A completely unworkable disaster for all developers following extension of 10% BNG on 2nd April 2024 to most small plot developments. Private back and front gardens do not qualify for any on site BNG metric scoring, so this will lead to very expensive off site purchase of either units or Statutory credits. This leaves no profit for most developers and those new houses delivered with BNG will be sold at a higher sale price. Disaster.
