That shot when the station is going into the ring in the background and she is hanging from the ship while the cargo pod dropped was fucking incredible
one of my favorite scenes was towards the beginning when they were floating around in zero-gravity, and the cameras were rotating and seemingly floating just like the objects and characters in the room
Pulling off making an “Alien” movie with an atmosphere that feels right in line with the original trilogy is quite a feat. It’s beautifully shot and while $80 million is hardly an “indie” budget, “Romulus” looks like it cost twice as much. Bravo 👏👏👏
That sequence where their transport ship is crashing into the space station and we get that interior shot of the space station’s hall way as the lights flood into each window was so beautiful and cool. This film was a masterclass in visuals and atmosphere. Thank you for making it what it is
YES!!!!!!! Thats the scene that stood out so much to me and dare I say it might be my favorite one. I don't know what it is about it but I just love it so much. 10/10
Love the scene when Kay falls down out of her ship and she crawls under the walkway and the alien jumps down right on top of her the sound in that scene was very good. And then seeing the alien drag the bodies into the vent.
I loved the chest bursting scene. It felt much more realistic than the other movies, as the alien struggled to get out, and her chest split to the side rather than down the middle.
My exact thoughts when I saw that scene!! It felt more realistic watching her chest crack open like a hard shell egg and the chestburster struggling to squirm out. Great scene
Cinematography is really beautiful , can’t wait to watch it again in IMAX and get it on 4K. It really captured the ambience of the Renaissance space station, something the franchise hasn’t been able to do since Alien.
Romulus wasn’t what I was expecting. But then I realized that these kind of movies aren’t always going for the ‘cool factor’. HOWEVER, just about every major moment in the movie made my skin crawl and cause me to squirm in my seat. Not many movies have done that to me. 9/10
Was lucky enough to see this in IMAX twice. Absolutely stunning and captivating shots from beginning to end. Fantastic work. I did catch the Alien: Isolation phone when they're in the lab, that was a nice Easter egg.
I like that he took inspiration and likes the video game alien isolation. That game really stands on its own 2 feet and has stood the test of time. The game is almost 10 years old, which is crazy but it's nice that it has an influence on the franchise.
I’m so happy for him he was totally robbed of his co photogrgaphy in Roma, he should win an Oscar along side Alfonso, but now he’s back with total credits!!!
@@chiefyt9250 It has its flaws but you're delusional if you think this is AvP level of trash. This was a good movie, the best one since Aliens for sure.
Amazing BTS coverage with the film still in theaters. This is how it's done, folks. It's like the second wave of the marketing, where the trailers are the first wave to get you there - this gets you right back for that second and fourth viewing.
the chestburster scene i felt is honestly almost on par with the '79 chestburster scene, i knew it was coming in the movie from the trailers for Romulus, but seeing it build up and playout in the movie, i won't lie, my heart was going 😳
Alien Romulus was absolutely fantastic, captured the vibe of the first movie perfectly, the cinematography, music, action everything was top notch. Fede Álvarez and the cast and crew did a phenomenal job, really enjoyed the movie. 👏👏👏👏👏
The chest burster scene was a mix of emotions for me. Felt sad for Navarro dying, horrified by what sounded like an egg shell breaking x10, amazed by what was done differently for this take on probably what is the most iconic sequence in Alien. I think this movie stands out from some other sequels of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), would recommend it.
The movie took me back to the 80's The analog style computer and blurry cctv is just absolutely amazing! A cinematic masterpiece they really did justice to the Alien franchise!
You guys did a fantastic job. Took me back to when I first started watching Alien in the eighties level it. It's would be great if they make a movie on what happened in romulus.
this man was uncredited as a co cinematographer for Alfonso Cuaron’s Roma, he should have taken that oscar back in 2019, shame on Cuaron. So happy to see him as a DoP on this one. Amazing eye he has.
Muchas felicidades Galo. Ya estás en las grandes . Puro talento Uruapense. Le conté a mi mamá Alma y le dio mucho gusto. Ayer fui a cine a ver la movie y esta muy buena. Saludos
I might be wrong, but the one thing that confused me, was the really quick gestation time of the alien - in the first movie it took hours, and about the same time in Aliens.
It took a minute for that thing to grow better yet it took 5 seconds for the facehugger to implant its host so i really dont get and the thing is in alien it took 16 hours to fully implant it so pretty disappointing in my opinion.
This scene was what I was the most excited for from this movie. I love Fede Alvarez's uncanny ability to make the audience feel viscerally disgusted and uncomfortable, and his team didn't disappoint. For the first time since my initial viewing of Alien as a child, a chestbursting scene genuinely made me recoil in my seat.
This chestburster actually felt refreshing, it was on point, it sets up in the torax region to have protection, it struggles to come out, it comes out scuffed, sound was very realistic. Man I am so happy how this movie came out, very nice ambient and it just had the jumpscares at the right points.
I could care less about an ALIEN movie. I'm old school, and 1986 was the last time I cared, but holy sh*t this one was excellent! Fede makes the most watchable films! I saw it 3 times in the theatre, and really admired the cinematography. Beautiful work all around!
"I came from another world" damn my guy's an alien himself 💀 kidding aside they created a stellar job on building the atmosphere and the look of the film
Loved the new movie and this was one of my favourite of the Alien franchise. It looked and felt like Alien, and still managed to feel new and refreshing. A terrifying and incredible cinema experience. The lenses are a brilliant detail. And that chestburster scene, goddamn that looked good.
Went and saw it and pretty much I was holding onto my boyfriend's hand during all the intense scenes. You could tell we the audience were enthralled by it all, loved how there were call backs and quotes to the other films / game. Like the moment they reach the station and they gotta hand crack the vent open, I instantly got transported back to Alien : Isolation. Can't wait to own it when it comes out.
G R E A T movie, it's been a minute since something in a horror movie has genuinely scared me, that creature at the end is nightmare fuel to me, I was covering my eyes, something I haven't done since I was a kid. Great movie.
That shot when the station is going into the ring in the background and she is hanging from the ship while the cargo pod dropped was fucking incredible
Yeah the VFX Guys did a Incredible jop with the space shots
This film has one of the most beautiful depictions of planetary rings. So unique.
I like that shot when Andy’s in the corridor and their ship flys around shinning the light into the corridor was really good.
when that ice mountain zips by as she's dangling 😨
Facts bro! 100
His work was a piece of art
What is your definition of art lol
@@whoeverthisguyis0826 What's yours?
Honestly such a piece of art!!!
Romulus was streaming trash put in theaters.
@@frankthecat1660 that's what I was thinking when I was watching it. It's such non-descript, pastiche content.
one of my favorite scenes was towards the beginning when they were floating around in zero-gravity, and the cameras were rotating and seemingly floating just like the objects and characters in the room
It’s crazy how much recognition the game gets even from film directors! and we still have yet to have another alien survival horror :(
yeah, all they did was copying one mechanism and fpp camera, rotfl. in a game which isnt focused on fpp shooting at all. yay.
@zbigniewiksinski It was more than that. Try to watch the movie.
There’s a vr game coming out on PlayStation that’s interesting.
@@zbigniewiksinski Nice rage bait buddy
maybe one gets financed after the movie. i bet there are enough ideas for a game like this
He should be incredibly proud of his work on Alien: Romulus. One of the best looking movies i’ve seen in the past couple of years!

The sound design played a huge role in that scene. The sound made me feel it.
Love the scene when Kay falls down out of her ship and she crawls under the walkway and the alien jumps down right on top of her the sound in that scene was very good. And then seeing the alien drag the bodies into the vent.
The thumping from inside her chest was intense and had me immersed af.
I loved the chest bursting scene. It felt much more realistic than the other movies, as the alien struggled to get out, and her chest split to the side rather than down the middle.
The sound design was just chef's kiss. The muffled banging and cracking made it hurt to watch, honestly.
The x-ray device was one of the coolest things I've seen in a movie these days. Super underrated VFX there!
My exact thoughts when I saw that scene!! It felt more realistic watching her chest crack open like a hard shell egg and the chestburster struggling to squirm out. Great scene
The chest burster was premature i believe since they pulled the facehugger off the girl before it was all "finished" with her.
Cinematography is really beautiful , can’t wait to watch it again in IMAX and get it on 4K. It really captured the ambience of the Renaissance space station, something the franchise hasn’t been able to do since Alien.
Since Romulus draw so much inspiration from Isolation, Alien Romulus is basically a movie adaptation of game adaptation of a movie franchise
Other than the original alien they took the best material they could.
yes but too bad it wasnt a direct adaptation. I wanted to see those Working Joes.
Facts! Loved the callbacks to the game, the movie had a similar vibe to it too! 💯
@@purefoldnz3070same!
50 50 i think they use Alien 2 also and Alien 1
Is a movie with even PROMETHEUS
The scream after it bursts out was the best ! Classic horror scream

Glad I saw this film on IMAX, so many incredible shots.
One of the best ALIEN movies yet. A true thrill ride throughout. Loved it. Rain and her "brother" Andy were awesome protagonists for this ALIEN story.
Agreed, very well acted and it shows in the immersion
You have no taste. This film was terrible. By far the worst in the franchise. At best on par with AvP: Requiem.
@@chiefyt9250 It has its flaws but you're delusional if you think this is AvP level of trash. This was a good movie, the best one since Aliens for sure.
