It was great when it first came out. The sense of novelty and power you got as you equiped what is essentially a pocket cannon was, for the lack of a better term, a true "Wow" moment (followed by a gleeful "hehe, big pistol"). Then the realization hit. You will *have* to use this weapon if you want to participate in activities that feature champions. There were other options at the time, but they were much harder to justify over just using your shiny new toy. In my humble opinion, Eriana's started a long line of soft powercreep, with Bungie giving us stronger and stronger weapons. All in all, a great weapon. Fun to use on hunter with lucky pants, great for speedrunning dungeons, best quick-swap weapon to annoy your friends in crucible. Would be cool if it had more ammo though.
Just wish it ignited on precision kill too, maybe no cooldown on the ignition on majors and champs or having it possible on every kill with a 10 second cooldown
The comparison to rocket sidarms is what speaks the loudest. It needs more ammo. Right now it competes with snipers, which outperform it in damage by double if not more. It's only slightly better than the Sunshot.
I think it goes under the radar because rocket sidearms deals splash damage against targets which is great for ad-clear, eriana's vow is almost completely a single target weapon, specfically barriers besides its ignition perk. Nowadays we don't think too much about barriers. Ways to buff this handcannon is to give it more reserves and something like if you proc first glance on an already scorched target, then that target will ignite.
If they made the ignition proc on every shield and not just solar and barrier shields, it’d be so much fun. Just spamming ignitions every where. An alternate solution I thought of was making it work like heavy throwing knife and make proc an ignition on scorched targets. Would be tough without an incandescent weapon but I think it’s a fair enough pay off Also, thumbnail goes hard
I think the reason why bungie didnt go this route is pvp not entirely sure how base guardian shield is coded but the solar supers tecnically have a solar shield
I think what would do nicely as a buff would be to play into its “shield break” play style. Keep its anti barrier but allow it to create an ignition on ALL shield breaks. I could see some issues with PvP but I don’t play that god forsaken gamemode.
Erian's vow is hand cannon. If I select the hand cannon in Hunter's Journal, it should stun the overload champions and barrier champions both. Interesting
Just allow it to also stun whatever the seasonal hand cannon anti champ mod is - ex. This season it eouldve been able to knockout overload and anti b. and that should increase its use without making the gun ridiculous
What's your opinion on Eriana's Vow?

They should make it deal with unstoppable and overload intrinsically as well.
I just got it today and it solved my problem with stasis hunter. Now I can keep running my exuvia instead of a scout.
Really nice thumbnail Toidi :)
It feel like it hits my face after every shot...
That must be warlock's T-Rex arms.

It's definitely not better than the sunspot unless you mean at far range? Which isn't where you'd use sunshot
It doesn't need more ammo. You get so much from pickups even without scavenger mods. It needs a damage bonus to yellow bars.

imagine that with helion

Thanks for the update
i didnt know the damage was bad because it pairs so well with lucky pants

those jump scares, brig will get you every time lol
Im just a sucker for big chunky revolvers with scopes so Im on board
Give it rays of precision and it’ll be fun enough for people to actually use it
Still baller AF!!!!
i want to like the gun. im loggin back in to try it again
*slides on my lucky pants* welp…let’s see what’s up

not how that works. if an exotic gun has an intrinsic perk on it that will override artifact mods. you can never do anything but anti-barrier with it.
Doesn't work like that you dope.
new toidi vid dropped 🔥🔥
Eriana’s vow gaming
Twice as much ammo would make this a fun weapon

Read your name backwords😂😂

It’s such an awful feeling weapon to use. Especially on controller.
