    This has been an outstanding series. I’ve been shopping around for my first glass boat and this is the best information I’ve found anywhere. Thanks

    Ken, I like the level of detail these reviews go to and the care you take to ensure the viewers understand your rating system is based on your preferences, which may not suit everyone. Each person should set criteria that matches their needs and dreams. I also appreciate the bits of technical knowledge (like cavitation, propeller design, etc.) that are sprinkled throughout this series. Have a great day!

      Simon that's crazy what you just said, I will drop the first video in a series of understanding props and lower units tomorrow!!!!

    The pvs holes on the prop allow the exhaust to go across the prop blades so the blades have less water they are pushing against which allows faster spin up. 2 strokes need the higher rpms for the power curve. 4 strokes dont typically need the pvs holes. I did lots of fiddling with pvs holes when i had my Allison xb21 and Merc 250 2 stroke.

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  2 года назад +1

      I'm just careful at speed, any boat with that sharp a keel angle way forward will do that. It's why they cut rough water so well, but they will turn around on you if you aren't careful

    I’ll tell ya what ken. I’ve been in a ranger all my life. Grew up up in em and swore I’d never own anything but a ranger. But if I bought a new one tomorrow it would be a cat lynx.

    I like that Basscat doesn't make you sit in the floor like some, the seat is higher.
    But, I can't stand the front of them or the general design. That Ranger is beautiful though.

    Hey Ken, I know this is a lot, but if you ever get time after your tin series is finished, you should do an 18/19 ft series. Try out the pantera 2, sabre, phoenix 819, etc.
    Just something I would like to see for us budget dudes. Thanks

    Ken if you are in Baton Rouge or coming through, come play some small ball with me. Baton Rouge country club was re done by Reese Jones and David Toms. It’s almost as good as the course I play in North Carolina that Tom Fazio designed. I have a cottage on the 10th hole.

    Yes, without anyone in the boat, Just thinking that the wind might blow it around a little more even with someone in the front fishing. I know you've been a Ranger for a long time I'm just wondering why you want to get out of the Ranger brand. Is it cost, service, speed or dealer location.
    I had one love it got out of it stopped fishing for a while few years bought a alum. boat now I want to get back in another Ranger. I contacted ranger yesterday to try to get some information with No success. It's crazy

    What a great, informative video! Impressed with this boat! As close to everything I was looking for as any so far. Was that the prop slipping just before it gets on plane? Did that happen when the live wells were empty also or just when full?

    • @KenSmithFishing
      @KenSmithFishing  3 года назад

      crud you know I don't remember, but if you go back in the video the first time he puts it on plane the livewell was empty, so you can probably hear if it did or not

    Oh my gosh! I am watching this video as my husband has it on the TV. This brings back my worst nightmare!!!! I take towels, goggles, and my coat and cover myself as much as possible. I hold my large dogs' collars so they don't blow off the boat! The dogs are loving the high speed of course. This is not enjoyable to go fast! It makes me miserable as my husband enjoys and laughs to the fullest!!!!!

    It will run big water fast and handle stumps with ease. Team Marine Service recently put out a video on it.
