I was hoping it would sound better, but it sounds a bit bland on some tracks. This could just be the recording. I have listened to the R3 MK1 with a 300 watt amplifier and it sounded great. Always difficult to tell on You Tube.
hello. currently I play on hegel h390 and revival audio atalante 5 + stands. speaker cable is naim nac a5 (4m), power cable tellurium black 2 (2.5m) I wonder if if I changed my speakers to kef r3 meta, would such a set play better. After recording you can hear that there is bass despite small speakers and the rest of the range plays lively. apparently kef and hegel are a good combination. And how is it live?
I will be doing a review on the new arcams in the next week or so , so I will let you know what my thoughts are , I'm a big fan of hegel but these new arcams are something else
Слушал Kef r3 со своим Hegel h190. Не понял восторженных отзывов по этой связке. Звук темный, грязный, в салоне слушали через Apple music, qobuz, подключали проигрыватель винила. Громкость нужно выкручивать до 80, баса нет. Prodigy играло с пластиковыми призвуками. Или я чего-то не понимаю…..
@@pmizz7959 I went to a show, and wharfedale were paired with audiolab not my first choice . I think there is an element of people been told what sounds good, your music your money ..
aweful combo 😢 Kef R3 can do soooo much better. Your dac and amplifier gear have too many active electronics in them that suck all available power, not much is left to amplify actual sound output... it sounds dull and dry. For example my Denon has pure analog mode when it disable electronics such as: chips, display, dacs... and it really makes a difference.
It is neutral in terms of a clearness and phase integrity. I think you like a "processed" sound. These KEF drivers have NO bumps or deeps on a FR graph, have absolutely identical FR shape from different angles, and KEF's crossover results with a very linear phase. With these drivers your hear a COMPLETE sound. When any low freq punch ends with some highs, that NOT a bright sound, but instead you have an experience with a different one, when highs from the same punch are muffled at all or go in a second after the punch ends.
I think he means artificial - I have Kef r-3 meta and dyaudio evoke 10 and I think the r-3 sound slightly artificial to the dyaudio. Slightly stident/slightly strident - metal tweeter
Many factors could be behind it, since Hegel amps H95, H120, H190.. should be one of the best matching amps with these speakers. I doubt that are these speakers not ramped up yet, could be out of the box with not enough hours of run time behind them? Just wondering, also we are not in the space listening the "actual sound".😮

Hi, If you have to choose between LS60w or the Hegel 190V and r3 meta combo, would would be your choice. First world problems .

тут тоже баса нет?) как по мне тут превалирует бас.. скорее всего дело в плохом источнике сигнала в ваших прослушиваниях...
sounds like drivers are firing thru aluminum pop cans
They sound bad on the Hegel, put a Yamaha or Technics with them and it will transform them . I think Hegel is overrated but that's a personal opinion.
Everything is subjective. The ironic thing is that Hegel is KEFs choice when they demo their speakers at shows. So KEF likes the pairing

It's not my sound :). I like natural sound.
