I understand what you mean canberrauser but sydney nye celebrations are known the world over and widely considered(not just by sydneysiders)to be the best nye fireworks in the world! The atmosphere which is made incredible by the amount of people counting down and cheering is undiscribable.I agree that the crowds are hard to deal with but its one night a year and if you party hard enough you'll either be on your way home so happy that you wont notice the time or party until the crowds die down
This was uploaded in 4:3 squished!! Not uploaded in HD either, otherwise you'd see a bigger window when you click "View in HD". Ten didn't broadcast this in native HD anyway, just upconverted.
Saying Sydney's fireworks is "easily the best the world has to offer" is like saying the sun is better here than some place you've never been. You can't really tell what fireworks are "good" and what fireworks are "better". It's a very subjective thing to say.
I dunno if any of u know but apparently APPARENTLY!!! this is a world record most amount of people at a fireworks display and it looked much better live on TV... im just sayin and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
The solar system, the milky way, the universe??? No, Canberra had the best fireworks, not Sydney. I was actually there and I didn't even have to sit in traffic or stand in a queue or camp out to get there!!!
What? Why are they so boring??? Is that because there were not enough crowds? Too many vantage points? Lack of toilet queues? Being able to get home in 15 minutes instead of 15 hours? Oh gee, that really is BORING!!!!!
Yeah but what about the crowds ay? Ay? And what about the traffic???? SYDNEY IS HIDEOUSLY OVERCROWDED, WHO'D WANT TO BE STUCK IN SYDNEY'S CROWDS WHERE IT TAKES 6 HOURS TO GET THERE AND 6 HOURS TO GET HOME??? And the toilet queues that go for hundreds of metres, yeah you "gotta love Sydney" ay??? Also, why the fuck camp out for more than 24 hours before the fireworks even begin???? Is that crazy, hideous, or what????
we can afford it from all the christmas stuff bought that's i dunno $10+ mil in our economy not to mention all the booze bought that's like $3+ mil added on the old amount in the economy we have like $55+ mil so we could afford it
So Mrs XOX 08, Sydney is all about an accepted culture of wasting hours of your life stuck in hideously long queues or hideously long traffic jams. Is that your idea of party, being stuck in horrendous queues and sardined in mega crowds? I'm not saying this to be insulting, but your comments condoning the hellhole conditions sound really are crazy..... How the hell can you relax when you're stuck in a queue all night ay? Ay? I'd call that a big MINUS for tourism!!!!
The best fireworks.. absolutely star-gazing!!

There are limits, and what goes on in Sydney goes wayy beyond that.
