I had the same thing happen with some cheap water colours I have. Instead of using a fine tip marker to outline the fodder I used a black coloured pencil instead 😊It worked great in a pinch but I am looking around for some better watercolours now.
you know you are a true crafter when you get excited over cardboard in the garbage can. I love those Manilla file folders they are so useful for making tags,journaling cards, postcards and other assorted things you can not have too many file folders
@@kathyalderton905 NEVER have too many lol! Like I said I normally go to a thrift store for them cause I can fill a grocery bag for 5$ but I do appreciate the DT sized ones. I, too, get excited over trash haha! 😆

YA! The containers are sooooo perfect! And they’re not at all Dollar Trees. I have 3 DTs within 15 mins from me and only one of the three has them. So odd. Ya, I’ll definitely be painting on the folders! May try the crayons too! Ya, I love my wal mart watercolors! 🫶

I luv using the white to do plain squiggles or lettering or shapes then watercolour with vibrant colours over the top n where the crayons is it'll resist soaking up the colour looks fab...

Cool stuff. I bet those neon crayons would look great on black paper. The technique you mentioned was like Batik. Where you put wax on fabric and then paint or dye over it. I bet the same could be done on paper. The design would then be revealed from the wax. Funny i took a fiber arts class in college and that's one of the things we made. Binge watching what i missed. I have been wanting to do the same and i found some cute laser wood cuts at dollar tree (birds, crosses, leaves, etc- in a 3 pack). I found they make great stamps and the jenga blocks from DT can be hot glued on the back as a handle. That was a fun project. I found some foam in clearance at hobby lobby, but im not sure how to turn it into a stamp and im not sure what shapes to do... A conundrum for sure. Lol. 🤪 Anyhoo, i hope you are well. I doodled along with you in your black and white fodder video today. That was fun. I have 4 pages. Lol. 😊❤️

I haven't tried it yet but someone scraped Chalfont on top of water then laid paper stock on top then pulled it up made great papers. You said crayons but thought I would share this idea
Awesome! Did you get the bags of buttons and the mega pack of paper at DT too? I seen a few things in there i'll have to look for at my DT's! I also love using up file folders! I got a big box of them I've had for years and i've finally used most of them up with journals and ephemera!! LOL
@@growfortoday7862 I’ve never seen buttons at the DT-even if they did sell them prolly in grand scheme wouldn’t be worth it. I LOVE FILE FOLDERS. I’ll do a video eventually on ways to upcycle them.

DT by my house do sell small jars of buttons, one is all dark colors like browns and blacks and the other has colorful ones, a little plain on most of them but they're good in a pinch I guess! Lol
@@growfortoday7862 Oh I haven’t noticed buttons at my DT! And I think that’s a brilliant idea to make your own fish tank background! I used to have a 300 gal tank with black diamond stingrays. They were amazing fish; I rehomed them to Ohio fish rescue so they could be in large large tanks to grow out and enjoy their lives ❤️

Not a fan of the DT watercolors in the pallet; they flake off when I try to doodle on dried paintings. 👎

How do you keep the oil pastels from smudging?
