Mercedes used to supply the German Autobahn police with E63AMG V12 estates. The only performance modification was the removal of the electronic limiter which pushed the top speed to something between 207 and 210mph. Of course the Bavarian police bought BMW M5 V10 wagons instead.
AMG never produced E63 V12 Estates, they were uses in S Class Sedans, Maybachs and G Wagons. Brabus did a V12 conversion but to my knowledge was only done to the sedan. All the AMG E63's used a large displaement Twin Turbo V8 with the turbos in the hot V. And yes, the limiter was turned off. :) It is the same engine used in Motorsort except they used a wet sump instead of a dry sump that was used for track service. Amazing motor.
5:57 - Cops don't do 'Car Chases' in Japan. The highway vehicles are usually just normal cars, but with really good camera systems - they send an officer to wait at the persons home address and arrest them there.
But what about stolen cars? Here in the west criminals usually steal the cars they intend to use as getaway vehicles, so they're not traceable to them.
To me, It'll always be the old school blue Fox Body Mustang State Trooper that patrolled I-75 in Michigan‼️ As for the cool factor. It's gonna be the police D.A.R.E. black 64' Impala w/ hydraulics sitting on wire rims.
Totally ridiculous. Having fast police cars to catch speeders is one thing. Stopping them is completely different. These pretty vehicles would probably disable themselves before they could Pitt another vehicle!
In the US, none of the cars that they have seized will NEVER be regular patrol vehicles. The maintenance cost is to high. They will only pull them out for a parade or like mentioned in the video.....community orientation. The cars the cops use in the US are the trashy rigs that they can go undercover to do dope buys or anti crime units will use. The actual cars that will be fast on the road will be highway patrol specialty chargers or challengers. Other than that, NONE of the cars that are "hot" cars will EVER see regular patrol.
"SEIZED" Corvette from a felony "SUSPECT"? Where is this place where you are guilty before proven? I know a felon from same state who got CONVICTED 34 times and is still walking around free.
Oh, HE'S walking around free, but they got his car and money. This is America, where everything is all about $$$$$$. And yes, they can confiscate your car even on only the suspician that you might be using it for any illegal activities. You have to sue to get it back. IIRC there was a sting operation in South Carolina in the news recently, about how such an operation is currently in the business of seizing people's cars on I95, not due to traffic violations, but because the cars have high monetary value. Then they sell the cars at an unannounced auction, and the city profits and only returns pennies on the dollar when the car's owner finally wins a financial judgement against the city. Win-win for the city and the cops.
This place is he United States. Many LE jurisdictions will seize any vehicle that they find with dope inside. They have been doing it in Kalifornia for 50 years.
As shitty as it is, in most states the person has to prove they didn't aquire goods by illicit means. Only a like 5 states, if that, don't play it like that. I know NC is one of them.

Texas State troopers having been driving high powered sports cars for decades. Cars that aren’t for the looks, they actually chase you down on these Texas highway.
If they can shut down the John Deere equipment to stop the Russians from using that they stole from Ukraine surely they could have all car manufacturers install this type of technology in all new car's and it's just a matter of typing in a code linked to the plate number of the vehicle that stops it in a highway pursuit, no chase required, no high performance cop car needed, no lives put at risk! You can thank me later!
The law enforcement cars that are normally used in the United States in 2024 are the 20-24 explorer,20-24 chevy tahoe. And this list is mostly not even about the US and more about Italy,Japan, and China and all that. Most of all the departments that use cars like the corvette, mustang Ect use them for traffic enforcement and after it pulls the person over they call for a normal unit to take over and then they leave. So what departments would use a expensive sports car for every day patrol and screwing it up all the time will cost the departments so they use strong durable vehicles like the explorer and tahoe.
This is just eye candy. Most police departments have switched to SUV,s. Car most car chases don’t last long and those that exceed 100 mph are terminated due to the extreme danger to the public. We had a police Ferrari that was used as a recruiting tool only. It had zero practical use
Florida Highway Patrol uses Chargers and Challengers but they use the standard 5.7 hemi as well as Undercover Mustang 5.0s. However it is rumored that some Dodge units are equipped with the 392 scat pack engine. At the end of the day these are fleet vehicles that are used daily and used hard so they need to be easily maintained while remaining within a certain budget. The boosted hemis that come with the hellcats and demons put an additional cost on that. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if FHP had a Hellcat or Demon tucked away somewhere ready to roll at any time.
The Demon is slower on top speeds than a Hellcat or especially a Redeye Charger. Thr Demon won't break 169 mph. Its just quicker than a Redeye in a drag race, NOT as fast on top end. The Demon is not made for stability at super high speeds like the Charger Hellcat and Charger Redeye. The Charger body style is also more aero with less wind drag than the Challenger body and the Charger has a higher top speed, while the Challenger is slightly lighter and slightly quicker in the quater mile. The quarter mile is NOT about top speeds !
Well, not needed in the Netherlands, before you accelerated to 100 km/h you are out of the country. But in the old days our highway police had Porsche 911 Targa, way cool!
Majority of these are just show cars not police cars. Pretty big sign of this is the fact that most don't even have a back seat to put suspects in. Try and do a pit maneuver with these cars and you'd be doing big damage to the car costing tens of thousands for the car to be fixed every time.
And then the Outlaws switched to a smaller, less powerful car .. Unnoticed, ignored and sped past by .. they escaped .. ( I want to make a movie about it .. THE SLOW STALLION JOB )
How can it be a police vehicle if it's just a show car. If it's not used to patrol then it's just a show piece. And most places don't have high speed chases anymore. They set up road blocks and figure that most people don't know how to drive over a 100 for a long time. Most cars will also not drive fast for a long time. The fact is that people who drive more than 10mph over the speed limit are more than twice as likely to be in a fatal accident. So for the most part they will just end up not being a problem.
I remember the Z28 used by the CHP in 78/79. Of course by todays standards they are slugs but they were awesome. Today the are highly sought after collectables
I did not even know this. Police definitely do need much faster cars to catch a lot of the high hp/high trq cars coming off of the assembly line today.

So only 3 cars manufactures should take a credit for making specifically for the police lexus Nissan and porsche. Others just expensive cars in their possession. Very misleading video.
A lot of people dont know but, South Carolina in the US has a small fleet of M% BMW used by the State Highway Patrol. some have light bars some are "low visibility" cars (meaning no light bar and markings only on the sides. These were donated to the state by BMW when they opened their SC plant
I became a NY police officer back in 1967 when our patrol cars had 4-60 air conditioning. That meant that during 90f+ weather, we opened 4 windows and did 60.
I have a 1981 Ford Explorer(f-150) with wing windows. I love my wing windows. Those and a trigger sprayer of ice water, you don't need air con. That and my big 4.8 liter 125 H.P. inline six, 3 speed manual w/od, I can run down anybody....as long as they keep it under 50.

@@bigcity2085 I believe you only you know her value. I have a 86 Camaro v-6, 5 speed that an Army buddy gave to me in 05. I drove from tx to md and everyone thought I wouldn’t make it. Slowly working on it to give to my grandson as my son likes trucks.
I’m a mustang guy but I can’t give up that Camaro. My wife hates it until about 2 years ago after I overhaul the interior. Now she can’t wait for the completion. Gonna put in some T-tops next
@@terminatah500 My '81 pickup ...she's a joy. I'll tell you this. I also have a 1983 Honda CX 656 C motorcycle. DUMP ALL ethanol gas out of all your old vehicles, be it old car, chain saw, lawn mower whatever. I dumped all ethanol fuel out of my bike. Put in clear ethanol free 87 octane in it. Rocket ship. Then I dumped all the ethanol out of my '81 pickup. She flies ! Old motors and carbs don't deal well with ethanol gas. It didn't exist back then ! Trust me.(Ethanol will EAT your chain saw. That's why they only hold up for a year. Even Stihl knows it.)
Stunning Instillation and Fitment the issue is that Newbies should never pilot HiPo Race Cars on our Streets. THE PUBLIC IS WORKING OR HEADED HOME
I was in February in Istanbul, thy have a Bentley and a Ferrari.
Shows the c8 engine when talking about c7 z06
A fleet of Bugatti Veyron's, Imagine !
s650 mustang gt is a car you missed. multiple police departments are getting their hands on them because dodge and camaro discontinued
If I was getting flagged down by 600hp police vehicle, I'd assume I was being setup and wouldn't stop until I verified it with the actual PD lol.
So the flashing red and blue lights are not enough?
@ you have poor reading comprehension I’m afraid.
Even that new police Mustang from Transformers The Last Knight is also the fastest.
here in the netherlands we not only have a spyker. we also have a veyron in the fleet. 😀
To me, It'll always be the old school blue Fox Body Mustang State Trooper that patrolled I-75 in Michigan‼️
As for the cool factor.
It's gonna be the police D.A.R.E. black 64' Impala w/ hydraulics sitting on wire rims.
The SCPD bouta take notes
Don't care about the Fastest, just the most desirable.....Aston Martin hands down 💯❤️💪👍🇬🇧
Totally ridiculous. Having fast police cars to catch speeders is one thing. Stopping them is completely different. These pretty vehicles would probably disable themselves before they could Pitt another vehicle!
They explained that these are used for public relations.
And where would you put the criminal once you catch him? There's no room.
if I was the runner give me the Crown Vickie anytime just do some nascar paint rubbing only the lamborghini at 4800 lbs would have a chance

SWEET!
I actually witnessed the two italian police hurancans chase down a speeding bike on the highway easly going 200kmh
but you cant out run a radio
Actually contrary to popular belief the Bugatti W16 engine isn’t two V8’s together… it’s two VR8 engine’s together..
They're still in a "V" configuration, so who cares...
@ not a “v” configuration… the piston’s are alternated differently.🤓🤓
There's a dodge charger police car that found in libya.
But it looks different then a nissan skyline gtr nismo police car in japan.
It's not about running yet out driving and most of those car are too expensive to risk a chase
Speed isn't anything if it can't PIT! None of these have the weight or solid foundation to do anything but go fast!
The gtr is a monster
Video should be on standard fleet cars. These are like one off for show only cop cars.
I'll bet the Lambo Urus corners like a giraffe on stilts compared to the rest of those cars
True...
But you don't have to tie the criminal to your trunk either.
😂
@@rustysm8080 Well that takes all the fun out of it.
@@andrewfranson4756 Fair enough. 😄
There is a county in NC that has a ZR-1 for real duty. It was seized from a convicted drug trafficker.
I'm pretty sure a Mustang can also achieve Highway Patrol duty.
"SEIZED" Corvette from a felony "SUSPECT"?
Where is this place where you are guilty before proven?
I know a felon from same state who got CONVICTED 34 times and is still walking around free.
Civil asset forfeiture
@@myveryfirstname There has to be guilt.
As shitty as it is, in most states the person has to prove they didn't aquire goods by illicit means. Only a like 5 states, if that, don't play it like that. I know NC is one of them.
That 6.2 supercharged Corvette produce 750hp. North Carolina highway patrol has one too.
That's exactly what I was thinking the Bugatti I knew I had a feeling that you were going to show that car at the last one as far as supercars. to my understanding so far nothing's faster than a Bugatti so far
ENDANGERMENT OF THE MASSES OF GENERAL PUBLIC, THAT'S CRIMINAL........
LOL thats the same thing I said on my comment. In LA ca the police follow them at a Distance and wait for fugitive to surrender or run out of gas and they follow with a helicopter
I seen them in Miami Beach aria with the lambergany
Texas State troopers having been driving high powered sports cars for decades. Cars that aren’t for the looks, they actually chase you down on these Texas highway.
Scottsdale PD in arizona has just about every super car on its force unmarked
If they can shut down the John Deere equipment to stop the Russians from using that they stole from Ukraine surely they could have all car manufacturers install this type of technology in all new car's and it's just a matter of typing in a code linked to the plate number of the vehicle that stops it in a highway pursuit, no chase required, no high performance cop car needed, no lives put at risk! You can thank me later!
Maybe VIN, not plate number. Gov't overreach is real.
All these expensive ass cars and barely any of them are used for actual police work🤦
What a waste of tax dollars!
Didn't someone say ignorance is bliss.
Any car thats not actually used for police duties has no business on this list.
USA use a Dodge demon i tink in Florida
The quarter mile is NOT about top speeds !

i thought flipping the lid might help me outrun the cops.
the bugatti literally says its displacement on the engine cover. it is not an 8.0. but 16.4 liter quad turbo w16 engine
That cover cruiser kicks anyone's ass! Much of my conclusion is due to the spoilers. I mean, holy-...! Hug it baby!
Well, not needed in the Netherlands, before you accelerated to 100 km/h you are out of the country.
But in the old days our highway police had Porsche 911 Targa, way cool!
So with these 2 seater cars, how do they fit the portable jail that's in every explorer police interceptor?
Where he going to be a cop with that bad car like aston martin 😂😂
The Urus? I think there are still something faster than the Urus

No surprise of the number one.
in Arizona i have seen what looked like a fairly new mustang gt
You can still a powerful engine but it is the training of the officer to handle them
Leaving comment before end - Katy Texas DPS runs a Hellcat.
Boumont Sheriff department in Texas also seized a Corvette, and kept it to chase after drug runners.
