Dubbed as, “The Ultimate Sleeper” - this 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne Custom is powered by a new 496 V8 engine with 562hp and new Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission. The Chevrolet Biscayne was produced between 1958 and 1975. The fourth generation was produced between 1965 and 1970. The Biscayne was named after Biscayne Bay near Miami, FL following a trend by Chevrolet at the time to name cars after coastal cities or beaches such as the Bel Air and later Malibu. Biscayne’s were produced primary for the fleet market tough they were also available to the general public. They appealed to those who wanted a low-cost, no-frills transportation with the convenience, room and power of a full-size automobile. While most Biscayne’s were sold with a six-cylinder engine through the late 1960’s, the V8 engine became the more popular power plant by the early 1970’s.
The exterior factory design is simple but very classy at the same time. Since the car was a California car up until a few years ago it was rust free. It retains its entire factory original sheet which is very straight with very good gap lines throughout. The hood, doors and trunk shut solid. It was re-finished in a Burgundy color that dresses it well. The beautiful paint was recently detailed to a show quality finish. The paint does have an imperfection under the clear coat on the hood and driver’s side rear quarter. It retains its entire original factory Safety-Flo-Lite stamped glass which is in good condition with only minor signs of wear. The front and rear glass stainless trim was lightly restored. The car rolls on painted matching 14” steel wheels with chrome center hub caps. The B.F. Goodrich Silvertown 8.00-14 front tires and MH Racemaster 8.00/8.50 -14 rear tires are all brand new.
The interior is very spacious and comfortable. The white headliner, red dash and black and silver gauge cluster contrasts very nicely. The rear corner sill panels do have some waves in the material. The sill plates, wood steering wheel, door panels, door handles, window rollers and red carpeting was replaced new. The two-tone red and pattern designed upholstery on seats is appears to be original with some signs of wear on the top back of the driver’s side bench seat. It’s equipped with front and rear seat belts for safety. It has a factory style in-dash tachometer which is in great working order. A set of Stewart Warner gauges for the oil pressure and temperature were recently installed. A set of new black carpeted floor mats were recently added. The trunk compartment was beautifully restored and re-finished with the correct style trunk splatter paint. It’s equipped with a matching full size spare with B.F. Goodrich Silvertown 8.00-14 tire and jack tools.
The factory-like engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The firewall, inner fenders and radiator support was re-finished in satin black. Items like the windshield wiper motor, windshield washer fluid container, GM hoses and Delco battery topper keep the original looking appearance. The heart of this car is a new 496 V8 engine that was dyno tuned with 562 horsepower and 624 lb-ft torque. The engine was installed by MS CLASSIC CARS and a dyno sheet is included. It was built by well-known Nat’s Engine located in Swansea, MA. This objective with the engine was to build it to have high horsepower but be 9.9 to 1 compression so it would run excellent on pump gas. The engine breathes through 427/425hp factory manifolds with factory replacement Gardner dual exhaust system. The engine is coupled to a new Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission that was installed by MS CLASSIC CARS. It’s equipped with a McLeod flywheel, McLeod Street Extreme Clutch and Performance Parts offset shifter with Hurst shift handle. It’s also equipped with a custom steel driveshaft with Billet Yokes and 1350 U-joints. The power is transferred to the GM 12-bolt Eaton Truetrac rear end with 3.73 Motive gears that was installed by MS CLASSIC CARS.
The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. The underside was re-finished in satin black which looks great. The factory steering system was completely gone through. The fuel system was also completely gone through including a new factory fuel tank. It’s equipped with all new factory suspension including rear adjustable upper control arms. It’s also equipped with a new Right Stuff power front disc brake conversion which also includes the master cylinder and brake booster.

I'd like to have the austere version...a 283 with an automatic, just for a town cruiser.
