Just got a Sitka LT and love it, after paddling an Equinox for years. The skeg is a wonderful thing, though it does impact storage quite a bit. The Equinox overall has more usable storage for multi-day trips. The thigh ‘wings’ in the Equinox make it almost painful to carry over your shoulder, as the sharp edge is right where your hand is. The heavier Sitka, with its wide rolled cockpit edge, is much easier to carry. That was surprising.
On the water the Sitka, with skeg up, is a joy, very playful and responsive. With skeg down it locks in and tracks beautifully. Nice to have both options. The Equinox tracks great, but lacks the playfulness ability.
Both are rock solid stable, even though the Sitka is narrower. And the Sitka is a bit faster.
As the video says, both are great boats. I’m happy I changed to the Sitka and, after modifying my kayak camping gear to fit the reduced capacity, look forward to many fun days on the water.

This was very helpful. I’m taking lessons right now and saving up for my first kayak. I will definitely make a final decision based on fit.

Literally just comparing these two Eddylines on my own and having a heck of a time deciding. Your video was extremely helpful. Thank you!

Great video, I've often wondered how my Equinox compared to the Sitka LT and this video really helped be understand the differences. My wife and I are still loving our Equinox & Skylark pair - going strong for 2 1/2 years now...

Very well done video, you definitely nailed the comparison. My last kayak was the Kestrel by Current designs similar to the equinox in cockpit suze/shape. My Sitka is a snug fit and much improved performance and capacity over the 14' kestrel. Keep doing these awesome and informative videos 👍👍

Great review! While I was down in FL visiting family, I found a retailer and sat in both. At 5' 11" and 205lbs, they fit well. The Sitka LT is pretty snug in hip area, while the Equinox has a little bit more room. Will try them out on the water when I get back down to FL before making a final decision. Love the More Paddlin, Less BS sticker also :)! Do you have those on your website for purchase?

Meant to say dealer, not retailer
