    Gratz on the Win. Love seeing these detailed techs. I've also been very impressed by Ward. Maybe people aren't used to it yet, but people are constantly punting spells and abilities into my ward creatures.
    A few questions:
    - What are you thinking of adding instead of Top? Linvala? or your own Dress Down?
    - What about Meme Betrayal?
    - Can't grinding station go nuts with 5 artifact ETBs?
    - Why not Tezzeret the Seeker? Sometimes it just wins with sieve. Back-up plan: make 35 power of attackers.

I’m running all the 1 mana blink spells because they are kinda mini rituals+help protect Tivit and it works for me. Excited to watch this.
    Why not academy Manufactor? I swear this card is winning me games. The value you get with Displacer Kitten and Manufactor is game ending, I will literally just storm through my entire deck generating treasures and clues. I’d be hard pressed to consider taking it out at this point, try it if you haven’t.

    Man, when Tivit was spoiled I was so ready to build a casual voting tribal deck but he is just so efficient that I knew there'd be a cEDH build with him. I wanted to play him at high power but not cEDH tables, and didn't want to go fininite with him so kept Time Sieve out of there but been winning a lot by tutoring game enders like Cyberdrive Awakener/Tezerret Master of Bridge with Tamiyo's Journal, which gets flickered thanks to the kitten. It is a high power deck and I really enjoy playing so I hope your tournament win doesn't bring a lot of notoriety on the SphinxCat. Regardless, massive congratulations!
    Would you consider either Ephemerate or Essence Flux for replacement options for the cards you were talking about cutting. 1 mana, blink tivit, net more artifacts. Kitten also blinks something on cast. Or Blind Obedience?

    Rograhk and thrasios still being slept on. A majority of rograhk and thrasios decks are improperly built. Rograhk and thrasios is suppose to be a mid range control stax deck that takes advantage of rograhk primarily by turning it into a mana source. I’d say the key rograhk thrasios combos are Twinflame + dualcaster, defiler of dreams + shrieking drake (this is like a mono blue ad Naus) and fury storm + gale’s redirection. The best synergies for rograhk and thrasios is to turbo out winter or static orb, rograhk thrasios has the most ways to abuse the orbs. Galazeth prismari, urza, meria, goblin welder, goblin engineer, grinding station, hullbreaker horror. I think that’s the full list of things I have the react with my orbs at instant speed. Meria, hullbreaker, and galazeth are all very powerful for being able to make the winter and static orbs into god cards. Also getting out from under orbs is easiest when you are built to turn rograhk into a mana source. Rograhk becoming a mana rock each turn is very very under rated utilization.

    You could play Lurrus in the 99…with displaced kitten out and a lotus petal, if I’m not mistaken, that’s infinite mana right? But Lurrus also gets a lot of your value pieces back…I could be wrong but if you’re making some cuts, have you considered Lurrus?

      Also, with Tivit, Displacer Kitten, and any non creature, doesn’t that make enough artifacts for timesieve regardless of number of opponents, ex would be that Sensei’s top?
      Attack with Tivit, get the value, cast Top, blink Tivit, get the value, activate time sieve, tap top to draw and even with 1 opponent, you will always end up with 5 artifacts to sac with this loop

    40:00 I've noticed that my ad nauseam would be more reactive than proactive when playing tivit as in digging for counters to stop by opponents and setting up for a win once it gets back to my turn, but would you consider it crazy with the amount of mana your generating to play expropriate instead; considering you can vote for time twice with tivit? I know nine mana is a lot, but when you're in some of these late game scenarios unable to break parity, I think that it is as game ending in casual as it would be in competitive at least for Tivit. I just feel like two turns in addition to stealing hay pieces, especially asymmetrical ones is like a sure victory.

    One of the best artifacts not seeing cedh play rn that should is Transmogrifying wand. At worst 3 removal spells on 1 card. All colorless mana. Gets around color protection. Low investment cost for overall utility. First turn you use it is large investment. second and third time are very little investment. It’s a good card to use with goblin welder and engineer. Put counters on it after it’s down, get around removal spells targeted at it. In rograhk thrasios I’ve had games where I could have tutored for dockside but tutored for goblin engineer and won because engineer is somewhat just as filthy as dockside.

  • @mightyone3737

    I think I'd rather stick with Old Zur atm, he can get bigger than 6/6 very easily, he can remove anything that's walling him, he can find combo pieces for you and he can generate way more cards via Necropotence or Black Market Connections, Connections can also generate bodies and also works well with Stasis (better since Zur can just find Brave the Sands or Reconnaissance or whatever). I think if you're interested in mid-range/stax, Zur is more what you're looking for, but if you're happy with Tivit and a bunch of hatebears, that'll probably win games very consistently, and can be designed to be less sucky-without-the-Commander, in contrast with Toolbox Zur, that is always a struggle . I will say, hearing about how you more serious players deal with issues with your own decks gives me ideas for mine, I think it helps that Zur can kinda do whatever you build him to, but it feels like Zur is a lot harder than I thought (as far as not punting every other game you could have won), so maybe I should have started with something less skill-intensive, the cost of a Commander that can do almost anything in the right deck is that you have to choose well enough or you just lose, it's super-easy to fetch out the wrong card, it took me awhile to realize you can just get Rule first and you will rarely be frustrated if it resolves, it's almost nightmarish to resolve a most combos with that out (and Zur able to snipe anything).
    Any reason you don't bother with Wandering Archaic? it seems like a huge amount of value if you ever resolve it, and your Commander is a 6 mana chonk, surely you can swing 5 mana to double up all the counters that opponent's play? Obviously anyone trying to stop an opponent from doing stuff won't pay extra because you'll just double up the counter, if the opponent tries to protect his combo, he's taxed 2 mana or his counter will be countered as well. It just seems nasty is all, and I feel like most opponent's you'd play vs would have that all figured out already? I guess not everyone runs spells, but most cEDH decks run more spells than creatures in my experience (there is Winota and the like), even if your opponents aren't in Blue there are usually some juicy spells to tax or copy, both effects are very significant (if Trinisphere gets you going, how about a 5 mana Anguished Unmaking for your opponent? or 7 mana Ad Naus, because they probably don't want to give you an Ad Naus to dig for a free counter! Just looked it up on Gatherer, apparently the copy will resolve before the actual spell, very cool, but less cool apparently people have actually played Explore the Vastlands? Yikes.

    Hats off to Gustov for going through with the deal, but ultimately keeping your word even in the finals is extremely important. Especially if you’re a prominent player. As soon as you start breaking deals, they’ll stop being offered to you, and politics is a huge part of any commander game, especially Cedh. He breaks that deal and it would really come back to hurt his reputation.

    • @nealtyson6377
      @nealtyson6377 Год назад

      IMO politics in cEDH is collusion...win or don't. Making deals to not let another player win is dirty. It's infinitely more difficult to win cEDH when two people are friends and just agree on who wins and who doesn't.

    • @jorjor500
      @jorjor500 Год назад

      @@nealtyson6377 That’s not dirty play…that’s playing to win. When someone is trying to present a win it’s in the best interest of the other 3 players to discuss the best way to deal with it, and how much info they’re willing to give up, ergo politics. If you’re not willing to do that, you better be willing to lose more games than you would have.
      Talking with the other players is important, and it brings a uniqueness to commander in general that doesn’t exist in 1V1 formats.

    • @nealtyson6377
      @nealtyson6377 Год назад

      @OopsYourself you can explain it any way you'd like but more than one player actively working together to stop another player from winning while agreeing to not win themselves is collusion. Playing EDH? Who cares...politics is the name of the game. I feel like cEDH should not be so lax toward this behavior. I know if EDH those "Oops I forgot that was on the battlefield, can I take that back?" Happens and is fine but once you are in a competitive format...NOPE! Should have payed attention to the board state.

    • @ComedIanMTG

      Notion thief has a number of upsides over narset including the fact that you acquire the cards your opponents don't draw. Instead of just stopping them you are putting yourself ahead. It also can't be attacked in combat

      @@ComedIanMTG yea, but narset draws you cards so you don't have to keep mana up to catch someone to draw cards.

      @@arturstasienko2234 notion thief works better in this deck since you want to keep mana up for interaction anyway and wheel + notion thief is basically a win condition in and of itself. Narset will maybe stick around for 1-2 turns before it’s hated off the board.

      @bend5963 Год назад

      @@arturstasienko2234 its not really the same deal since, like Ian said, you’re only putting your opponents behind instead of furthering your own game plan. Narset is a good card for sure. We just don’t have enough creatures to protect her for long enough to get the maximum value out of her. Since we’re in black and looking to make plays at instant speed, Notion thief is the superior option.

I needed the Drannith gone bad, and instead of just swinging all out (I had lethal, but failed to process why this might be relevant) I made a deal. It was however very late (6 am) and I my brain failed to come up with these alternate lines before I had a nap.
