Honestly an amazing match, I think Cannone was a bit disrespectful at the end, like bruh ur oponent fell flat on his face, but maybe he didn't see it. Also think the ref was overreacting, I think he definitely should've let the other guy check on his point, he does have a right. Ref was like "You were on the floor for a minute!" bruh so what the guy just lost and he's in pain, so what? Correct me if I'm wrong... This dodge by Cannone @ 0:33 thooo oof
Yea they are both lightning fast fencers I'm confident Cannone didnt see the fall as he pressed the final touch, and yea I agree definitely has the right to test his weapon. Very entertaining bout all around!
Really the ref is right, you can't ask for a weapon test if the ref lost the view of it for a moment or if you touch your material between the end of the action and the test... But some bad luck about this fall and the reglementation i guess
I dunno, I thought one had to present the weapon for testing immediately. Not wait till the ref has called the bout. Who’s to say he didn’t break it on the ground while rolling around. I realise he may have been injured so that’s not his fault, but I still think he lost his opportunity by not seizing the moment immediately and requesting a test.
An important note is that VERWIJLEN hits the floor at 3:57 which loses him the right to test

Paghiev was wrong here. He lost control of the strip and the bout at the end.
I checked on slow-mo and I don't think he hit, however even if he did it would've been double so no big difference in the result anyway
