Just clarify something. Dumbledore didn't kill his sister, or at least we don't know for sure. There was a 3 way duel between Aberforth, Grindelwald & Albus, and Arianna got caught in the middle. Noone knows whose spell killed her that night. It's explained better in Deathly Hallows, if you ever decide to read the books, or listen to them on audio book. 😁

I swear that if you switch the names of the second and third movies it feels that it makes more sense. Like, in the Crimes of Grindewald we learn more about "Dumbledore" as in Albus having the blood pact and Credence being actually an Dumbledore, and in Secrets of Dumbledore we see the political issues with Grindewalds crimes.
@@decembersbitch7694 That's exactly why I think that "The Secrets of Dumbledore" fits more with the second movie, it's not just about Albus but about another Dumbledore as well being Aurelius, aka Credence. And in the third movie Grindelwald literally tries to cheat his way into power so "The Crimes of Grindelwald" i think fits better for the third movie.

The other two stand alone in my opinion because Depp played a really good villain but Mikkelsen can play the character better when it comes to his relationship with Dumbledore. Anyway i think Mads did an amazing job even tho the film was all over the place.
Mikkelsen is much better in the role. I don't blame new fans/people for not really having an expectation of what Grindelwald should be like so it makes a bit of sense that some prefer Depp, but Mikkelsen is just a better actor and was born to play villains.
@@SnoTangerine for me personally depp was a much better fit for the role BECAUSE he isnt your typical villain. mikkelsen just lacks this special something in my opinion. grindelwald is supposed be a person that doesnt look like the villain of the story but rather someone a majority of people could look up to (dumbledore included). mikkelsens way of playing him is just too on the nose evil for me. another thing that bothers me about this casting change is that they didnt "just" change the actor, they changed the whole costume, hair&makeup, behaviour and just the vibe in general. in my opinion you could put pictures of mikkelsen as hannibal and as grindelwald next to each other and i couldnt have told you which one is which (prior to seeing the movie),which is a big problem for me personally since the harry potter world should be all about that magical feeling. i think mikkelsen just isnt as versatile as depp (doesnt mean he is a bad actor, just maybe not the right person to play a wizard in a franchise that so clearly sets wizards and muggles apart in so many ways)
I agree, Mads Mikkelsen is a better Grindelwald than Johnny Depp (as much as i loved Depp in Grindelwald role). Furthermore Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald is the Grindelwald as i’ve always imagined it from reading the books.
@Riley Garraway would that make ollivander a villain too in your eyes? He told voldemort where he might find the elderwand as well. I'm not saying that grindelwald isn't evil, what I'm saying is that he isn't a villain like the ones in horror movies or Disney for example, he isn't this one sided guy that's just evil. He has a vision, he has passion, he has a spark. Mikkelsen plays him in a very dull and "just evil" way. Should have more depth and depp would've been better for that
You mentioned near the end that you wished there were more scenes between Dumbledore and Grindlwald, and the reason there isn't is because these movies have to work around the pre-established canon set in the HP books. According to Dumbledore in HP, after the fight between him, Grindlwald, and Aberforth, he never sees Grindlwald again until their famous battle in which Dumbledore wins the elder wand. That dule isn't in this movie, it is suspected to come at the end of the series, so for all these movies Dumbledore and Grindlwald can't really interact with eachother until that final fight
@@seanmalloy0528 No one knows since this movie didn’t do so well compared to the other movies in the franchise with box office sales and has mixed audience reception of good and bad, it may seem like this franchise might not continue. It’s been reported multiple times by different news outlets that the Fantastic Beasts franchise has been put on hold.

Yeah this was supposed to be 5 movies total, but that's in limbo now. It's safe to say this third movie, after several delays and several other factors, did not end up the way it was originally planned. Still enjoy it honestly, there's a quiet beauty to the whole thing. Overall these movies are full of missed potential, but there's still somehow a lot to love with what we got.

I love all of these movies. I dont care too much on the whole lore of everything. Im just hear to see all the characters interact with eachother and the comedy that jacob brings to it all and the magic. I just enjoy reliving the magic of the wizarding world.
ngl when I saw this in theaters, I was sure the Qilin was gonna bow to Jacob, especially because they set that up earlier in the scene where he's playing with it and even before that when he first gets recruited. I was kinda disappointed to see it go to Dumbledore
@@Anika0308 Yeah, seeing as this world is set in the olden days it's probably still illegal to be gay at that time. And so 'the crimes of Grindelwald' wouldn't be crimes in a more modern society. Dumbledore is just as guilty of these 'crimes' too
Mads Mikkelsen had long since been my fan cast for this role ever since I read the books and was a sentiment amplified after watching Hannibal. I was personally disappointed when Depp was casted and not because I didn’t think he couldn’t play the role (that man is SO gifted and a brilliant character actor) but the type of characters he tends to portray did not fit the image I had. Deeply saddened by HOW the role was passed on and the circumstances - truly a disservice to Depp 😢 So sad Tina isn’t in this one much but…well … bless Angie for seemingly being unaware of all the politics revolving the franchise and it’s author
I remember only feeling remotely something three times during the film: The swiveling scene made me giggle. The Dumbledore-Grindelwald almost wizard fight showdown got me excited for the milisecond it lasted. Tina and Newt's scene was so well acted, they didn't say a single thing and my heart fluttered in joy. Then the movie ended and I felt empty af. Also it's so incredibly cheap how Ariana being an obscurial was a fan theory that has existed since the first FB film, they essentially just confirmed the theory and narrated things that were in the seventh book, not even in flashbacks, nope, exposition.
Dumbledore actually wins the elder wand from Grindelwald, it should be shown in their big showdown in 5th Fantastic Beasts movie (in the year 1945) but we don't even know if 4th and 5th movie will be made because of how criticized the 2nd and 3rd one were The fact that he did it is actually known from the beginning of book/movie 1, when Harry is with Ron on train to Hogwarts and they are talking about chocolate frogs and famous wizards cards, Harry gets Dumbledore's card where the battle with Grindelwald is mentioned
When a wizard like Yusuf walks into the enemy camp, he could be double-crossing, yes. OR he could be pulling a Snape. If he is not on the enemy’s side, he still has to _pretend_ to be- if he wants to remain alive, much less accomplish anything undercover.
I love Johnny depp but Mads Mikkelsen should have been casted since the first movie, he's just perfect for the part. It's shame that he had just one movie in this role but they really messed up the other characters :( Great commentary, love your channel
Grindelwald was recast as depp lost the UK trial so he appelled it in the US meening he couldn't film in the UK, plus due to covid there is was to long of a brake. So he was recast, he did film a few scenes though so he was payed in full
I really enjoyed this film! I thought it was very close to being as good as the 1st Fantastic Beasts film! Shame we might not get a 4th one from this series!😥
@@davidhansen9792 Why? _Crimes of Grindlewald_ was a huge mess from beginning to the end and that film almost resulted in myself giving up on the Fantastic Beast series and the Wizarding World as a whole for how convoluted and messy it became, and while _Secrets of Dumbledore_ was not a perfect film, it still was a massive improvement over _Crimes of Grindlewald_ so you saying that That film Is Inferior to _Crimes of Grindlewald_ shows no taste and appreciation and is absolutely wrong.

Don't worry about Newt and Tina, they gonna be married, have children and live in a house together with two magic cats. And Newt and Tina are Luna Lovegood's grandparents-in-law. She married Rolf Scamander Newt's grandson.
I like this movie the least of the three, but it was still super entertaining! Professor Hicks was an amazing character and if the series does continue, I *really* hope she returns, she's hilarious.
That was fun. I still am holding hope that you will check out the Harry Potter musical trilogy done by Team StarKid. What they do to thw characters is something else. Just think about it. Great as always.

I was so excited to see this movie, so excited that I actually went on my own to the cinema to watch it. I was very very disappointed after watching it, the only things I really appreciated was Newt ofc, Lally and the subtle change in pronunciations when Jude Law speaks to fit how Michael Gambon spoke as Dumbledore, a subtle Irish accent on certain words, can really hear it when he pronounces his Rs
I’ll say this fantastic beasts movie was ok but it’s not the greatest for sure but I liked some of the creature designs in this one. This one is pretty much up and down. That’s what I give this movie. So glad to keep watching these videos. 😄
Off topic, but highly recommed The Adventures of Tintin (directed by Spielberg) or Lupin III The First, if you wanna watch some fun action adventure/mystery movies.
The biggest issue the movies had was how many side characters there were and how much it had to jump between the different perspectives. In the first movie, Rowling had some people help adjust her writing to a film format instead of a book format, and it had a smaller cast of characters compared to everyone here. Each movie just kept introducing new concepts as if they already existed, introducing new characters that only exist to move the plot forward (which definitely factored into Tina being here for a grand total of a minute because they couldn't find a way to incorporate her in the story with everything else they had to juggle), etc. And with each movie, the fantastic beasts become more and more of a plot device than a focus like the title suggests. It's like if Harry Potter was about Seamus Finnigan's perspective while all the Harry Potter stuff going on. As much as I love Newt, it's difficult to incorporate a Magizoologist into a story revolving around the wizarding war between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. It would have been easier to just focus on the Dumbledore and Grindelwald stuff on its own, or just have the spinoff focus solely on fantastic beasts without juggling all the lore that involves Dumbledore and retconning all these events to justify how things play out. And then there's the way they do the reveals in these movies. They give the big twist, and then give the information as to why it's the case. They do the payoff's before the setup's, so it feels like they're just rushing through certain things. Credence is Aberforth's son, now we're just casually mentioning that Aberforth got a girl pregnant and she was sent away and the reason this was never brought up before was because it was "rumour". Credence is actively dying and it's actually why the Phoenix has been coming to him (even though it was established it would come to a Dumbeldore in a time of great need and it was brought by Grindelwald in the first place, so it feels like originally Grindelwald lied, but then they changed it to be true), and Credence only shows signs of being weak/dying after it's established. It's all just not as clean as the other reveals in all the other movies and books.
I rarely comment on here, but for this I had to. It was great reaction once again. I love that you've become such a fan of this world. It's adorable. :) This movie hits different for people who only watched the movies and for those who also read the books religiously. If you only watched all the movies, the new information in this one for example can be quite overwhelming. Although I must say the previous 2 weren't shy of that either. I like the 3rd one the most though because of Mads as Grindelwald. He brought so much more authenticity to the character that resembled more the one from the HP books. Johnny Depp was great too but in a different way. When I read the books, I always envisioned Grindelwald the way Mads portrayed him. The plot is not the most creative, I agree with you on that, Ange. But the reason it doesn't bug me that much is because each movie we as fans get to see more parts of the wizarding world, different locations, different countries, cultures, etc. It attempts to expand our imagination of how big and diverse this world truly is.
I would highly recommend the audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale, the books go into so much more detail and will explain a lot of the things you were confused about in the films.
I just started watching, btw I love your reactions, I watched already all HP reactions and now this last FB. When you said "My eyes are heavy" I literally just started singing Eminem :D. That was so funny. Ok I continue watching, I'm exited :D I love to return to every HP related books/films
Wow, seeing this for the first time from your reaction, and all I'm thinking is what a robbery it was that they stripped the Ariana Dumbledore story from the original movies. lmao also giving Aberforth a lover and no other context when he was canonically a loner and threw dung at people? When the last film came out there was a lot of discourse in the fandom about whether or not the Dumbledore Grindelwald romance was too subtle, so it was very interesting to hear your perspective as someone who wasn't already expecting it!
Iol I forget that all the Ariana stuff isnt in the movies. Harry learns about the night she died so if you've read the books, you already know how that night went down before this movie.
I love this movie as much as I love Crimes of Grindelwald and the first Fantastic Beasts movie. I love all the Fantastic Beasts movies! I just think they are so good! I especially love the ending where Queenie and Jacob got married! They got the happy ending they deserved! I was pretty much cheering when they got finally tied the knot!! Mads Mikkelsen did such a good job playing as Grindelwald! Such a perfect ending!
I need to jump in into the reference that Kowalsky made. Kowalski is the most common Polish surname, and he is referencing to a card trick, that was designed to trick tourist, and win a money with the deceit. The rules are simple, there are a three card, if you pick the lady - you will win, but skillful hands of magician will make sure there will be no one ;)
i agree with like everything you said and more, as someone who knows most the lore there are just so many things that are weird in this movie and although I do enjoy it, and would like more, I doubt there will be anymore movies. this one just kinda flopped in part bc of depps removal causing some boycotting, and even in 2022 ppl were still angry that dumbledore was gay
omg wait i just realized that in 24.35, it couldn't have been the room of requirement bc in the harry potter books dumbledore said that he just discovered the room of requirement
I would love to see the next 2 movies, I understand that this one was all over the place and the change between Depp and Mikkelsen impacted a lot. But it is still a good movie and it managed to make enough money hahaha
This one I feel, became more of a letdown because of all of the outside, personal issues going on with Rowling, Depp and Miller. When the sequel was announced it was also essentially announced that it would be a 5-part series (4 additional movies after FB) and Rowling would be writing the scripts for all of them. This one was written based on her notes and had to essentially be tied up cause WB was also going thru multiple leadership changes/buyouts, Depp was having his legal issues, Miller was beginning to have legal issues, Rowling had her statements on Transgender people, the others hadn’t done as well as WB had hoped they would, etc. so they chose to tie up as many loose ends as they could, while also leaving the opening for the 4th if the audience was there for it ($ was there for it). It definitely could have been a better “chapter” in the series, but given everything that was going on through it’s production, I think everyone did a great job. That being said, the cast overall was still amazing. Mads was great as Grindlewald, imo, the fight scenes as you pointed out, were awesome in this series because of the age these characters were placed in vs HP, and it brought some depth to the world of HP. There’s inconsistencies in the series I don’t like (especially McGonagall’s cameo in the 2nd movie) but overall still a series I’ll enjoy and rewatch every once in a while.
Even if there's no fourth movie, I think the effects of this one are absolutely amazing!😁 The movie is trying to be diverse here, inadvertently making Grindewald and Dumbledore gay in this movie, although there may have been hints in the previous movie. Also, I think the fire was to symbolize Dumbledore's world burning to dust around him.🔥 Tbh, I don't know how Eddie looks so young. Some actors take care of themselves enough to look younger.🥰❤️ I think you're going to find out what the "deer" creature is soon enough, Ange, lol.😅
Dumbledore has been gay lol, it's not "trying to be diverse" it is a literal part of his relationship with Grindelwald and has been long before theses movies came out
The new grindelwald is now Mads mikkelsen, he was casted as a replacement for johny depp beocuse of the amber heard case, and the reason cause why he look so difrend and act so difrend is becouse he wanted his own charecter and not copying Jonnhy depp.
the magic portrayed is much better because of 2 main reasons. 1. Practical reasons: CGI is better 2. Lore reasons: main characters are adult and fully trained unlike in the HP movies where they were kids
You either have to see Hagrid or Voldemort in the last movie because that’s where you would see them that’s what I heard in the video and The Genie the woman when she’s a woman would have to join Voldemort somehow Palmer is going to convince her to join him
That movie was supposed to be part of a five movies series but as they mistreated the franchise, they will not likely make the other two... Reading future into animal remains used to be called Necromancy (opposed to the fantasy Necromancy which is to reanimate dead bodies). Madds Mickkelsen was put into Depp's place due to Depp's legal shenanigans, the production got arbitrarily rid of him despite Rowling rooting for him at first... Tina's actress also disagreed with the execs and got removed from the movie (and also got covid in the meantime) Mickkelsen does a good job overall. He's a terrific actor and I like both versions of the character to be honest. The big scorpion thingy is a Manticore, nasty creature. The German Minister for Magic, Vogel, I don't know if he is with Grindelwald of just attempted a gambit to be rid of him with vox populi. A gambit that could really easily turn against him... Dumbledore actually confided to Harry as well, when Harry was in the station thing dream after he let Voldemort kill him (in the books, the movie doesn't show that, unfortunately). Wizards have begun to use voting system recently at that point, they were used to the Qillin method. They don't really have a developped political consciousness at this point. The blood pact breaking might be because oth Grindelwald and Dumbledore turned away from their feelings as well as Dumbledore defending and attack by Grindelwald on his family (not himself directly). If they decided not to do the other two movies, they just could have put the movie in 1945 instead of 1932 and add twenty minutes to it with the epic duel we were all waiting for... But no, they let us on a litteral cliffhanger that will never likely be resolved on screen. Oh JK Rowling didn't write this movie, HP movies screenwriter was hired instead.
I loved this movies because they explain some things that are in the books but were never shown in the movies. Btw, I don´t think they were together, I´m pretty sure grindelwald used dumbledore knowing he loved him.
If you've ever seen a horse or giraffe born, the first thing that comes out is the placenta which holds the foal. The foal tears the placenta with its hooves. When a mammal's water breaks (including humans) that's what breaks, the placenta. It was considered lucky if a baby was born with a *caul,* that is with the placenta not yet burst. That means the baby was going to be a live birth. This was a big deal up until the modern age when medicine assists with birth, because it was just as easy for a baby and mother not to survive childbirth.
Yes, waving your arms around like that is absolutely menacing. It's the same idea behind "manspreading" and a whole bunch of other animals' defense mechanisms and mating behaviors, and it's simple: look bigger. Toads and pufferfish inflate their bodies, snakes and lizards use hooding, and little babymen take up as much space as they can. Being big means you're a threat to fight or challenge to eat to predators. It means you're healthy, formidable, and strong enough to lead and protect a family to potential mates. But also, the woman was fucking with him. 😂
There's two more movies coming out and it'll end with the duel between Dumbledore and Grindlewald that Dumbledore is so famous for winning and that's how he gets the elder wand and as for quickly explaining all these things about Dumbledore and Grindlewald I think that since most of this information is in the books and they've been out for years they just assumed most people know this stuff already as for killing off Credence well Ezra Miller's not looking very good in the public eye right now so
If Dumbledore and Grindelwald have gone decades without seeing each other since that duel, when would they have made that vow to never fight each other? If they made it before the duel, how are they alive?
The duel was retconed : in the movie albus said that Grindelwald didnt fight ans was just laughing, while in the book he clearly stated that Grindelwald took part in the duel
Love this movie. Even as a big Johnny depp fan i think this person did a much better job. But grindelwald didnt have a symbol, and they are sending "his" symbol up in the air to vote and it bothers me
As a book reader, I just couldn’t like this movie🙈. For me it just doesn’t match. Why would Dumbledore be chosen as a worthy leader by the Qilin, if throughout the HP books its pointed out many times he cannot handle power all too well. He even says so himself. Furthermore, the whole “Credence being a Dumbledore thing…”. It just makes no sense to me that Dumbledore suddenly has this nephew we never hear of again throughout HP. (I get it, fantastic beasts was written later, but still). Also Queenie apparently regrets her decision immediately? I feel like it’s all a bit rushed (but somewhat slow as a movie indeed haha!) Anyway, it’s definitely enjoyable, but as a hardcore bookreader, I just feel a bit… disappointed. But I think if you have not read the books, it’s a fun movie to watch. And I still enjoy the magic 😁. And loved your commentary, as always!😃
Dumbledore / Grindlewald romance / obsession is one of those *mildly* amusing ideas. It makes a limited amount of sense that a young and gay Dumbledore might be into a bad boy wizard - provided that the dude didn't have too much of a criminal reputation before they met (... as if there aren't enough girls that are into serial killers for some reason). But even so... I'm not sure how much that really adds to Dumbledore's own story, and I'm not sure how coherent it is with the story of someone who ends up become a wise old person (not that Dumbledore was ever all that *wise*, he was more of a wizened figure than a wise one if you really think about it...)
the reason Mads is Grindelwald in this and not Depp is because this is before his trial with Amber Heard so WBs and Disney etc had all sacked Depp and therefore Grindelwald needed to be recast
I really want a new actor to play Grindelwald for the next one. So we get a one actor for each movie, kinda like the the role of Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts on Hogwarts
As much as I enjoyed watching the Fantastic Beasts films, the second and third kinda flopped imo. By the time the third came out I had genuinely forgotten that I watched the second one, its never been very memorable to me, and the introduction of Nagini very much confuses me since she did not appear in the third film. It just leaves me questioning how she went from Credence’s friend to Voldemorts horcrux. I also… didn’t really like the ‘Dumbledore is pure of heart’ plot point because… is he? Throughout the Harry Potter films he’s secretive, manipulative and looking out for his own goals more than anything else - he leaves a child in an abusive household for years!! It felt like it was pandering the message of ‘Dumbledore’s great’ when we already know that. Characters more shown to be pure, at least in my opinion, are Newt (and his unending empathy for creatures scorned and mistreated by the rest of the wizarding world) or Jacob (and his consistent helping of his friends and others - what, with his whole goal being to open a bakery to bring others some joy and then his wholesome wonder at Newt’s creatures).
The most infuriating part of this movie is that Albus hasn't won Grindelwald's wand yet. As for Aurelius not seeming to get catharsis, remember the end of _Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix_ ? The beginning of _Half Blood Prince_ ? Harry looked a mess after the fight at the Ministry and the media were shooting his pictures all over the place. He didn't look like he had much catharsis there.
I like this movie, but I do not 'love' this movie. It's good, it has spectacle. I know that there were meant to be five movies in this franchise, ending in 1945 with the huge duel between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, but we might not see it because of box office return. Though there is yet a possibility, because of merchandising. Wizarding World is so big with merchandising that even a normal box office reception can bring a good return.
This was the only time I have ever apologised to my friends for picking the movie to see. It was just awful. I still remember my audience laughing when they played the hogwarts music for like the 5th time in the film to milk the nostalgia feel...
I didn’t dislike the movie either. Had some some good stuff in it. Sadly the whole franchise under performed and we may never see the conclusion. It didn’t help that all the bad publicity (many believed Heards allegations at that point) around Johnny Depp was believed to have negatively impacted the box office of The Crimes of Grindlewald so they recast him with Mikkelsen. I wonder what this would have done had it been released with Depp still as Grindlewald right after he was vindicated.

Any idea when the next in the series is?
@@seanmalloy0528 No one knows since this movie didn’t do so well compared to the other movies in the franchise with box office sales and has mixed audience reception of good and bad, it may seem like this franchise might not continue.
Correct. They announced there would be no more movies in the series.
@@RCanadian they did not announce anything. It's just implied by the studio's silence.
@@RCanadian David Yates, the director and producer, specifically did _not_ say that. He said the projects were parked and they have no current plans. He said the creative team is proud of SoD, despite lackluster returns, but they need to pause and take it easy. @@MontgomeryWenis My bad, but I thought the studio said otherwise.
I love all of these movies. I dont care too much on the whole lore of everything. Im just hear to see all the characters interact with eachother and the comedy that jacob brings to it all and the magic. I just enjoy reliving the magic of the wizarding world.
Same I enjoyed the characters especially newt as a whole
ngl when I saw this in theaters, I was sure the Qilin was gonna bow to Jacob, especially because they set that up earlier in the scene where he's playing with it and even before that when he first gets recruited. I was kinda disappointed to see it go to Dumbledore
Same, it would've created a much more interesting scene if it bowed to a Muggle.
Yeah! No shot Dumbledore is pure at heart
@@Anika0308 Yeah, seeing as this world is set in the olden days it's probably still illegal to be gay at that time. And so 'the crimes of Grindelwald' wouldn't be crimes in a more modern society. Dumbledore is just as guilty of these 'crimes' too
I just figured it didn't because Jacob was muggle/No-Maj and the Qilin somehow sensed that, after all it did clearly like him.
@@ctakitimu What are you talking about? The Qilin doesn't judge based on laws
Deeply saddened by HOW the role was passed on and the circumstances - truly a disservice to Depp 😢
So sad Tina isn’t in this one much but…well … bless Angie for seemingly being unaware of all the politics revolving the franchise and it’s author
I wasn't disappointed in Depp, and I certainly loved Mikkelson in the role, I am just pissed they probably aren't continuing the series
The fact that you were really confused shows how this franchise failed. It’s suppose to make sense for the hardcore fans along with the casual ones.
I was soooooo confused when I saw this in theaters
I think it's because there are a lot of talking in the movies, although we just need to wait and see until the end

I remember only feeling remotely something three times during the film:
The swiveling scene made me giggle.
Shame about the technical issues with the premiere, but at least the commentary itself is still on here 🙌🏻
Dumbledore actually wins the elder wand from Grindelwald, it should be shown in their big showdown in 5th Fantastic Beasts movie (in the year 1945) but we don't even know if 4th and 5th movie will be made because of how criticized the 2nd and 3rd one were
The fact that he did it is actually known from the beginning of book/movie 1, when Harry is with Ron on train to Hogwarts and they are talking about chocolate frogs and famous wizards cards, Harry gets Dumbledore's card where the battle with Grindelwald is mentioned
When a wizard like Yusuf walks into the enemy camp, he could be double-crossing, yes. OR he could be pulling a Snape. If he is not on the enemy’s side, he still has to _pretend_ to be- if he wants to remain alive, much less accomplish anything undercover.
The story went to a place I never expected to be honest. Loved this reaction Ange!
I love Johnny depp but Mads Mikkelsen should have been casted since the first movie, he's just perfect for the part. It's shame that he had just one movie in this role but they really messed up the other characters :(
Great commentary, love your channel
Grindelwald was recast as depp lost the UK trial so he appelled it in the US meening he couldn't film in the UK, plus due to covid there is was to long of a brake. So he was recast, he did film a few scenes though so he was payed in full

Fun fact the French follower of Grindawald is called Vinda Rosier a French pure blood family from which Druella Black mother of Bellatrix Lestrange Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy came from
So Grindawalds most committed follower is related to Voldemorts last best lieutenant
I think its a good movie ... idk why people are criticizing it so much
I’ll say this fantastic beasts movie was ok but it’s not the greatest for sure but I liked some of the creature designs in this one. This one is pretty much up and down. That’s what I give this movie. So glad to keep watching these videos. 😄

@@jaunbeltza7661 okay, then first on-screen
This movie hits different for people who only watched the movies and for those who also read the books religiously.
I'm so happy you get to have a new thing with your sister though, Ange!!
You said everything!! I also think people's opinion on this movies is not based on watching but on others business and not the on the actual movie
Even if there's no fourth movie, I think the effects of this one are absolutely amazing!😁
The movie is trying to be diverse here, inadvertently making Grindewald and Dumbledore gay in this movie, although there may have been hints in the previous movie.
Also, I think the fire was to symbolize Dumbledore's world burning to dust around him.🔥
Tbh, I don't know how Eddie looks so young. Some actors take care of themselves enough to look younger.🥰❤️
I think you're going to find out what the "deer" creature is soon enough, Ange, lol.😅

@@seanmalloy0528 It wasn't in the books, it was established by JK separately after the books were all released. It was long before these films though.

Yes, it is finally out
YAYYYY, it's fixed!
This one should have been called Grindelwald's Crimes.
the magic portrayed is much better because of 2 main reasons.
1. Practical reasons: CGI is better
2. Lore reasons: main characters are adult and fully trained unlike in the HP movies where they were kids

Tina's actress also disagreed with the execs and got removed from the movie (and also got covid in the meantime)
Mickkelsen does a good job overall.
This moment where Dumbledore gives three points to Hufflepuff is so satisfying.
I loved this movies because they explain some things that are in the books but were never shown in the movies. Btw, I don´t think they were together, I´m pretty sure grindelwald used dumbledore knowing he loved him.
Thought you'd love the Newt Dance 😂
If you've ever seen a horse or giraffe born, the first thing that comes out is the placenta which holds the foal. The foal tears the placenta with its hooves. When a mammal's water breaks (including humans) that's what breaks, the placenta.
It was considered lucky if a baby was born with a *caul,* that is with the placenta not yet burst. That means the baby was going to be a live birth. This was a big deal up until the modern age when medicine assists with birth, because it was just as easy for a baby and mother not to survive childbirth.
There is a theory that credence is snape which would be kinda cool
Warner Brothers did Johnny Depp dirty by kicking him out but I prefer Mads as the Grindelwald. Mads and Jude have the connection and chemistry
Greate Job Angie !!!!!
Do you know that Luna Lovegood husband Rolf Scamander is Newt grandson?
Magical sugar cube! 😂 Like a magic 🍄
There's gonna be 5 in total. Also this movie was a 10/10 for effects
There's two more movies coming out and it'll end with the duel between Dumbledore and Grindlewald that Dumbledore is so famous for winning and that's how he gets the elder wand and as for quickly explaining all these things about Dumbledore and Grindlewald I think that since most of this information is in the books and they've been out for years they just assumed most people know this stuff already as for killing off Credence well Ezra Miller's not looking very good in the public eye right now so
Sorry to say those movies aren’t coming most likely.
If Dumbledore and Grindelwald have gone decades without seeing each other since that duel, when would they have made that vow to never fight each other? If they made it before the duel, how are they alive?
The duel was retconed : in the movie albus said that Grindelwald didnt fight ans was just laughing, while in the book he clearly stated that Grindelwald took part in the duel
it was supposed to be a series but rn its up in the air if they'll continue this series as this one didn't preform well at the bo office
Angelina drinking out of a jar has jack sparrow vibes. If you know, you know.
Love this movie. Even as a big Johnny depp fan i think this person did a much better job. But grindelwald didnt have a symbol, and they are sending "his" symbol up in the air to vote and it bothers me
It’s supposed to be a series is going to be five films with this being the third
I feel like it’s all a bit rushed (but somewhat slow as a movie indeed haha!)
Anyway, it’s definitely enjoyable, but as a hardcore bookreader, I just feel a bit… disappointed. But I think if you have not read the books, it’s a fun movie to watch. And I still enjoy the magic 😁.
And loved your commentary, as always!😃
Teddy is just adorablee 🤭🤭🤭
Cadence looks like snape
It's Credence.
I'm not sure how much that really adds to Dumbledore's own story, and I'm not sure how coherent it is with the story of someone who ends up become a wise old person (not that Dumbledore was ever all that *wise*, he was more of a wizened figure than a wise one if you really think about it...)
i THINK theres more F.B movies coming
the reason Mads is Grindelwald in this and not Depp is because this is before his trial with Amber Heard so WBs and Disney etc had all sacked Depp and therefore Grindelwald needed to be recast
I really want a new actor to play Grindelwald for the next one. So we get a one actor for each movie, kinda like the the role of Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts on Hogwarts
Thats dumb
That wouldn't make sense
That would be actually funny but new enemies should be used.
Omg, you didn't have go so hard on me! 😂
OMG IM SO SORRY ANTON
Lol, dogs are born the same way in a membrane. And you help the mother so she can lick the puppy's so they can breathe.
It’s not a trilogy, I think there will be a 4th movie and after that the story ends in the 5th one
Imagine taking depps job thinking you're gonna do something
You see Grindewald for a brief moment in the Harry Potter movies.
I didn’t do any collaboration with this channel
Yes they recasted Johnson Depp because of the Amber Herd BS, but I think Mazz Mikkelsen does a super good if not better job
This was the only time I have ever apologised to my friends for picking the movie to see. It was just awful. I still remember my audience laughing when they played the hogwarts music for like the 5th time in the film to milk the nostalgia feel...
Honestly I never got tired of the music even though this movie was bad
I still can't get over seeing Hannibal Lecter in a Harry Potter movie💀
Johnny Depp made Grindelwald feel EVIL but this new actor was just more plot driven to only rule the world.
Brown pretty eyes, like me, too. 😅
