I think these workstations are quire underrated just because they're expensive but every time I check out a video I get really impressed by the quality of the sounds, combis and synth engines. I bet you can write awsome tracks on them of a lot of genres: electronic, Pop, R&B, experimental, etc.
I like the fact you can switch sounds with no cutoff, thats a great effect.
Korg is the best!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes!!! i love the sounds, especialy the pads/strings pads, and the look is just perfect!! i want one!! :)
Good sounds.Good to hear this playing on the Korg.
I love my Kronos 2, amazing machine,
The long KORG-journey never ends in my life...there's a beast inside each machine they built. The Sequential Circuits-techniques from long ago, embedded, amongst many other models, in their futuristic KARMA, for example...it looks like all KORG-machines are happily 'injected or infected' with this happy virus. Once you start playing 'any' KORG, you'll experience this: there's always a sound behind a sound, an effect behind an effect...arpeggio behind arpeggio...it all developes in 'always' new sounds, with so much emotion and wellness! So...it should be good for your health, to purchase one!
No, not working for the company...just the heart speaking!
JJ Vreemer I have my Korg M1 but it died a natural death 6 ago.
Dynamite Kid Sorry for that! But at least you can still 'look' at it ;~)
Yeah even if it's just paper weight at the moment. haha most of my friends use Korg. Ever since I recommend it, Korg Triton LE, Korg Triton, Korg X5D, Korg Trinity, Korg Kronos 1st. generation. I need to save up for a Korg Kronos 2 88 keys 2015 model. Peace everyone!
JJ Vreemer now that's a true musicians heart! Expressing true passion!
Dynamite Kid Hahaahhh...once you go KORG...nothing else counts...those machines are alive!!! Cheers.
Like the look of this, as if Korg finally nailed it with a big display, pots and joystick while there're some interesting synths engines inside.
Except the display is tiny and terrible UI :(
I'm getting the Kronos2 , 61 key version, next week.
Sounds fabulous.
Are you happy with it? I got KromeEx couple of months ago but although the sound is pretty good the software and control panel is a bit old fashion.
Very great Demo with great Sounds - nice time
Finally, something besides pianos and organs being demoed.
And the Organ engine is about the only disapointing thing about the Kronos, beside the point that its about time Korg puts out a "real" Kronos ver 2.0 with uptodate hardware and software. Still baffles me how much power Korg pulls out of a shitty 10+ year old pc-board with a 32bit linux that only supports 3Gb ram. Time to put a modern mobile i7 board in it. Imagine the power you would have with a 64bit OS .. the amount of polyphonic you would have available. Would gladly pay the extra money it would cost.
3:14 That's Isabel - Il Divo right?
wish i could be that good on the keyboard
Has anyone tried the new 61 keybed ?
I bought one of the original Kronos and the keybed was noisy and the build quality wasn't great.
I hope this has been sorted.
What kind of jazz is the second 6:00 to 7:09?
I love..
wow , great sounding . Is it your composition or improvisation ?
Simply Red is a great song for the Kronos.
2:16 Pink Floyd chords. Beautiful...
WOW
sweeeet!
A great keyboard but 46lbs for a 76 key board is REDICULOUS. I will probably still get one at some point though (AFTER I get my Nord;) ) Played Yamaha my whole life and I think that this is the best workstation on the market right now... even better than my trusty motif
One feature that I do like with the MOTIF (that I am not quite sure if the KRONOS can do) is that you can assign up to 5 types of Arpeggios on dedicated buttons and call up each ARP by pressing any of the buttons any time whether in a performance or voice mode. Does the Kronos have this feature?
+1980sCoverband Check KARMA ;)
+1980sCoverband Yes - 8 Scenes per sequence or combination on dedicated buttons . 1 per Program but you can have 16 programs per setlist screen to quickly access 16 at a time. With Karma external s/w you can have 32 scenes
Thoraldus wow that's awesome!
Wonderful sond and presentation ♫ ( :
At the beginning of the 1st song and at 5:07, he is tapping on the screen as he's playing. What is the purpose?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Kronos. Still learning what it is capable.
1980sCoverband He's tapping the digital Pads which control the backing tracks. There are 8 pads and each pad can have eight notes assigned to them. If tapping or pressing on the touch screen to activate chords is troublesome, the Kronos works perfectly with the Korg nanoPAD2.
at 3:17 what piece of music is that?
+Ben Zeitlin G. Faure: Pavane, Op. 50
6:03 I want to hear the full version but...
really love those lush pads in the 3:20 timeframe
which is better the Korg Kronos 2 or the Kurzweil PC3K8? Thanks and God bless everyone here on RUclips. Peace!
+Dynamite Kid I prefer the Korg by far... lots of powerful functions (there is a PC inside it...) You can load virtually any sound inside it...
the sounds are better on the korg. but the keys keybed are better on the kurzweil. im not impressed by those two boards. so i bought a casio px 5s. for the price alot of things u can do worth the price. and u can save money. try it
+Dynamite Kid Kronos is huge machine and had incredibles sounds but it's depend on your taste .. if you like realistic acoustic guitars or sweety woodwinds go with PCK3 or Yamaha keyboards because I think they are better there
+MegaVoiceTube Thanks for the heads up pal! I use to own a Korg M1 but it died a natural death. I think I need to save up for the Korg Kronos since it's more expensive than the Kurzweil PC3K8. Again thanks everyone for the sound advice. Have a nice day folks!
Dynamite Kid Good luck with your choice
have a nice day .
are those factory sounds out the box?
Jacob Crandall better believe it. SOOO many.
Kronino
Goodless pads!
Thin.
A Jeckyll and Hyde keyboard, if there ever were one: on the one hand, probably the most amazing accumulation of sounds in any keyboard that has ever been made, and in the right hands, capable of something wonderful: but on the other hand, the absolute WORST user friendly interface possible, in which you need an eagle's eyesight and a master's degree in deciphering double talk to do the various things you have to do with it. It is, and will remain, a mystery to me in many ways, and I reserve my "tweaking" and other things to the other keyboards in my rig which are all way more intuitive than the Kronos. Too many pages and cluttered screens and Rube Goldberg style pathways to getting things accomplished. Best is when you simply PLAY it, as this poster does.
too be honest if you play a 500 dollar keyboard and 3000 dollar I would be surprised most people cannot distinguish which one is the high end end the lower end.
I have looked many clips and came te the conclusion that the higher end is not that miracle sounding and the lower end is not that bad sounding after all relatively compared to each other
If you buy a Kronos, you're not just paying for the sound, you're also paying for the ridiculous number of features it has, like VST capability and an 16 track sequencer. Look up KARMA for the Kronos (Not the synthesizer), and tell me you'll find anything like that in a $500 keyboard.
Geusteer I agree on that but tell me how many players buys a high end keyboard and still performance to sounds like an amature. I am totally not impressed by his playing.
confidential303 Oh, when you said "if you play" did you mean this guy in particular? Because in that case I definitely agree with you, I don't know why this guy would need that keyboard for what he's using it for. I thought you were saying no one can make use of a higher end keyboard rather than a $500 one.
I was referering players like him playing high-end keyboards which makes it sound like a 500 dollar keyboard. Of course, that is no brainer the higher end can and should be able to sound more destinguisable, great example is the guitar sounds especially the Tyros 5 is mind blowing..but that is just way above my budget. So what actually I am searching is the true realism of a sound, so that it isn;t noticable if it comes from a keyboard or from a real instrument. I am searching for that keyboard/synth. Macro Parisi has also a demo of the Kronos it was mind blowing!
I disagree, you get what you pay for
I returned my Montage and kept the Kronos 2. Bought a Roland Integra 7. What rubbish samples. Should have kept the Montage and Kronos.
basspig really? You thought the integra7 sample were rubbish? Why do they get such raving reviews? I’ve been contemplating a purchase but I don’t want to waste that kind of money by being disappointed with the product.
@@truthmanifestingtruth Many of the samples, especially pianos and guitars, sound like sample stretching is going on--they sampled a couple of keys per octave. You can hear the mechanical noise pitch changing with key. Other samples like saxophones in the SN expansion libraries are quite good though.
"Be a Pro"?...there is nothing less professional-sounding than workstation presets.
Ryan Dunlap That's why they have tools available to modulate their presets. You can create whatever you want with these things. Except good guitar sound - but I heard some guys do that pretty successfully, too. Plus, additional gear is a must. You tube will never give you a full picture of what these things can do sound wise.
micanut48
brass is such ugly
alot of kronos users now selling their kronos. LOL. not worth the price. and not impressive
+Jade Pascual
What do you recommend.
+Celtic Progeny what is your purpose? gig or studio? or both?
Warning, Casio shill.
+Jade Pascual Yes, Many are upgrading to the Kronos 2. Korg can hardly keep up with the demand.
Jade Pascual I had a friend who had Kronos X but sold it and got the Kurzweil PC3K7.
