That minecraft one was absolutely beautiful, I really enjoyed it. I have a version of the kalimba that was made from a coconut (it was a souvenir from Hawaii) and I remember I used to play some of the Minecraft music on it. Maybe I'll give it another go.

One of my favorite things is listening to all of the nostalgic music you play from games such as Minecraft, Undertale, Animal Crossing, etc. Everytime I listen to it I'm like "I know that song!" And it's amazing
God I love these, and as a fellow percussionist I must say I am thoroughly impressed with how well you play everything. One tip I learned with the chimes is to do an upstroke to really draw out the sound instead of just kind of smacking the tops. I really don't mean that in any sort of way but I know it helped me early on, so it can't hurt to try right?
Howdy! I’m currently a percussionist at a big10 university (not trying to sound pretentious or anything, just don’t want to say which one for privacy), and I’d wager that the whole upstroke thing is sort of an old wive’s tale, told by band directors who learned it from their band directors who learned it from their band directors. In all honesty, hitting “up” is more of a mental thing than it is based in your tone quality. What’s more important is the weight and fluidity behind your stroke-this applies to virtually every other percussion instrument. If the Intent is to have a sound with lots of attack, I like to use fast wrist motions. If the intent is to have a full, toned sound, I’ll do a relaxed stroke with the arm being my primary muscle.

About a week ago I thought of the songs and started practicing this about 5-6 days ago. The Kalimba took the most time as it’s a new instrument and the layout I was not used to.
I don’t know why but the Minecraft one brought me back to the free version of Minecraft my family had on our Xbox 360, playing that in the summer felt weirdly mystical… Now I’m just sad I can’t figure out how to fix my pc version missing .dll files is all I know
