Richie Hawtin -- " This week we will do our first public test of an idea that we’ve been developing for the past year, an interactive music gaming experience built in Unreal Engine. Unlike other music gaming events which are heavily pre-determined with little-to-no interactivity, our system uses real-time information from a live DJ performance to change and manipulate the gaming environment. This is an experiment in creating a playable online adventure, bringing together music lovers in a fun way which presents a new unique way of experiencing a live event and not just another ‘live-stream’ camera broadcast.
For our first experiments we will be inviting a small number of users to play and test the game. During the test we will stream one player's view on Twitch. In our game the players do not appear in one unified multiplayer environment. Each player navigates their own version of the game, playing against other players in a competition for points.
As a reminder, this is our first public test and we will unveil more about the game and its mechanics as we move along our development path. If you would like to participate or learn more please join our From Our Minds Discord group and participate in our Sync City channels.
