I'm really impressed by the finished product, really shows the great amount of time taken to make it look good as well as functional even tho it's DIY.
Missed opportunity on the top plate. You should get REX-C100 PID for it. Its rather inexpensive and now you will have both top and bottom plate with precise control.
This is what I wanted to see on your channel. I'm really impressed. Although I have a question. How do you control the temperature of the overhead IR element? Since you connected it to the wires of the previously backside heating element, I'm sure you don't increase the temperature of both bottom and upper to the same temperature now.
I was wondering could you do a short video on your fume exhaust system?. You must have something for all those solder fumes but I don’t recall seeing it in the videos. Cheers.
Really nice. What type of plastic you used for those 3d printed parts? Wont they melt ? I mean ,i see they don't ,but i thought they would. Nice video ,simple and effective
i actually use hot air because its still faster then ceramic heater. This was an experiment that turned out to be ok but slow. I am trying to make a jig using that heater to solder balls to the core so i wont have to blow on it. maybe i will post about it later.
i noticed the top heater ceramic is marked 220v, does the T8280 have a converter inside, or does it simply heat up slightly slower than if it were on true 220v? well done job all together!
What temperature in Celsius profile do you use for the preheater and from above? I use 150c at the bottom and when the temperature is reached, slowly up to a maximum of 210c.
See you are the Kwisatz Haderach................................ DUNE..... What is a Kwisatz Haderach meaning? Shortening of the Way Kwisatz Haderach was a term used primarily by the Bene Gesserit. My first time seeing someone using TIG welding in this type of content, you are a legend!

Enjoying those DIY videos a lot, keep 'em coming. Also, congrats on 20k subs, long overdue!
Neat, always like setup videos (especially mod/outside the box kinds)
What a a way to make something cooler and modded hotter lol. Hope this will really make the jobs easier for reballs and gpu replacements lol
great work, looks clean and authentic! looks like you need some core swaps work.

I love diy. What a nice surprise to find it in this channel.
yeah...such a surprise to find DIY stuff on a DIY repair channel...
Beautful job... You are amazing!!
Made "a 5x more expensive piece of junk" - admit it, you're secretly an electrical engineer 😂
Looks to be far more efficient than the hot air station. Better heat transfer through radiant thermal energy.
Yeah but very slow.
I ended up switching back to hot air
Great vid!!!

I would like to see more of this! Pretty cool
Very nice work. I hope it serves you well for a long time.
Damn, I forgot to put on my welding cap, now I see a thousand stars in front of my eyes, shit.
Thanks al lot m8.
Cheers.
thats what we called TALENT
chunk of diamond. great job!
Awesome video
Beautiful job and a fantastic idea
Nice video. What soldering equipment would you suggest, like heat plates, infrared heaters, hot air stations, etc?
i dont have anything to compare to. This is all i have right now.
Really nice. What type of plastic you used for those 3d printed parts? Wont they melt ? I mean ,i see they don't ,but i thought they would. Nice video ,simple and effective
WoW, great video and amazing work
I allways tought hot Air was better than ir ceramic on top, the profesional machines uses hot Air, why do you prefer IR ceramic????
Same question as me.
Pro tools all use hot air on top...

I can see this being useful when you don't want too much heat hitting other components
That is just awesome.
Great modification !
nice work
Good Job
very good
More upgrades means more videos, count me in.

well done job all together!
Great work
nice work, i like it.
I gotta find if you made a video about installing the switch to turn off the rear heating plate as I have the same preheater
nice one!
I see you are using an external temp probe, what are you using for that? I just got a T8280, but the temperature reading is off.
Great idea! By the way, what is the use of that portable smaller heater?
GPU

Interesting do you got a blueprint will your share it
still got the airgun clamp design? your thingyverse doesnt have it
ahahaha, you are hilarious! great video.
Good Work, I have hat same station lol, how do you do to prevent warping?
Slow heating.
Slow cooling.
Weights strategically placed around.
Most importantly is to set it flat to begin with
Good Job, How much temp do you use?
For what ?
Shrink wrapped curvy females wtg XD. Would like to see them in action...Just to see the difference/benefits👍 PEACE✌
Please link the mushroom head hot air nozzle. Thanks.
👍💫
n00b question: What's the difference between this and using a hot air gun with some preheat??
Infrared does not heat everything, but rather the loot and metal surfaces.
What "type" of temp probe is being used? I changed mine to K-type and my readings are too high. Pot is maxed out. Any info?

If this guy and Michael Reeves ever decide to go dark side, I'm worried (excited) for the type of chaos they could create in this world.

was that 1080ti strix crashing under load?
no it was gigabyte 1080ti aorus i think at the begging. At the end, i am not sure.
I put my order in for one of those and it still hasnt shipped whats the delay :p
NorthRidgeFix is shaking right now.
R u in da states? Feel like fixing a broke man pin on 5950? 👍
Yes
Angle grinder mmm.....
