The best part in my opinion is his prayer to Mary in the middle. He says"give me sanctuary please", which in the movie, is what the gypsy said to him
to which Mary basically said, "If you would not allow the innocent Sanctuary, why should I grant it to you?"
Actually. She did. Despite his flaws she answered his prayer. (The person coming in to tell him the girl was gone). She removed the temptation. He then despite being given this undeserved blessing threw it away.
@@janehrahan5116 Hot damn, that's incredible if that was the original intent.
That is nice but, 6:01
I love Jonathan Young! You should check out his Bells of Notre Dame with Caleb Hyles... thats one powerful performance!
10000%
or The Plagues with caleb hyles
Agreed here. Jonathan Young has come a long way between this and Bells of Norte Dame. He is leaps and bounds more bone chilling in it.
What makes it all the more poetic is that he denied sanctuary to Quasimodo's mother, yet here he stands begging for the same thing
The pure desperation for salvation in his voice was just spot on.
More good ones are :
The Bells Of Notre Dame
Deliver Us (Prince Of Egypt)
Be Prepared (Lion King) (He did two versions of this one. The early one is good but the more recent one is phenomenal)
My Lullaby (Lion King 2)
Edit):
In The Dark Of The Night (Anastasia)
Poor Unfortunate Souls (The Little Mermaid)
Agreed with all of this!
Im also a fan of his take on In the dark of the night and Poor unfortunate souls.
Bells of Notre Dame ft Caleb though... that one sends chills down my spine!
@@jessipeculiar Oh my gosh! How could I have forgotten about those two!
@@Shadow46510 to be fair I love every cover he does so you could name any single one and I would just be like HELL YEAH!😁
Johnathan's Dark of the night cover from Anastasia was epic! Turned a cookie villain song into pure nightmare fuel!
anything involving Jim Cummings is far from "Cookie".
His Phantom of the Opera covers with Malinda K Reese are excellent as well.
I love Jonathan's bass register I swear, he can bless us with dragon breath but he only does it on very rare occasion. His highs and screams are crazy as well though.
An Operatic version of madness. I enjoyed it; and this could be a great off-Broadway production. I hear the audience going wild.
Hellfire is my forever favorite Jonathan Young cover and seeing the absolute joy on your face as you listened was so wholesome.
I love the fact that you pointed out those piano arpeggios. The way they accentuate the mood and are so counter to the heaviness of the rest of the instrumental is everything. 🔥
Instant subscribe from me, Dave. 🤘🏼
His collab with Caleb Hyles for The Bells of Notre Dame is amazing.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this was awesome, i made the same Facial expressions when heard the first time!!! The goosebumps were all over when the chorus hit
I get goosebumps every single time. This song is so awesome!
I love Jonathan Young! This version of this song is really incredible and I do love it. It's so powerful! He did a more rock cover of Evermore, and also Eye to Eye (from a Goofy Movie) and they are great. You got lots of other good suggestions I saw, and what you said about metal music makes a lot of sense, because he did some metal Phantom of the Opera songs and they work SO WELL. I love them, some of my fav versions. Great reaction!!
I just recently found Johnathon and I am really enjoying his voice and song choices.
The song is about a man going mad, but the way JY puts so much emphasis on the character adds to its emotional power
This is how I first heard Jonathan Young, I still love it to this day
Yesssss! More Jonathan! Love your reactions man! Not even a minute in and I’m already hyped.
I's really recommend checking out Jonathan Young's and Caleb Hyles' covers of "Beels of Notre Dame" and "The Plagues".^^
I believe the character's name you were looking for was “Judge Claude Frollo”. Jonathan Young did a great job with this one even though he did it from a tablet with the fire effect
I would love to see your reaction to his newest original song "Best Band in the Universe"
It's hilarious
was gonna recommend bells of Notre Dame with caleb but it would seem i've been beaten to the punch :P
great reaction!
You should check out Annapantsu's version of this :P is awe inspiring to hear
Jonathan Young has an original song came out today called Land of the Living, you should totally react!
The vile priest in Hunchback was named Frollo. I remember that by saying "it's not Frodo".
Awesome reaction! I love Johnathan. He's awesome. You should react to AnnaPanstu sing A Friend Like Me. She's awesome.
I also highly recommend his original music. Divided is freaking fantastic.
Savages is also very much worth a reaction :)
I'd love to see your reactions to the Google Translate version of this song and Be Prepared. Jonathan Young vocalizes both of them.
Holy crap! That was intense! In a good way!
The second I saw your reaction to Tomi P's cover of Hellfire, I word for word searched to see if you had a reaction to Jonathan Young's version. SO glad you do!
WOW love it Dave thanks for your reaction 🤗
Wow. “The sun caught in her raven hair.” Hit hard.
Hey there! New subscriber, I came here because I'm a fan of jonathon young but stayed because I like your genuine energy, making my way through your catalogue now but please keep doing what you're doing, I'm liking what I see 👍😊
Excellent reaction as usual, Dave! Jonathan Young is one of my three "daily must hear" artists - the other two are Dan Vasc and Mayki Fabiani. Dan hasn't done this song, but it would be absolutely EPIC by him!
Everything that Jonathan Young Collabs with Caleb Hyles on is GOLD!
also check out Caleb Hyles Rock cover of Hamilton's "Right Hand Man"
You let me get away with my last comment asking about Colm McGuinness, but I have a song specifically this time. Just for the lulz. Jonathan Young and Jason Paige, Pokemon theme song. It's stupid satisfying
My favorite version
Jon young is great at all he does you should definitely check out his original song land of broken dreams
This is the video I found you from. I really enjoyed how you talked about what you liked about his style in detail. This is admittedly like... the 10th time at least that I watch this particular reaction video. I must admit that I'd rather see you do more of music reactions instead of more ERB, because in music you don't have to know certain facts beforehand, and you can just organically tell what you like or do not like in the song. Of course in this one there is the bonus of you knowing the original Disney piece, but the most I still got is how you enjoy the video. And on that note, I'd love to see you react to more stuff like this. Like, Jonathan Young has done so many covers with Caleb Hyles witch are so good. But also there are others. I'd put my wish on that you'd react to "I'll make a man out of you" (the Disney's Mulan song) By Dan Vasc. But I don't want to sound like I want to dictate what you do; if you enjoy ERB, you do you.
I wish you all them good things in life, I enjoy your content.
Here ya go! All my Dan vasc reactions!

@@whatitdodave OMG So good that you have already done it. Now I feel like an ignorant goofball for not checking it out before. Sorry about that. But anyways, I love your content man.
Hellfire is the best Disney villain song hands down.
Facts. Almost. I like “Friends on the other side, in thier Princess and the frog movie haha.
@@whatitdodave oo I always forget about princess and the frog. Friends on the other side is amazing. I watched it about a month ago, and my brain automatically tuned out the original voices and put J. None's and the rest of the voiceplay crews voices in there. Love their cover sooo much.
I am glad to see this bless my RUclips feed, great video!:)
When you get a chance you should check out his cover of Be Prepared.
The villain's name is Count Frollo
The priests name is frollo
I like the madness he shows.
silly question....i wonder if the tears were real or were they effects? if they are real thats some dedication!!! must have really got into the feels of the song
I love his covers of this is Halloween his original and redo of it
Have you watched any Melodika Bros? They do lots of genre switching. And are very talented
.
Please react to his “stand proud” cover of the jojo anime, its old but gold xp
HELLFIRE!
Hellfire; A guy desired a woman and wanted her to either be with him or burn to death. Definitely a villian who deserved to go to Hell himself. He had no virtues in that movie.
Ooo man the original is a creepy song, let's see this
People watching this video: this is a great cover
Me: why does this guy remind me of snoop dog
He has so many songs he's done that are amazing. You should check out his pokemon theme song he does with the original singer.
Need to check out Caleb hyles he is amazing would be to see a amazing video please I know will not see this but apparently to see this man is amazing
Great reaction. XD You should also check out Violet Orlandi's Hellfire cover.
would you like a track thatll give you a ride?
Scardust and their track "Gone".. that will take you for a ride
You should check out his cover of one punch man or through the fire and the rain.
