A lot of people don't like the host here. I find him kind of endearing actually. He does interrupt, probably a bit too much, but he never has an unkind thing to say and I think it's more out of enthusiasm than ego. He clearly likes John McWhorter and is intimately familiar with his writing.

He has a "The Teaching Company" series of lessons called "The history of human language" that is fascinating and worth every minute and penny: 36 lectures that talk about the evolution of language in the most fascinating way. I'm frankly surprised that this has been on the web for over a year, and only one comment is made. Sad.

Would anybody like to have McWorter's opinion of the linguistic styles of Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer? How about the linguistic content of Hillary Clinton's lies? And I'd love to hear his critique of Elizabeth Warren as she tells us she is 1/1024th Native American. You will never hear it because he will not go on record to criticize Democrats. Democrats are like Mary Poppins, "practically perfect in every possible way."
