@@gothickah0 Yup. iPad mini is probably hitting the bare minimum specs for apple intelligence which means in the future when apple intelligence becomes more fleshed out and feature heavy the mini will not be supported quicker.
If apple made ipad mini pro with even just the M1, promotion and better battery and priced it like the air 13”, I think people would still buy it, and I’d be interested too, the size is just really convenient for a lot of people
It is definitely a fun little iPad, perfect size to roll around with it in your hand. I would be curious about a mini pro version, it does have a place in the world and the die hard mini fans would love it. Thanks for watching and the comment Ruzzel Jean✌️
I grabbed the Air M2 11” very happy with the size. Coming from the iPad mini 5 I thought I wanted another mini but I primarily watch content on my iPads so I figure a bigger screen would improve that experience. Happy with my decision.
nice, love hearing the upgrade is working out. I took the same route and haven't looked back last year. The mini is fun but 11 inch for me is perfect. Thanks for letting us know Juhsentuh! Much appreciated ✌️
Its the otterbox case for the mini, link in the video description. Its ok. Pitaka cane out with a nice one also, worth checking out. Thanks for watching!
The air is a better device objectively, but the size differences are too noticeable, I think most people searching for an iPad know they want either the normal tablet size or the mini one and that one key difference will be the key factor for most people when choosing a model. Also I do think, anyone who's not sure which size is better for them should go for the Air. The mini is a very niche product, that's why apple only keeps it in the iPad, they killed the mini iPhone for this reason. And so, anyone who's going to get the mini already knows they want that mini size and it's the most important feature for them out of anything else
I think it depends what you’re using it for. I have the iPad mini 6, only for streaming. If I was going to use it for any type of productivity, I think the mini is too small. But the mini is a baller for streaming
Nice Joe! I am definitely finding the love for the mini again, been carrying it around with wherever I go haha. Thanks for checking out the vid and mentioning the streaming, it really is great for that. Take care!
My 2017 iPad Pro is not long for this world, so probably going to get a mini to replace it in the not too distant future. I love the size and it has all the power I need as a secondary device. My country got a ~30% price increase in 2022 so these little things are not exactly inexpensive. Makes buying the correct device even more important. Thanks for the comparison.
Yo yo Martin! I think you will love the mini, been really growing on me again over the week. Such an easy little ipad to have on you, and the a17 helps out a bunch. Seems much snappier and responsive than the 6. Hope your weekend is going well and thanks for checking out the new vid. Good luck getting the mini!
Nice video. So, I have an IPad Pro M2 12.9” for home use, and the IPad Mini 6 for portability. Thinking of getting either the mini 7nor iPad Air M2 11”. How is the iPad Air 11” for portability? I have a slim tablet bag. Can’t decide between the mini or air. Besides portability of the mini, Inwould like a bit of a larger screen. I would only use either for media consumption: RUclips, Netflix, email, notes. Any suggestion?
I still don’t know which one :( I have jointpain and sold my 12.9 inch pro 2018 yesterday. Not sure if air 11 inch will be also too heavy and mini too small ?? I am sooooo lost 😅😅 I want to do journaling, social media, RUclips etc. but also take it with me when travelling
for weight I would give the mini a shot. it might be the perfect size for lots of those things you mentioned. YouTubing and socials is a great way to use it. Journaling and doodling in it with the pencil pro would also be really fun on the go. Maybe check them out in store or take apple up on their easy 2 week return policy, they want you to enjoy your purchase to. Thanks for watching and good luck with the joint pain, hope a smaller device helps🤞
@@TheFloodLightShow I was in Apple Store today 😅 air is 600 g with case and pen and feels heavy but mini journals looks weird and there is always a lot of empty space instead of fitting in landscape on the whole page.
I recently purchased an M2 iPad Air 11-inch. I previously had an iPad mini 5 but felt the screen was too small for streaming. I upgraded to the Air because I prefer using accessories like the Magic Keyboard and having a larger screen. Given my usage habits, I didn’t see the need to consider any of the Pro models.
It's a nice little case. I am not a fan of the apple smartfolios so always go with this one. The pencil spot is a little strange but good edge protection all around. Only one way to stand it up though, thats the main drawback I run into with the Symmetry. Thanks for checking out the vid Shane!
yes, they both can. But the Air is better here, because it can work as a second screen, it supports proper external monitor support, while the mini can be connected to monitors/tvs, it will ONLY mirror what's on the iPad with some bezels around, so only useful in very specific moments. Air is a better choice in this case, it has proper external support. For casting they work pretty much the same
Wrong numbers mate : “When measured against the more premium models, the iPad mini 7 holds its own against the iPad Air with M2. It's actually 9% better on the single-core result, but falls behind 31% when it comes to multi-core. The M4 chip in the iPad Pro outpaces the lot, with the A17 Pro being 23% behind on single-core testing, 48% on multi-core.”
Why not both? 😉 Heh heh. Seriously tho, I’m an artist and have both an iPad Pro AND an iPad mini 7. The larger iPad Pro is my main content creation device, but when I really wanna travel light, I always grab my iPad mini. It’s really the perfect digital sketchbook when on the go. It slips into my jacket or cargo pants pocket so easily. My iPad Pro is from 2018 and still going strong. If the iPad Air had been available then, I might have gotten it instead. Besides the OLED screen, there is not much difference btwn the two.
I think you might be right. It is nice to have both sizes. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you dont 🤷🏼♂️ Thanks for watching and the comment Regan ✌️
16 Pro has A18 chip, so ipad Mini 7 doesn’t have the same chip with 16 Pro, instead it is same with iPhone 15 Pro. Just correction for your statement in the video.
I'm not sure the air is worth it, you're better off getting an iPad Pro M1 12.9" refurb with the gorgeous miniLED display at a lower price. The mini is a totally different device though, I love my mini for consumption and my larger iPads for single tasking, I'm enjoying the change from 11" to 12.9" personally :)
That's a good point DigiDrift, there are so many different variants of the iPad now since they are releasing slight increases every year. Lots of deals to be found. The refurb section is an iPad goldmine these days. Thanks for checking out the vid and the comment, much appreciated!
@ I bought a 12.9” 512gb m1 with 5g for £500, an m4 version is £1500 - so 1/3 of the price for 90% of the functionality :) the air here is like comparing a ford KA to a Porsche :)
Can anyone give me some advice Here's my story :- I am an engineering student, so I think most of the tasks can be done in a laptop from projects to entertainment, I have a samsung tab s7fe 12,4 inch model, which I used for note taking but my college restricts any device in the classroom so I have to use pen and paper now my usecase for a tablet is gaming and reading and I love to read comics , manga in my tablet but my tablet is so big and heavy I want a small tablet I never used 11inch model so I dont know how it will give me an experience in reading Ipad Air m2 model is a money worth product, but does it fit for my use case Ipad mini 7 is good for reading , portable Ipad Air m2 is good for gaming , streaming Which one should I buy ?
11 inch is too big for a nice reading experience for both manga and books. I just tried with a Galaxy Tab A9+, and I didn't like it, any smartphone would work far better for that.
I would suggest the new iPad mini 7 as it's much easier to hold in one hand and ultimately gives a better reading experience. Also more portable as well.
I was just thinking that today lol. They are getting inexpensive enough that two new iPads equal 1 iPad Pro lol. Crazy times for sure. Thanks for checking out the vid Victor!
I buy the mini 7 for its form size alone. I need bigger screens to see stuffs as I get older while enjoying some form of portability with a stylus. Foldable phones or Samsung S24 Ultra are just too expensive.
People buy the iPad Mini for its compact size, so please stop suggesting they buy another iPad, like the 11-inch model, just because it might be on sale
I don’t get that people think it’s important that the mini should have a powerful chip as the M2…. It’s a mini. It’s designed or made for heavy editing or powerful work. This is basically THE iPad for the everyday usage. Perfect size to hold inning hand while laying on the couch; perfect size for a flight or in the car. This is not the perfect size for anything work related. Even just typing would be too smallpox a screen for me
Air 11” 2024 obviously and it cost just slightly more. Why would I get Mini which has A17 pro chip which isn’t even the same as 15PM chip. Air obviously a lot better value over MINI
I just made my decision, i go for ipad Air M2 for longivity, productivity and power. Can't go wrong with M2.
Why do you think air is lasting longer than mini ?
@ M2 chip can handle more in the future. While A17 is an Iphone chip.

“Consumption” the most overused word in tech
Still $759 for a 4 year old device vs (current sale price) $500 for the Air. Not exactly as straight up as you say.
