That was definitely a lot of fun, especially with things like Gary and Ash traveling together, and Misty becoming a professional trainer in her own right without Ash holding her back. On the topic of those two changes, your decision to replace Misty with a cut out of Gary in certain screenshots deserves extra praise. Hilarious!

Cue to Ash and Gary's Pokémon watching the fight with Poké-popcorn or whatever.
Gary being a companion for a bit of johto arc would've been HILARIOUS. I can only imagine him being like "damn bitch you live like this?" the whole time because of the amount of shit Ash gets into constantly. Gary gets through his journeys straightforward while Ash does every sidequest, even without Team Rocket he'd still continuously get sidetracked with terrible luck to boot. How would it be if Gary was dragged into all the messes Ash gets into? Now THAT would've made for some fun episodes, makes me wish it happened.
@M Johnson I disagree with you. There are many pokemon that refuse to evolve like bulbasaur and squirtle that does not mean they are worthless and weak, they are still very strong as shown in their battles. Pokemon battles in anime is not the same as pokemon battle in games pokemon that are not evolve are strong if they are train well. One example, ash bulbasaur can tie with a meganiun.

Glad to see the part two of this incredible what if. Hope to see part three sometime in the future and hope that all sagas will get covered eventually.
Maybe it’s just me cause I think the gym battles are the least interesting part of the anime but I kinda preferred how speculative the first video was about the social implications and this one feels much more just focused on the small nuances of the battles with a slightly different team instead of how one choice cascades into everything that happens. The Pryce part was cool though.
Kind of as expected, seeing as the only real impact to be had was different starter. Team Rocket's non-existence was also important and was a crucial thing affected by the timeline
Well, I don't know about that, some changes were Misty becoming a better trainer and competing in the league's championship series twice, meaning she won 8 badges in her own right. Ash's lessons were different and his team did improve differently. I feel like there were some solid changes, especially how Gary became a close friend and travel companion for a few months during these events.
I also wanted to add the entire Orange league was passed on, No Lapras, No Dragonite fight, no big win for Ash. I think he skipped a lot of good battles that probably would have helped Ash in the Jhoto League.
To get some closure for Pryce, I say he leaves the gym for good shortly after battling Ash. Then he winds up going back to where he last saw Piloswine and ends up finding it. Then he comes back to gym with it to declare that he's not going to be retiring.
When u realise gary replacing misty makes so much sense They have similar hairstyle, similar personality, and both serve as the...love interest (Surprised pikachu face)
Okay so just finished it and it was a great series, I loved part one more, but this was a cool little review of the Jhoto region with some differences that I liked. Keep it going my man! You are doing great with these vids.
Take all the time you need for the gen 3 seasons! That's a full 4 including Battle Frontier, so I wouldn't blame you if it even took a full year to complete. Just remember that a lot of people are enjoying these ideas and are anxious to see what else could change for the better or worse. BTW, Stantler was a surprise to see and a somewhat bigger surprise to see it have such important moments with winning Ash the Drake badge and beating Gary's Venusaur.
Pikachu: Loses to a level 5 Pokémon that hits him with 2 moves. Idc that He was sick, Pikachu still hit Snivy with a full on quick attack, it should’ve been demolished. Anime logic is stupid, but it’s kinda funny.
This series is absolutely amazing because it feels like this is the way Pokemon should have been, awesome, strategic and with interesting character development.
I wish I could’ve watched this sooner but work doesn’t give me long breaks or free WiFi. That said, I’m over the moon to see this series continue. It was a really bittersweet take on Ash’s journey since we never get to see Snorlax, Lapras, Phanpy, or even Larvitar. And Tracy too, I guess... Not to mention Pryce still remains a bitter and lonely old man without Piloswine. Plus, Ash’s loss in the League was definitely worse than canon since Charizard was out of commission. On the other hand, the Ash vs. Gary match was probably better than the original. Same with Clair’s Gym Battles. I never thought a Stantler could be such an impressive Pokémon. And I never would have guessed Misty would enter the Johto League. That’s a big step up for her. I guess traveling by herself made Misty a stronger trainer. I’m eagerly awaiting the Hoenn section of this spectacular series. But if I could make a couple suggestions for later: 1. I’d like to see Ash give Blastoise a couple different moves that aren’t pure power attacks like Rain Dance or Rapid Spin. 2. When Ash reaches the Battle Frontier (at least I hope he makes it there), make sure Ash doesn’t release the Pokelantis king spirit. That was a moment of monumental stupidity on his part and I’d like to think Ash can be better than that (though that sets the bar very low). Once again, thank you so much for continuing this project. It’s a lot of fun to watch!
"When the Violet gym leader sends out his Hoothoot, Gary follows suit-suit." I'm not even five minutes into the video, and I'm already laughing my ass off at something that isn't even funny.
This was a great turn of events. Never thought ash would use a stantler. I hope you continue with this with hoenn I like to see if ash would catch different pokemon and see how he would do in the League
Well, the world would turn into literal ash, that is if Mewtwo doesnt destroy it first in the first movie. Now if Molly survived she would likely trigger a Unown Apocalypse in movie 3 leading to Arceus waking up and rebooting the universe. Best case scenario: Arceus gives the world a second chance by changing the event that caused everything to go downhill - Ash waking up in time. But more likely he wouldnt since he would still be very angry with humanity's betrayal and would simply create a world without humans. It would be worse if none of those scenarios took place tho. In movie 4 Iron Mask would successfully capture Celebi and overthrow Giovanni with him, enslaving the world with a dark pokemon army...then in the Jirachi movie the artificial Groudon would grow powerful enough to devour all life on the planet and keep every living being trapped in eternal torment as part of his biomass. And if we ignore the movies: -Team Magma and Aqua might destroy the world during Ash's adventure on Hoenn or Team Galactic would wipe out the entire universe with Dialga and Palkia. If none of that happened by the new Ash somehow still getting in the way of all those plans we could still say for sure that Ghetsis's plan of brainwashing Reshiram alongside all other pokemon would certainly have worked without Ash & Pikachu's bond, leading to a world enslaved by him.
Great video! However ... Theres a huge hole u didnt think of Since Ash never joined Orange League, he arrives in Johto much, much earlier. Therefore a whole lot of events didn't happen in time, changing almost all Ash journey
I mean overall I would say waking up early hasn't benefited ash at all. Sure he gets a blastoise instead of pikachu, but at what cost? he never gets his snorelax, he never gets his donphan, he never becomes close friends with misty, he doesn't meet like half of his friends. he never wins at the orange island. the only thing he gains from this adventure is a stantler. I'd say overall ash made the right decision to sleep in. Not saying this is bad video at all. it's honestly really well made and besides some small changes I pretty much agree with everything stated in the video. that being said ash is the perfect example of why it's a good thing to get some extra sleep sometimes
well he gets an obediant charizard keeps his primeape gets quilave way early then when it happens in sinnho and he never have to deal with team rocket like ever
@@darthvader406 ash got an obedient charizard faster in the classic anime than in this. He had to deal with just a charmeleon in this. Also quilava evolves early sure, but he would only use him in one battle before replacing him immediately in hoenn then never using him until sinnoh anyways. You are right though ash would get to keep primape which would be pretty cool. Also something I forgot about is ash would still have pidgeyotto which would also be pretty nice.
@@darthvader406considering he won't have to deal with Team Rocket, he loses out on Staraptor and Greninja, and considering May and Max aren't a thing, bye bye Swellow and Sceptile (Groyvle won't evolve), no contests means byebye Aipom. In Sinnoh, no Dawn means no Buizel and no Paul means no Infernape. Goomy won't evolve either, because no Team Rocket.
What I am getting from this is Ash waking up on time is the best thing to ever happen to Misty. Holy shit why couldn't we get this badass trainer Misty in the actual series?
Something bothers me about that "Ash focuses on one or two Pokemon" thing. He didn't. You had him switch his Pokemon out a lot and let them grow a bit more but they were stomped out by Harrison. In the original, Ash did MUCH better against him. Was that because he had too many Pokemon? If Ash got beat by Harrison despite having all these Pokemon to use, it seems weird to have him be stomped by him in this one.
His failure against Harrison is in large part due to his battle against Gary. The reason why Ash performed so much worse against Gary is because the power levels of his team just aren't as evenly distributed. Ash in the original had, as powerhouses, Charizard, Heracross, Snorlax and sorta Muk. Comparatively, he only could rely on Blastoise and Charizard, since Stanler was in all of *one* battle, and Primeape was about as effective as Tauros in the original. As well, Bayleaf and Noctowl were about as strong as their originals (which is pretty average). Unown is trying to say that because Ash didn't have as many powerhouses, this forced Ash into overreliance on Blastoise mainly, causing an eventual over-exhaustion. Due to the extra power original Ash had, Charizard was not as tired out, and Ash even still had Pikachu in reserve. Also as a side note, Gary in this is just, a stronger trainer in general, meaning he's also more difficult for Ash to overcome. As another note, Ash's Muk is about as strong as the original, it's just bad luck that it had to go against a steel type lol.
@@Genra I don't really understand the fact that Blastoise Charizard and Stanler being to tired to battle the Harrison because there was about a whole day of rest between the battles and un the original Snorlax fought against 3 Pokemon and same with Charizard and they both were in the battle against Harrison.
For the Johto League: -Ash makes it to the finals, loses to Harrison or Gary. -He additionally catchs Hoothoot (the one that was rude to him), Houndour (Hour Of The Houndour), Larvitar (he stays with Ash instead), Lapras, Celebi (GS Ball), Latias (Pokémon Heroes) and Snorlax as well. -Tracey (who catches the original Lapras) appear in the episode “Gotta Catch You Later”, as Ash’s new companion in the Hoenn region (along with Misty). They met as Professor Oak’s newest top student and assistant during Ash and Gary’s journey in Johto.
Oh man, I just found these today and throughly enjoyed it. I always did wonder what would happen if Ash woke up and had better common sense. Can't wait for hoen and sinoh region

I also wanted to add the entire Orange league was passed on, No Lapras, No Dragonite fight, no big win for Ash. I think he skipped a lot of good battles that probably would have helped Ash in the Jhoto League.
Pokemon's filler is the worst since it's made for kids. That's why most people enjoy more the battles
To get some closure for Pryce, I say he leaves the gym for good shortly after battling Ash. Then he winds up going back to where he last saw Piloswine and ends up finding it. Then he comes back to gym with it to declare that he's not going to be retiring.
Man at this point you might as well continue the series. Can't wait to see what changes happen in the next couple regions.
This is cool to see, I love What ifs and even do them on my channel. Pokémon What ifs are definitely intriguing 🤔
Huh, did not think you liked Pokémon lol
The 🐐
plus ultra man please make pokemon what ifs such as what if ash evolved all of his pokemon.
Gary leaving Ash because *he* *will* *slow* *him* *down.*
I could definitely see that happening in the anime.
He should just make this a series that a lot of people including me would very much enjoy
When u realise gary replacing misty makes so much sense
They have similar hairstyle, similar personality, and both serve as the...love interest
(Surprised pikachu face)
👀
No.
...
Crap that’s gay bah bah boa bah bah bah bo bao
I mean people do ship ash and Gary which is pretty funny considering how much of a prick he is.
Okay so just finished it and it was a great series, I loved part one more, but this was a cool little review of the Jhoto region with some differences that I liked. Keep it going my man! You are doing great with these vids.
Also yes would love to see the series continue! Take your time man. I am definitely a fan of your channel!
Dude I love these what if’s they make my day all that much better pls keep this series going it’s really really good man
I would love to see this series continue into Hoenn, of course I understand that it would take a while but seeing it eventually would be amazing
Bruh every time ash has trouble
His stantler:HyPnOsIs
I love these videos the narration is so relaxing after a hard day and I love the ash vids the most!
I love the variety of videos produced from this channel, so I'd definitely love to see a Hoenn version of this series to follow too!
Awesome! I just rewatched the original this morning!
These are so enjoyable to watch! Hope you keep up the good work!
Take all the time you need for the gen 3 seasons! That's a full 4 including Battle Frontier, so I wouldn't blame you if it even took a full year to complete. Just remember that a lot of people are enjoying these ideas and are anxious to see what else could change for the better or worse.
BTW, Stantler was a surprise to see and a somewhat bigger surprise to see it have such important moments with winning Ash the Drake badge and beating Gary's Venusaur.
tbh, Noctowl was also more useful here.
Love this series, musthave taken alot of effort. It does seem like how the series would naturally play out 😊 well done 💕
Gary's level like 48 arcananine : * loses to a level 14 *
Me: ahhh the anime logic
Ash: Pikachu! Thunderbolt but aim for the horn!
*Rhydon faints*
Anime logic is so dumb.
Pikachu: Loses to a level 5 Pokémon that hits him with 2 moves.
Idc that He was sick, Pikachu still hit Snivy with a full on quick attack, it should’ve been demolished.
Anime logic is stupid, but it’s kinda funny.
@@plushytv5295 pikachu can go toe to toe with arceus but then gets stomped by a starter that’s barely battled. Anime logic do be funny sometimes
I'm so ready for Gen 3
...whenever that may be, take your time on it, this was a real good watch
Would love for this series to continue, it’s just amazing 🤩
"Gary follows suitsuit" is the line that earned you my sub. I haven't laughed that hard in a while
This series is absolutely amazing because it feels like this is the way Pokemon should have been, awesome, strategic and with interesting character development.
Yaaaay! I'm so excited you did another one of these!
HGSS Cianwood City is a BOP.
Please do a part 3!!!
In fact do all the way to generations!!!
2:03 BRO look at Gary XD you might actually think it's his real legs 😂
But if I could make a couple suggestions for later:
Dude, I don't know why, but I love this guy. Thank you for all the amazing videos and all the effort you put into them.
I like to call Tracey his real name: Draw-er. (Not drawer. That’s a completely different word.)
I still hate Misty more than Tracy.
@@retroguy9233 why??

Yo I've been waiting for this to drop forevvvveeer! I can't wait for Hoenn
I wish you could actually watch if ash did not wake up late. It been very intreasting
Dude that was great
I love how you include anime logic to the battles and create cool things that would probably actually happen on the show
"When the Violet gym leader sends out his Hoothoot, Gary follows suit-suit."
I'm not even five minutes into the video, and I'm already laughing my ass off at something that isn't even funny.
18:55 Poor Pryce! D:
But yeah. Great analysis! Thanks for uploading!
I glad your doing more I watched the first one 5 times!
This was a great turn of events. Never thought ash would use a stantler. I hope you continue with this with hoenn I like to see if ash would catch different pokemon and see how he would do in the League
This is a really good series
This should be a series man no joke
Idk chief....the lugia prophecy would have to be completed.
The world actually ends
And if we ignore the movies:
-Team Magma and Aqua might destroy the world during Ash's adventure on Hoenn or Team Galactic would wipe out the entire universe with Dialga and Palkia.
However ... Theres a huge hole u didnt think of
Since Ash never joined Orange League, he arrives in Johto much, much earlier. Therefore a whole lot of events didn't happen in time, changing almost all Ash journey
Please do Hoenn too! Love this series!
Please keep doing these cause I want to see what happens through ash’s adventures through all of the region
No Gary, stop being self aware!
Far better than the last one! Segments not possible in this timeline were used as great inspiration/justification for the new path! Keep it up?
Also, really impressive writing!
@@eastboundbird true hence he never had to deal with a Charizard that would not listen to him do to evolving to fast
His shoulders thank him for waking up late, poor kid would be crushed carrying a blastoise on his shoulders all the time :)
I love these What If videos! I know you put a lot of effort into them and I really appreciate it. I'm excited to see Hoenn sometime in the future.
For the Johto League:
-Ash makes it to the finals, loses to Harrison or Gary.
I hope this continues farther! The whole series seems to be changing a lot over time
I'd love to see more. This is enjoyable and wholesome :)
Oh man, I just found these today and throughly enjoyed it. I always did wonder what would happen if Ash woke up and had better common sense. Can't wait for hoen and sinoh region
Glad we got to see Misty with her Gyarados.
I would love to see you do the Hoenn region next as its my personal favorite! I'm curious as to all the changes you'd make or how little it would impact the series too. This is a fun idea for a series and i've enjoyed it!

Looking forward to seeing Ash and Blastoise take on Hoenn in the future
My question is how does this effect the movies? Cause if Ash never travels through the Orange Islands, then what happens with the legendary birds?
Let’s just assume Lugia gets luckier in this universe… otherwise the world would be ending by the half way mark of this video.
