    I tell people it doesn't work well for acute pain like a broken bone or toothache. BUT and this is a BIG HONKIN' BUT, it works miracles for chronic pain like my decades old back pain. Or nerve damage pain like after my husband's kidney surgery. The body gets used to hard core pain killers and can actually make you hurt to get it. When my hubby was declared 'fully healed' and cut off cold turkey from his oxycodone, he was in absolute misery. Wild lettuce flipped that pain switch off. The pain did return and was eased every time. The periods between needing it gradually became longer and longer and he doesn't need it anymore. My older back injury acts up once in awhile and it works every time. No high. No addictive qualities. Our miracle.

      How do you prepare yours? My husband has chronic pain that flares and I have a ton of this growing in my yard.

    I used the Seek app on some wild lettuce by my gate, and the neighbor dissed me, saying "it's a weed, what more do you need to know?" LOL. I do love the Seek app even though it once identified some tire tracks as a turtle. Thanks for this video.

    When you made your tincture did you use the whole plant, dry it and prepare or milk the sap? I can not find clear instructions on preparation. Also best time to harvest?

      Hi, not sure if you found your answer but I’ll put it here for future reference. You want fresh plant before it blooms, cut up small (stem and leaves) placed loosely in a mason jar to the top do not have it packed tight. Pour over 100 proof vodka to the top put a lid on it. Store in cool dark place For at least 6 weeks. Strain out. Ingest in dropper when pain is intense or sleeping is difficult. Not recommended to take daily.

    Can tinctures be used topically for knee, shoulder and such pain?

    • @mountainroseherbs
      @mountainroseherbs  Год назад

      Hi there! Tinctures can be used topically but you may want to try something more like an herbal liniment. We have a few good blogs to check out: blog.mountainroseherbs.com/making-herbal-liniments and blog.mountainroseherbs.com/east-asian-medicine-herbal-liniment-poultice-recipe. I hope that helps!

      @@mountainroseherbs Thank you for your guidance. MRH is and has been out of the arnica flowers. I am on their list to notify me when it comes in. Any suggestions on where to get seed? I am in zone 5 Wisconsin. Your thoughts please.

    • @mountainroseherbs
      @mountainroseherbs  Год назад

      It looks like the arnica seeds are in stock on Strictly Medicinal Seeds website :) You can search for them here: strictlymedicinalseeds.com. There are a few varieties of arnica that they sell and I think most would be suitable for zone 5! - Gracie
