Hearing “How can we make sure we’re respecting the existing Arkham games”, gives me more confidence than I had for the more recent game that released this year

Camouflaj are more faithful to Rocksteadys work than Rocksteady themselves.

I like how they seem to have an enthusiasm and attentiveness to the timeline in terms of how this story fits in without disrupting established canon, the known inconsistences, and even considerations of tie-in media. Rocksteady strikes me as never being very preoccupied with their established timeline lore pieces and making sure details line up as much as just focusing on the current entry. The same for WB Montreal.
Warner Bros were the ones that ruined Suicide Squad by demanding that it should be GAAS slop.

Seeing this interview makes me so happy and yet sad at the same time. They very clearly care and are extremely passionate about the arkhamverse but then you remember that most people won’t even get to play this game

The part where they talked about the importance of maintain the timeline and how much they talked about it and researched it alone sold me on checking it out if I ever get the chance.

The fact that they discussed about the Arkham Games and COMICS makes me feel hopeful that they will not only respect but expand the Arkham lore in a very good way
Charachter trophies and bios and the game over gonna be epic, being able to view all the charachters in vr will be amazing
Although it is a virtual reality game, still the concept of seeing a type of "sequel" to Arkham Origins and other things like Dent and Harley became the ones we already know or seeing another villain like Ratcacher 1, sounds intriguing 😮👌
I've wanted an Origins sequels that follows up on that early, unrefined Batman's journey for years and even though I imagined it and would've loved for it to be a multi-platform console/PC game, this does show a lot of promise. Plus, VR gaming seems to have evolved a lot in the last near-decade.

they may have said they "translated it" but we have no idea what they mean by that. like the player themselves are doing the moves surely its VR it ain't going to be the same as the free flow combat in the arkham games.
the stealth sections I think will be great but hand to hand combat going to be janky unless you put a lot of time into figuring out what looks cool.

The reason why I questioned if you really watched the interview because Ryan Payton himself started that they pretty much nailed the Arkham combat well not nailed but they accomplished their goals for a traditional Arkham combat but being on vr . Don’t expect the experience to be flying across the room whilst punching someone in the face because that doesn’t exactly translate to vr. Free flow combat can be good even if you tweak and change some things. In this particular case the free flow combat is particularly fitted for vr only. Anyways I’m not sure why you thought that I was passive aggressive and took my overall question too seriously like jeez man I’m not trying to anger you or troll you just wanted to know that if you even bothered to watch the interview in the first place. Chill.

This may only be on Meta Quest 3, but I am personally very excited for the game. I don't have Meta Quest 3 either, but I'll definitely watch someone play it on youtube.
Watching a walkthrough of a VR game is the same as watching a video of a roller coaster, but not riding it.
My personal questions:
1. Will there be a chapter selection ?
2. Will there be new game plus?
3. Will there be different difficulties?
4. Are the original voice actors for the thugs returning ?
5. Will there be female thugs like in Gotham knights or just male like in the rest of the Arkham series?
6. Why does Batman switch his logo for this suit?
7. Will we see or get to use any vehicles like the batwing or Batmobile?
8. Will there be new gadgets that we’re not in the other Arkham Games?
9. Will gadgets like the bat claw, remote controlled baterang, and the disruptor return?
10. Is there cape stun and beat down or is the punching combo replacing that?
11. Are you able to punch one enemy and then move to strike another like in the console Arkham games or are you restricted to one until another enemy throws an attack and you counter?
12. Is there a way to disable the combat number hud and counter icon?
13. Are there open city sections like in Assassin’s Creed Nexus that you can free roam in?
14. Are you able to inverted takedown?
15. How will you attack stun baton enemies and riot shield enemies?
16. Will there be a dodge or evade?
17. Why did u decide not to add skins if there a big part of Batman?
18. Why did u decide to make the Ratking the main villain and choose the theme of rats?
19. Do you plan on making another Arkham Vr Game?
20. Would it really be that hard to add challenge maps in a future update by taking out combat and predator sections of the game to replay?
For people who wanted to know if it will be ported to other VR systems...the awnser is no.

Iron Man was originally a psvr exclusive that got ported over. I'm not saying it's likely going to happen. But I could see it happen sometime in a few years.

Maybe it's said to be an exclusive now to push the exclusivity and power of the Meta Quest for marketing, but maybe eventually WB decides to have it ported to other systems to expand the reach. Like with PlayStation exclusives in the last few years.

This video basically erased any initial wariness I (and I think many others as well) had when I first saw the 1st trailer! It's great to see the passion and mindfulness the devs have. Can't wait!
Its really good to see how compasionate and faithful they were towards what came before and what they are making. I have more faith that as an Arkham installment it will be nothing but a project made with love and passion for the franchise that is a seamless and amazing addition to the Arkham World...although shame it is locked to a singluar version of a VR headset.

according to the offiicial arkham timeline, origins is set during bruce's second year as batman, dick becomes robin during his fourth year, he later becomes nightwing during bruce's sixth year, jason becomes robin during his seventh year, and then dies the same year tim becomes robin. I'm assuming the game is set around the time dick is still robin, so we'll probably at least get to see him, but i'm not sure we'll get to see jason.
The batman shadow effect has got to be the coolest thing thats ever been introduced into the arkham series. The fact that the titke was inspired by this one visual mechanic and how good it looks in VR is a cool fact. Whoevers idea that was is a genius.
I’m three minutes into the interview and this is exactly what we needed, we need to hear from the devs are supposed to just add cinematic trailer that didn’t tell us anything
As a VR enthusiast, I should let you all know that the Quest 3s is coming out later this year and is rumored to be nearly half the price of the Quest 3. It will give you access to the game but if you can, get the Quest 3. The pancake lenses in the Quest 3 is a breakthrough in VR tech that makes it far more usable for the average user. Far more clear than fresnel lenses BUT if it’s too much the Quest 3s WILL be an option in early October.

You cant. Revive doesnt work with quest native games, only with rift games.
as other commenter said. Revive only works with RIft games. To get any Quest exclusives, which are built to run an an Android based OS, you'd need a full-blown emulator. Sadly I dont think any exist yet

I bought a quest 3 as soon as this game was confirmed for this year. The Arkham games have kept me interested in video games since Asylum. Cannot wait.
It sounds like this is going to be a really good game, and I get this was approved in 2020. It is just unfortunate timing because after Suicide Squad, because right now a quality Batman Arkham game that is accessible to the majority of gamers is desperately needed, and that makes this game a cruel tease. I can't imagine that many people that follow the Arkham series, have a Metaquest 3, and are going to spend the money for it, especially if you chose the PSVR2 and just got burned by it.
I actually have faith now. We got two of many great members on their team. Ryan Payton and Matt Walker. Both from great companies and worked on some of the greatest games. Payton for MGS4 and Walker for DMC 5
Lockup is a character I've wanted to see for a long time... I hope he catches some momentum here.
He's a very distilled focus of what the entire Batman story needs to be about... It sucks that he's just some Z-Lister.
I wonder if he'll if he play a part in Batman's journey that they talked about him growing as a character, going from "more passionate to compassionate" which would be a neat way to integrate a lesser known villain within the main arc and story imo.
Seeing the passion and effort that these guys are putting into this game makes me sad that I’ll never be able to play it because I don’t have a mega quest 3

They already confirmed they wont. Well it will come to future quest headsets for sure because of backwards compatibility but thats it

Okay, I actually do respect that these guys actually give a dam about their title and are putting some form of effort into it even tho it's not the game that people want. I respect their commitment. It's funny.. these guys care more about Arkham than Rocksteady themselves 😂
