKS for that, i see so many new players healing me to help, and when i say i play low hp, they ear that for the first time, and i understand why because zealot is not the most simple carrier to play when you start and you cant expect white hp doesnt count to disable buff...
hey good video, i do think a showcase on certain weapons and their unique push attacks could be good. like how to use the push attack on the billhook or the specials on weapons. other than that very informative and i think newer players can learn a great deal from this.
Been holding my crew back as about half the stuff in the combat section isn't even introduced in the game. Time to sharpen up and become the best witch hunter captain I can be! (what? I'm still going to play one of the classes that just makes everyone else better just by being there.)
I mean the dodging part is fine and all..but in an actual run you have tons of enemies around you most of the times. So when you dodge you can end up in some blob of foes or directly dodge into another attack. I haven't figured out damage avoidance yet. Seems impossible if there is pure chaos and an FX storm around you.^^
Off course it is, little bit different in practice. I just wanted to showcase how to properly dodge them. Also if you fight more than one strong enemy, for example a horde with a few elites. Do not release your block button when you dodge. Remember that block is your friend. Furthermore if you want to make an attack you can push the smaller enemies to give an attack window for you to hit the elite and hopefully slay it. It is all about practice and some muscle memory. Hope that this helps you at least a little bit :D And off course do not forget the teamwork, if you are not playing with bots that is.
Well, at this point all the mods I used to use in this game were implented into the game. Like crosshair kill confirmation, health displaying in numbers, etc.. So just check your settings and enable these. I don't know about any like training mod. But you can use Creature Spawner from steam workshop, then spawn monsters or other enemies in your keep and then just train dodging. Enemies spawned in the keep have ''Recruit'' level of stats. So they have low HP. Or you can spawn them in some mission, if you really like to, but then you are risking aggroing other naturally spawned enemies. Oh and if you will try this spawner mod be sure to play on ''Modded Realm'' in the launcher.

Hey ! It's very good you made this video. As a cataclysm player, I think it's very important for rookies to have a detailled video like this ! (btw, you didn't recommand the mace and sword as Kruber DLC weapon and I think it should be, more than the spear and shield somewhat tricky to play with :) )
The best map DLC in my opinion is "Back to Ubersreik". You get 3 new maps to play on and you will unlock new weapons which are strong as hell. Now it's even on a discount so go and grab it. Then you have Winds Of Magic which has poor reviews, because it adds only one map. But it also ads new enemy faction Beastmen and new game mode called Weaves. People dislike Beastmen because they are quite tough and for some reason people don't really enjoy the Weaves mode. But this DLC also unlocks you some very good weapons. Then it's ''Shadows over Bogenhafen'' which adds only 2 new maps and that's it. They are cool but yeah. So definetly get the Back for Ubersreik, just for the weapons it's worth it. Then Winds Of Magic if you don't mind Beastmen, and then if you run out of dlc's to buy you have the Shadows over Bogenhafen.
What's your view on Natural Bond MaRTyN? After coming back from a 2 year break, I seem to not really notice a difference in campaign performance between it and Barkskin, I seem to do fine with both.
I personally only use it with combination of waystalker's passive healing ability. Overall I think the Barkskin is better. Healing items are still giving you your health and when you get downed/grabbed you are able to hold on for much longer. Giving your teammates more time to save you. But that's just my preference. Both can be good, depends on the class and your playstyle.
What would you recommend on trinkets when playing a Warrior Priest? The Warrior Priest already has 100% curse resistance built into his abilities, so giving him more would be redundant.
Damn man having just started playing champion and realised that I'm definitely missing something, this has cleared up my issues, but God damn could I get some better teammates who actually want to grab the tomes please 😂
Thanks. I'm a completely new player who could only understand somewhat of everything. The terminology is what was confusing me i.e. skav = Rats. You mentioned bots can pick up books. What's the input for that action on controller? I'm on console (PSN). Our Ping is R1 if that helps.
Also, plague rats are even more dangerous than berserkers, imo. I'd be even more careful with them. A way that berserkers are more dangerous than plague rats though is that they blend in with other northlanders pretty well, so try to keep a special eye out for berserkers whenever you see northmen. Plague rats on the other hand stand out in both their looks, their green robes, and their scream is very distinctive from anything else in the game, unlike berserkers. A lot of times if you're targeted by a berserker or a plague rat the best thing to do is just block and dodge until your teammates dispatch them. Especially if there's more than one, then it can be very difficult/impossible to counter attack because while one isn't attacking another one is. Just think of yourself as a decoy that's drawing their attention and try to lure them in a way where your teammates can hit them without having to worry about getting caught by the attacks meant for you(do the same with monsters/patrols if you can). And be sure to return the favor to your teammates when you're not the one targeted. Speaking of which, a general tip is try not to get hit by attacks not meant for you. It can be easy to run into blows that are being swung at your teammates and you may only see the attack after it's midway to you or not at all. Running up to a horde or an elite to help your teammate without being observant or with your guard not up can easily earn you an overhead halberd to the face.
PLEASE do not play as handmaiden in higher difficulties if you are new in the game, because handmaiden will be the last standing character in almost every game if you are not greedy and your team will be waiting for you to clutch in these hard situations. So practice with it first please.
Players on higher difficulties can be extremely toxic. Some of the best time I had in the game was when first starting out and playing on the lower difficulties. Most of the time the players were great in the starting difficulties and could easily find n bunch of peeps that we would play tons of missions together even though we just met. On the higher difficulties that started to change and began more often than not running into players that were extremely toxic. At first I ignored it, but later realized how much fun I had with other players was few and far between compared to when I was on lower difficulties. Stopped playing shortly after reaching legendary cause the toxicity started really ruining the game. I've even seen some players get kicked from the lobby if they didn't have legendary gear which of course you can only obtain in legendary missions. Don't know if that has changed in the years but im still quite put off to come back to this title from how bad it was back then
If you have any interest in the game I would suggest trying it out again, legend can be toxic but if you play cataclysm or higher difficulties the players are generally extremely chill and aren't as focused on winning for loot.
Well it really depends on the people you will meet in the lobby I guess. I don't know when were you playing. But I met like 3-4 people i really didn't like in my 900h of playtime. Which is quite remarkable compared to other games I usually play. So if you are thinking of coming back feel free to do so. I think it will be allright. Maybe just go to champion to warm up before going legend again. With my guide, you will be well prepared. :D
I wouldn't recommend putting block cost reduction on your stuff tbh. It is a crutch for the most part and you should learn how to get by without it by leaning how to dodge, position yourself and stagger/kill enemies properly instead.
I didn't saw it in the video, but if I remember correctly before I quite playing (aprox 2-3 years ago) you could also give the grimoire to another party member or not? Can someone verify or correct me? And also if it's still/not anymore possible
Nope, you cannot give the grimoires to others. If you pick it you either die with it or finish the level still carrying it. You can drop it, but it will disappear.
@@MaRTyNYT she was the character i started with, and i can understand why it would not be the recomended one, but watching this thinking about coming back and not seeing how my main compares to the rest of the team was confusing, which subclas is recomended for her?
I have a question regarding weapon properties. Isn't it best to take 10% against chaos & 10% against skaven? So you deal +10% damage to every single enemy? Or do people take 10% against armored & 10% against chaos because they stack to 20%? Or does chaos and skaven buff only counts the lowly enemies excluding berserkers, armored and monsters? Or I'm retarded?? :P Answer please..... Someone...
It depends on the weapon and your playstyle and what do you prefer. If you take 10 % against chaos and 10 % against skaven, it indeed deals 10 % damage to every single enemy (might be some rare exceptions, but probably not). If you take 10 % against armoured and 10 % against chaos it will indeed stack. Also some specials are in the "Infantry" and "Monster" category. To summarize, take what you feel is best for you or search for some breakpoints on that particular weapon.

Both can be good, depends on the class and your playstyle.
What would you recommend on trinkets when playing a Warrior Priest? The Warrior Priest already has 100% curse resistance built into his abilities, so giving him more would be redundant.
Actually it's not redundant. You will get more maximum HP with each Grimoire.
@@MaRTyNYT wait, so if I have more than 100% curse resistance, a Grim increases my HP instead of reducing it?
@@anteas0184 Yes. Works for weaves too.
Damn man having just started playing champion and realised that I'm definitely missing something, this has cleared up my issues, but God damn could I get some better teammates who actually want to grab the tomes please 😂
great guide - thanks
Thanks. I'm a completely new player who could only understand somewhat of everything. The terminology is what was confusing me i.e. skav = Rats. You mentioned bots can pick up books. What's the input for that action on controller? I'm on console (PSN). Our Ping is R1 if that helps.
very well put guide, thanks a lot!
this video is what i needed
Am glad it helped.
@@MaRTyNYT this was more than helpfull. thank you for the video!
How do you arrange for practice bouts in the keep? I've never seen this facility.
Great guide!
what a nice presentation
ty soooooooooooooooo much man 10/10 guide
i eat berserkers for breakfast
Tip #1 try to heal Zealot as much as possible, ok you go it chief.
which mods do you use to spawn enemies?
A mod from Steam Workshop "Creature Spawner".
What a wonderful guide.
Thank you! 🥰🥰
How I like to deal with berserkers:
Step 1- play slayer
Step 2- win
Hey should I dodge while I’m blocking or just dodge normally,I play the game on Xbox
Dodging while blocking is safer than just dodging. Blocking actually do not affect the speed or distance of the dodge.
When you say thrown away and died with grimoire are gone "forever". You mean forever that match or forever for your ID/IP/Account?
No no, just from the current playthrough of that level.
PLEASE do not play as handmaiden in higher difficulties if you are new in the game, because handmaiden will be the last standing character in almost every game if you are not greedy and your team will be waiting for you to clutch in these hard situations. So practice with it first please.
Fine guide!
Can confirm still happens pretty often
Recommending elf axe? That goes straight into the book.
Oh no.
great guide thank you

I wouldn't recommend putting block cost reduction on your stuff tbh. It is a crutch for the most part and you should learn how to get by without it by leaning how to dodge, position yourself and stagger/kill enemies properly instead.
why would i wait for berzerkers to finish attacking when i can just be a better berzerker than they are as slayer?
Good point. Don't pull the patrols tho.
Amazing how many veterans out there don't tag enemies and refuse to carry tomes and/or grims unless told repeatedly to do so.
I know right?
fantastic ty
Thank you
Troll Difficulty: Annoying cracked me the fuck up. Seriously those assholes get old fast. Especially with the smallest amount of latency.
Game is super cheap with summer sales on Steam might give it a go
Give it a try. It's worth it.
How can one summon training monster in the forge area like in the video?
>recommended classes
>everyone except the which, who i play exclusively
feels bad man
:c
I didn't saw it in the video, but if I remember correctly before I quite playing (aprox 2-3 years ago) you could also give the grimoire to another party member or not? Can someone verify or correct me? And also if it's still/not anymore possible
Nope, you cannot give the grimoires to others. If you pick it you either die with it or finish the level still carrying it. You can drop it, but it will disappear.
@@MaRTyNYT Thanks for clarifying!
video: "don't die"
Me: oh
I do be right tho.
Gg I didn’t know until now to not heal a zealot
Forgot to mention that berserkers come in packs.
True.
How do you fight enemies in keep?
I used a mod called "Creature Spawner" from steam workshop. Also I had to launch the modded Realm, which is moddable version of the game.
Ok so let's see if I understand it right.
1. Always harass the Zealot with medical supplies.
Done.
Basically.
first go options and disable camera shake .. omg
No love for the mage huh
Well I just do not recommend her for new players. Off course that is only my opinion and you are free to start with her if you want.
@@MaRTyNYT she was the character i started with, and i can understand why it would not be the recomended one, but watching this thinking about coming back and not seeing how my main compares to the rest of the team was confusing, which subclas is recomended for her?
Why am I watching this, I have almost 600 hours
I ain't biased or anything, but my guess is that you are watching this because it's a good content.
@@MaRTyNYT guess you're right
I have a question regarding weapon properties.
