People are saying they can’t believe the writers killed Ridley off, but Shondra Rhimes doesn’t know how to write a sexy stable long-lasting relationship. She would have permanently have broken up Olivia and Fitz in Scandal and moved Olivia on to someone else, but the fans loved them so she practically ruined the relationship. In the finale of Scandal she throws a bone to Olitz fans and has that unsatisfactory scene which hints that they end up together but not quite. I stopped watching Station 19 when they killed off Ripley, and don’t watch Shondraland series because she puts couples together who have tons of chemistry, but doesn’t seem to know how to develop a sexy stable relationship. She did the same thing in HTGAWM and is doing the same formula in Bridgerton. I don’t watch her shows anymore. It doesn’t make sense to get attached to any of her couples especially interracial ones because Shondra will throw a plot grenade at them and break them up.
Shonda kills everyone in her shows even in Grey’s the one I was hooked on the most. I got so tired of mourning characters and love stories every season I decided to stop watching many of her shows especially after this guy died.

I’m not sure what the writers were thinking- The only logical explanation I can come up with is they needed them together for the crossover events and we’re experimenting to see if a crossover couple would work but why did it have to be them? I’d much rather seen Vic really morn Ripley’s death then just jump into a relationship almost immediately afterward. Her Fiancé just died for crying out loud. That doesn’t seem realistic and it was a bad call on the writers!
Wheel Warrior I recently started watching Station 19 and was so sad to see them kill off Ripley. And yes, that relationship with Jackson happened too quickly. I did not see them in the crossover because I do not watch Grey's Anatomy, but I figured something happened because all of a sudden, they're a couple.
