I agree, I run my KZ1000 with no baffle and it turns head everywhere, I don’t think it so much because it’s loud but people just aren’t used to hearing this type of engine passing by anymore, very distinctive sound these air cooled 2 valve inline fours have.
I love old bikes that been sitting and neglected and you bring it back to life and you ride it around. You just have a special connection to that motorcycle
Have one myself...... 1979 1000S. Bought it in 1984. Now approx. 100 000 k´s. Ride every summer, nice bike. Few mod´s: 1085cc + Wiseco pistons, High flow cylinder head from Moto Speed tuning Vaesteraas Sweden, Ohlins + rear swing from GSX1100 -81. Won´t sell it, my son got his license last year..... Have a nice time - Merry Christmas !
Loved mine. Rode from north side of Chicago to Fort Lauderdale in the spring of 81. Wish I never sold it to a friend who had a accident and totaled it. Best handling and braking bike I ever owned.
I bought a 1972 sporty with 3800 miles in northern Ontario. The father got it for his son and the lad died one year after, blue and white it ,sat in the shed for decades I still have it.
Now that's a bike...one of my fav 80s super bikes comparing with the likes of XS11, Z1R, etc. That fairing is so cool. When bikes were a massive chunk of metal.
I had two GS100's and one Kawasaki 1980 Z1R. The Suzuki's were faster, smoother and much better handling. But I still miss that old Z1R. The Suzuki's were well refined gentlemen. The Z1R was a hoodlum. All of them were supremely comfortable on a cross country trip.
I ride a '78 GS1000 in the UK. Standard apart from uprated brakes (Kawa GPX600). It is quite simply one of the best bikes I've ever ridden ! Conti Classic Attack tyres make it handle and lean like Wes (well. sort of).
i owned the same bike 33 years ago gs 1000 four into 1 bike was fun the first couple of weeks i owned it .........once ridden a few times it didnt feel real quick ringing its neck thru the gears ......reliable bikes thou...i sold it not long after they have nothing on the fuel injected 1000 these days .i have rode ....great memories thou
The sound of the bike reminds me of my uncles Suzukis when I was a kid. My dad would put me on the back when I was 6-7 and absolutely rip down the highway.
Classy, that 1200 Kawi that gentleman had a few days ago was the pinnacle for me but this is in that class. The FJ Yammie wasn't far behind & was probably the best touring bike of the 3. That chrome kerker w/ a big bore Japanese bike is music to my ears.
Beautiful bike there!! Like your vids! But what's with the little black spots or holes up near the top of the side covers? I've seen a few 1000s in my time, don't remember seeing that before.
Wow that kerker sounds great I had a kerker k2s on my 84 550 ese it was the best sounding bike in town I ride a 1800 wing now but still miss that kerker sound love it !!
One truly gorgeous and bad ass vintage Sportbike! Fine looking. This bike has so low of miles, that it's just practically been broken in. 😲😲😲😲😲...If I were rich, I'd buy it from you right now! Just a gorgeous bike, and the Epitome of Vintage Sportbikes, with a whole lotta muscle! Y'all can put it under my Christmas Tree, if you can't sell it. 😂🤣
I had One of these back in 1985 (if I remember correctly) I still have a picture of me and my then Girlfriend on it, But I wish I could afford to buy another now! think I paid around £2k for mine, but more like £10 k now, would love to review One on my channel though 😁
Love this channel....watch all your videos....but that seat is not original.....and also has some beautifully simple.... and well executed using mostly stock parts.... rear set pegs ...like we all did back in the day.
@@KaplanCycles Nothing but respect for you and your Museum....Love watching all your work on these classics....but that is not the original seat....it has been stepped...and recovered.....again....thanks for all your great content....from UK.
@@KaplanCycles Pegs are swapped left to right to give more rear set footrests...and levers altered to suit....Honestly Mr Kaplan....as said...Brilliant channel.
Wow!!! That is one beautiful beast right there and it sounds fantastic. The colors are spectacular.
I can’t think of many bikes that sound better than this era👍
Yep, this era had the best sounding bikes, they sound mean and raw. Nowadays they sound like sewing machines.
Cbx1100 ;)

@@BreakStuffClub yup... that sound not only turned heads but kept me from getting side-swiped out on the highway countless times, on my '82 GPz 550.

Imagine being the dude that rolled out of the Suzuki dealership on this STUNNER in 1980. Probably just as Glorious as the dude who gets it in 2022🏆
I was one and it hurts every time I see one now. I miss it sooooooo much. Sold it for $1500 now $25,000

Definitely one of the strongest engines of that Era. This and the Kawasaki 900 ruled the dragstrip . Can't go wrong with this bike . PK

More memories flooding back from 1993 as I had a Suzuki GS 1000 absolutely loved it!
That’s a beautiful bike thanks for sharing!
Amazing. That bike was well taken care of. Not even a crack on the seat. Sounds awesome.

That’s beautiful. Gotta love that Kerker sound! Had one on my CB750K2 and one on my 78 Kaw. Z1R.
The v65 magna or sabre might be in my opinion the best looking motorcycle I've ever seen in my life. I love square headlights
That's outstanding! And what a beautiful fall day to ride in New England

Bike definitely got the Wiz-, (my bad) Manic-tune... just listen to that exhaust note come down as soon as it's revved.
Beautiful bike. Thanks for sharing.
another piece of artwork
what an absolute beauty! classic.
Beautiful old beastie
That’s fantastic!
Yes please….Santa, I’ve been a good boy this yr.
Wow🔊《☆》👍🔥That seat is like a Livingroom Sofa🖖😎☮
That clutch is huge.
Has to be one of the best jobs in the world!

Wes Steve ran at Mosport lots of fun. Great guy. rip.
Back when men were men, and ABS was something you worked on to impress the ladies. 😎
Sounds amazingly, love ❤️ Kerker
That’s a nice looking bike.
Is there a video link for the one previously raced?
What kind of boots do you wear? I really like to buy the same ☺️☺️☺️

Wes cooley yes, black and gold no
There we go!!
That thing sounds sweet
All these killer bikes so much to say🇺🇸
Waiting for you to pull out a 500cc two-stroke GP bike.... 😄 I have a feeling you'll find one of those, first.
Dayum. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
BAD ASS RACE REPLICA !!!

Sorry but your wrong, this is the original 1980 seat. The manic mechanic made the same mistake but he has now comfirmed it is original
Pegs are 100% stock

Now there's a crotch rocket you can set your watch to.
Where did you get those toecutter boots? lol
....sheesh, guess I'll have to donate blood and sell a kidney :D
Suzuking.
Anyone that rides away with that is privileged and will wear smiles for miles inside their helmet
This reminds me of the mad max bikes 🤘🤘
Please get this man a go pro on the helmet 🪖 would love to see the bike from his POV thanks love the videos .
Reminds me my 900 CB Honda.
Not sure how I feel about this one smfh lol yikes.!
One thing ive noticed alot is you guys dont rev up your bikes to insane rpm.
