5 pints of cider, so I hope this makes sense. Thank you for sharing a little genuine British hardware that did its job and as I’ve written before keep it up with the blogs, if only just to keep old chaps like me happy 👍🏻
They used to build them near me at barnbow in crossgates, Leeds. I live about five miles away ....when the wind was in the right direction you could hear the chieftains being tested. And sometimes you'd see them being transported on these massive low loaders....👍👍
Love the sound of the chieftain, I worked briefly at a place with AFV432s, Abbot SPG, Hagglunds. The sound of the 432s on full chat always makes me smile
Spent many a happy hour riding on the MK9 Nubian at RAF Cottesmore in the early eighties only fifty yards from the main runway as Tornado's did airfield bumps & circuits it would be great to see fully restored to its former glory & the Chieftain.
Absolutely love Welland, brilliant weekend. I spotted you in the distance, but didn’t get to say hello. Hopefully catch you at the bar next year 🍻 Keep the films coming 👌🏻 👍🏻
Fantastic to see you turn the chieftain around then standing start back….almost er….track spin lol. I hope you are there next year…if so it’s going in my diary.
Great video Matt. Loved seeing the tank there. It was our first visit to Welland and it didn’t disappoint. Great atmosphere and some outstanding gear to see. Loved it 👍
Surprised the gearbox lasted on the fire vehicle. I remember having to change a gearbox after taking it on a road test after fitting a new gearbox. Not a happy day.
As a youth, one of my best memories was desperately hanging on to the top of an Alvis Salamander doing full speed around the peri track of a certain airfield. The RAF Fire chaps got a major bollocking afterwards and didn't care; just like us cadets they were having fun.
Great video Shame the Union Flag was put on the wrong way. Thick white stripe to the top left of pole. Common mistake but drives me crazy 🤪 it's only flown upside-down if you are in distress at sea or you don't like the Royal Family.
@@keithmoore5224 No Keith it is true trust me I found out early in my 24 years Regular Army Service when I raised the Colours outside RHQ. It cost me 2 weekend duties 😒 I never forgot it. Thanks for the reply mate.
The one that amazed me on pulling on another vid was the mcclarren road roller. Plain wheels didn’t seem to be holding it back any and it had MASS :D Nubian fire engine there is a beast ^-^
@@fittermat I had a interesting conversation about tax and type approval and fire engines having to look like a fire engine (side lockers and stuff remain in place even if middle removed) Personally I thought the squirty water stuff was the best bit of a fire engine :D
Hi mate. I am trying to decide which events to go to to see your vehicles. Will the Centurion BARV etc. that you are taking to Harborough at War also be at Tanks, Trucks and Firepower please ?
Just shows a good L60 is a beast to be reckoned with.Getting the right maintenance,at the right time.No disrespect to REME,but they were never allowed to maintain them adequately
Fantastic. Imagine turning up to an American stadium event with kit over 100 years old and pulling further than some of their crazy modern stuff. I know they'd be a 'bit' down on time but so what.
We have bigger steamers than those. Some of our really huge ones would have pulled the Tank over the hill. How about pulling a 44 bottom Plow. ruclips.net/video/5xDj45zF-l0/видео.html
I think you guys created a new Division for Tractor Pulling, The Unlimited Heavy Armored 120mm Division. Anyone know why the Chief was throwing so much embers out of her stack? It was like a firework show/Tractor pull combo!
I would not want the Chief any where near my fields of corn, or crowds watching! What was the object of the exercise, apart from proving all of them could pull that weight?
Guys GUYS - - - Tank pull Fab no problems :) then why fly the Union Flag upside down LOL :( Should only be flown upside down when vessel in distress. Yeah I know your army and not navy but I had to mention it, Still love you all though :),
Spot the clueless clown in the Fire engine. Why was that Return tractor attached and with brakes applied when the Scammell towed it? Red brake lights don't lie
Just awesome. Thank you. Kind of handy that. Having a fire truck handy to put out fires.
The steam engines spitting embers looked amazing matt loving the content
They really are something special
That was amazing I enjoyed my Tuesday evening thank you.
You know you're shaping when you're sending sparks 100ft in the air.
Oh yes!

Talismans performance was all the more impressive to me as she did it with untreaded tyres. I also appreciated her little “wheelie” on her last pull
Those steam tractor have still got some welly with a bonus firework display!
Some may disagree but I still think the chieftain is the best sounding tank..👌🏻
Got a lot of time for that throaty growl!
god damn the noise of the chieftan, literally music to my ears

Nice addition of the external fuel tanks at the back 👍
Was awesome to see the tank there, hope you boys bring more kit next year too and hopefully get a chance to met you all

i miss not being able to go to things like this , thanks for the great vid
It’s lovely to see you fixing these things, but even better to see them in use.
Yep . . . have to agree with Matt, the old steamers at night with the embers going sky high look unreal
I have one of those Fire Engines they are real monsters!
Spent many a happy hour riding on the MK9 Nubian at RAF Cottesmore in the early eighties only fifty yards from the main runway as Tornado's did airfield bumps & circuits it would be great to see fully restored to its former glory & the Chieftain.
Love the chieftain , had them with us up Catterick . Keep the best engined one and do some open days . Count me in 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Amazing fireworks with that one tractor!
Huge cheesy grin from start to finish! Awesome stuff.
Great video the scammell was a very impressive machine
Oh that sound , so many memories!
1:00 DAF YA328 in the background, you don't see those often in the UK!
Absolutely love Welland, brilliant weekend. I spotted you in the distance, but didn’t get to say hello. Hopefully catch you at the bar next year 🍻
Keep the films coming 👌🏻 👍🏻
The power of fire and water!
The sound of the Chieftain and the fireworks from The Chief 🙂
Fantastic to see you turn the chieftain around then standing start back….almost er….track spin lol. I hope you are there next year…if so it’s going in my diary.
Mark 9 airfield fire engine. Oh the memories. Sounded glorious in the day.
Great video Matt. Loved seeing the tank there. It was our first visit to Welland and it didn’t disappoint. Great atmosphere and some outstanding gear to see. Loved it 👍
I reckon the Chieftain could have pulled the sled over the soil mound at the end of the pull.
Unfortunately there was a load of portloos on the other side of the mound and none of us fancied digging turds out of the tracks
@@fittermat just do a neutral turn in front of the commentators box.
Nice to see and hear a Mk9 running!
Bet a few people had holes in their jackets after the chief spiting embers lol hot rocks
Top stuff I was beside a steam engine at temple newsam. It was like a dinosaur sleeping ever since I have been hooked on steam.
This is very good watching, 'Traction in Action', would like to see Scammell vs Foden off road
Thanks mat absolutely loved it great video
Cool vid, thanks!!
Love the open cab those were the days ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙂
another top video.

Considering the l60 at full chat exhaust was pretty clean

i though only holywood did the same only time to fly the flag upside down if your in distress under attack

Buck up guys flag of the Union😱😱😱
I was thinking the Beach Armoured Recovery Vehicle would have been the best at this
Cracking vid
Great video and nice to bump into you for a beer too! 👍🏻
Steam slaying
Why is the union jack hung upside down?
Because it really annoys people in these comments sections
No stopping the cheiftan hey 👍👍👍

You can keep the tractor pullers… tanks and traction pullers is where it’s ok! Loving the explorer having a go but I’m sure I heard a turbo on it🤔🤔😁
Look your content but this was absolutely awesome
The Chieftain didnt even break into a sweat
I’ve a picture of my dad with a Scammel just like that. Taken in Africa just after the war when he was REME. Arte et Marte.
burnout😄
Driver : Should we drag em up the hill sir?
No EPA. bullshit with the third road engine . l hope little Greta does not see you all having fun , she will not be happy , the tank sounded good
I just see you guys on whistlin diesel
call the Centurion Maximus or Sparticus

it's an old trick .. they shovel saw-dust into the firebox & the chimney ' sucks ' it out on fire .. looks really cool , especially at night
@@888johnmac Ah, Pretty cool.
I've seen em use wheat straw chucked in the fire box too. Gives a bigger longer lasting "sparkler".
😎👍
I would not want the Chief any where near my fields of corn, or crowds watching! What was the object of the exercise, apart from proving all of them could pull that weight?
Some beer tokens changing hands over this…😂👍
One or two!
How would a Chieftain fair against a Russian T72?
I'm really not into steam engines but the Cheif spitting embers out looked the absolute bollocks 👍
They've got the Union flag upside-downon the tank.
Who turns up at a Tpull in a tank to steal the day anyway 😂
Someone who turns up to win!
The Feckin Union Flag is upside down.
You'll be calling us Remmy next.
Oh, you already do.

No offence guys and great pull of the chieftain ..... BUT YOU CANT BEAT STEAM AT NIGHT FOR A GOOD SHOW .... AND FREE FIREWORKS TO BOOT !!

Could you at least learn the correct way up to fly the Union Flag please?
Flown upside down it's either an insult or a distress signal!
Love your videos love the Tanks and Trucks so Patriotic! Problem is you don’t know how to fly the Union Jack flag lol😅
