She officially debuted in 2012 with 1234, when she was 16. She's same age as me. I love her since then
Thank you for reacting to Lee Hi. She has one of the best discographies out there, she does not have single bad song. She's amazingly talented, she has very soulful and unique vocals, has the charisma and sassiness, and she's beautiful, a complete package. You should check out more from her.

Lee Hi's must watch videos and most popular songs are as follows:
"Breathe" - this was her most popular in Korea and is especially meaningful as it was written by SHINee's Jonghyun and given to her when he heard she was struggling with anxiety before performing. The lyrics are amazing. Sadly, Jonghyun committed suicide (you may recall from IU's 'eight' video where he was referenced as the dragon). Lee Hi did a heartbreaking performance of this song in the aftermath/tribute at the MMAs which is also worth viewing
"Holo" - is her second most popular song and released in 2020 shortly after she moved record labels to AOMG, where she's been granted so much more freedom to perform. The video is amazing, but there's also many live performances on RUclips - my special recommendations being the ODG interview (~10 mins) or the performance with Yiruma after you watch the video.
"Only" comes from the 2021 album 4Only and has another amazing music video. This song was less popular in Korea for some reason but hugely more popular with western audiences.

Lee Hi has come a long way... To a shy and expressionless 15 years old girl (as people describe her on her old MVs) to a confident lady.
She was a runner-up in Kpopstar season 1 and then after the competition YG entertainment immediately released her as a solo artist which may have put a pressure on her since she didn't train like other (Kpop idols/artists did)
She grew as an artist by experience. Gained the confidence she has now 🤧
I love everything by her so far, we just watched another video by her (also amazing) called I'm Different... It should be up within a few days!
I'll have to check out that show, so many ppl I know now had a start there
Lee Hi has one awesome voice.. when she first appeared as a 15 year old she blew Korea apart.. over the years she has added that crazy vibrato into her voice. Crazy cute right from the beginning cute awkward ! have been a fan from her first awkward audition !!

It is Killing Voice for singers, and Killing Verse for rappers.
Lee Hi was the runner-up in the first season of K-Pop Star back in 2012 and joined YG. She is currently 25 and would have been 15 when she made her debut. That would be why she has songs with Bobby and B.I. She left YG a few years ago and is now under AOMG, which is primarily a label for Rappers. I know she recently did a feature on Epik High's Rich Kids Anthem (off their 10th Album Epik High Is Here), but have worked with them several times in the past since Epik High also used to be YG as well.
I wish I could remember one video that really shows off her attitude. When she appeared on Weekly Idol I think, years ago.
Automatic Remix had a bunch of artists. Like 20+ each doing their own verse and is 15 minutes long. The original Automatic featured Bibi along with several others. 1totheK did do a live performance featuring 5 of the 6 original artists (including Bibi). Speaking of Bibi, you also hear a bit of one of her bosses in this killing voice. Yoon Mi Rae did the rap on Red Lipstick. Mi Rae is an absolutely amazing singer and rapper. One of the OGs of the Korean rap scene. While she doesn't have a Killing Verse/Voice for some reason, last year she did an After Hours performance for Dingo which is more a concert feel with her company's band backing her up and performing several full songs (and some short ones like a Killing Voice performance).
The MV for Red Lipstick is pretty great and it was my favorite of the several MVs she put out for her album last year. I know for the live performances she did Yoon Mirae's part (except of course when Yoon Mirae could join her).
The Hyuna song you were probably thinking of is Red. If you look at the thumbnail for that song, you will probably see why you thought of it (the MV also features her carrying a giant thing of red lipstick).
i knew that killing voice was for singers and verse for rappers, i jsut didnt know if LeeHi was a rapper or singer before we started... I love the kpop competition shows and i know a lot of great artists were on kpop star, i need to watch that.. i jsut finished up Produce 48, and excited for Queendom season 2..
Ill have to check out the Automatic songs, i like when artists do the cypher type videos featuring a bunch of ppl. And i have been getting ito Epik High a lot recently too, so its awesome to hear that she worked with them too...
i was thinking of Red Lipstick by Bol4, but yeah i think Hyuna came to mind because of Red... I love these dingo performances for so many reasons, it not only shows us great artists and a great way to get a glimpse of their diversity... but also usually brings up some of their history and ppl they have worked with... a big part of the reason we started our channel was to be able to talk about the videos with fans in the comments, because learning this stuff from ppl like you is a lot easier/funner than trying to blindly research them
@@BestFriendsReact I didn't know if you guys were familiar with Epik High. I didn't want to recommend them when their new album came out because Gray So Gray, their title track for the album, is probably not the best song to start off with them (which is why I would normally recommend something like Rosario to start). Doesn't help that Gray So Gray is listed as a lyrics video too. It is an amazing song though. If you haven't watched it already, you should check out the MV for Lovedrunk. The cinematography is so amazing, and I think you might find a familiar face in MV.
Yeah, with comments you never know what you are going to learn about. I know I have learned plenty about artists I know from various comments to reactions videos.
Rosario was the first song/video I saw by them because of CL, I only know a few so far by them, mainly Rosario, Born Hater and Ignition.

Loved the reaction! You’re in for a treat, her voice is so unique, rich, and addictive. Her discography is gold, the songs she features for are always amazing too. Her latest album 4ONLY is definitely worth a listen, it’s a whole no-skip ride. She’s really popular (in Korea) for her slower songs (Breathe, HOLO, ONLY) but she kills all genres really. Just a few underrated suggestions: World Tour, Here Come the Regrets (with Epik High), X and XI (with Code Kunst),

Her genre is often referred to as 'K-R&B' but Lee hi has been the featured 'girl singer' on a number of top artists' hard rap song as well. She often appears on an immensely popular live concert TV program named 'Begin Again' and there's lots of posted videos of her from that show.
I don't think I have ever seen anything from that show, I'll have to check it out, thanks for the heads up

She is 26 btw!! Debuted in 2012 (she was 16 then), she placed 1st place in a very big audition program called Kpop star and one of the prizes for winning is getting signed to one of the big 3 labels in Korea (at the time she chose YG Entertainment which then was already home to Kpop big names: Big Bang & 2NE1, and now also BlackPink). She's left the company sometime in the past two years (not quite sure exactly when) and signed to another company AOMG who's known more for their hiphop artists
Every now and then that show keeps getting mentioned. At this rate I feel like I would know a lot of the contestants. Maybe sometime soon I can get a chance to check it out

@@BestFriendsReact Yes that's her! She won 2nd place in Kpop star (LeeHi won 1st) and Jamie signed to JYP (GOT7/TWICE's label) and debuted as a duo called 15& with another girl called Yerin Baek (you should ALSO check her out), though Jamie's already moved to a new label I believe.

We just recorded a reaction to the new Rad Museum song featuring Dean and LeeHi, it should be up within a few days! We watched the cl dingo performance already, it was one of the first ones we ever watched from dingo, that's why it isn't on the channel, she killed it... She is one of the reasons we started doing the dingo performances on the channel
