Stunning motorcycle ride through the Westfjords of ICELAND [S4-E7]

- September 5th, 2022: I woke up to blue skies and bright sun, and guess what? It lasted the entire day! I rode about 430 kilometers starting in Reykjholt and following the northern part of the Westfjords. I had an absolutely fantastic day enjoying the weather and scenery - I hope you'll enjoy it too!
Route description:
I started the day at Fosshótel Reykjholt and went straight onto the Road 1 which I followed to Staður, at the very root of the Westfjords. From here I just followed the coast all the way to Ísafjörður where I spent the night at Tunguskogur Campground.

Fond memories, wife and I stopped at Litlbear on September 6, 2022. We were headed south, such a great spot for coffee. We purchased some the homemade rhubarb and blueberry jam. The photos inside were very interesting.
It was such a lovely place! And very nice people running it, I am glad I made the stop 😊

Absolutely stunning, I love the scenery and the difference of Iceland to so many other countries in terms of landscape. I am off to Scotland in July and thinking of getting a Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Congratulations. My first non-"CC" assisted. Nice ride. Don't know how you take the cold. I'm a girly man when it comes to cold. Always have been. Anything below 21c is too cold for me in shorts and short sleeve t-shirt. Keep them coming. 😍 No sheep or cows. 😂
Yessss finally 😁 hahah. I actually get cold SO fast, but I've gotten pretty good at layering, and have invested in quality clothes so I usually do pretty good 😊 Night times can be brutally cold though. But that's just summer in the north for ya 😂

The most dangerous road you talked about at the end is actually very safe since you go very slowly, but it's awesome. My favorite road.
I noticed the F35 is also named a "dangerous" road and that was a very normal off road gravel road too 😊 I guess it all depend on what standard one are used to!

That was just incredible Runa, you sure lucked out with the weather👍Just truly spectacular landscapes and amazing twisty roads, loved every minute of that👌 I was riding my bicycle in the mist today, no sign of the sun 😉Just 85km this time but I did 130km on Sunday so I took a break😂 It was +8C today, nice for February👍
You ride your bicycle as far as I ride my motorcycle some days 😂 That is impressive! Hopefully we will have some sun too!

I am watching your journey around Iceland with the greatest pleasure. I was there at the same time, and on September 6 we landed at the airport in Isafjordur :) ... I'm waiting for the next episode, maybe I'll be seen stealthily somewhere there 😉

@@OffSheGoesADV all in all, during the whole stay in Iceland the weather was great.. and during the stay in Isafjordur, local friends said that such weather here in the north is really rare ... but the greatest adventure was the return cruise and the storm on the atlantic.. after passing the Faroe Islands on September 29, the waves were 8 meters high :)

The Westfjords looks a lot like Svalbard, but a bit more green. :)
I've never been there but it's definitely on my bucket list! Although it would probably have to be on a snowmobile 😁
@@OffSheGoesADV It is almost like a bike, but with belt and skis. :D It is amazing to go with locals on long scooter trips. Don't think i would ever go with the organized tours. They drive really slow, and it is too much people. :)

Hahah that is a very good point! There were a bit more vegetation in southern and eastern parts of iceland, but very little in general!

Very nice. I have been wondering for quite a few of your videos, how effective is tucking the cuffs of your gloves inside your jacket sleeves? I've always made a point of making sure my gloves covered the ends of my sleeves on the outside.
I usually always do that! But the gloves I was using last season has a very slim fit around the wrist, so it wont fit around the cuff 😊 I always bring bigger and warmer gloves that fit around the cuff incase the weather is too cold.
