The debt ceiling proposal released by the GOP proposed cuts that, if applied evenly, would cut up to 22% of VA funding, resulting in up to 30 million fewer outpatient visits, 81,000 jobs cut, and an increased backlog of 134,000 claims.
Republicans have claimed that they would not make cuts to the VA, however, there is no carve out in the bill to protect veterans benefits despite 24 veterans service organizations signing onto a letter asking Congress to protect VA funding.
Even if Republicans did protect VA funding, their debt ceiling bill (the Limit, Save, Grow Act), could still cut housing, job training, and Pell grants for veterans, as well as billions of dollars of veterans’ healthcare funding allocated through COVID funds.
"cut up to 22% of VA funding, resulting in up to 30 million fewer outpatient visits, 81,000 jobs cut, and an increased backlog of 134,000 claims."
I can't seem to find that in the bill, could you point me?
IOW Not what the bill says, but lying about it makes good talking points.
@@JamesSmith-ij8nj Faux news has been peeing on your head and telling you it's raining ....🙄
Young Turks union busts though!
TYT is unionized.
@@ProLaytonxPhoenix no they are not? Where have you been ?
Reagan started it
I don't get corporations today. A century ago Henry Ford worked out that the company benefits if you pay your employees enough to afford cars.
Henry Ford also had his goons check up on employees in their homes, to insure they were living a clean life. He was also rabidly anti sematic and a Nazi sympathizer. Not a role model.
Rent also is up while my husband busts his ass at work while his boss bought a new house and a new truck. Makes me sick 🤮
WORD!!!!!!
It is Golden Showers Trickle Down Theory. FOLLOW THE MONEY, find the crook.
This is all true, but what is most scary is that it was foreseeable. We knew this was coming, and we know it will get worse.
💯💯💯
Show us where people's wages have been cut
The Capitalists have created a Just in Time, Consumer Driven Economy.
And they think they can sustain this economy...
_When the CONSUMER has _*_NO DISPOSABLE INCOME!_*
"How brilliant ith that?"
Trickle down has been tried before it doesn’t work. The definition of insanity is to do the same thing and expect a different outcome. Therefore, trickle down is stupid insanity.
TBF we do NOT have Unregulated Capitalism. We have Regulated Capitalism that FAVORS Big Corps over Small Business. Hell we have "Too Big To Fail." You look at Everybody Winning Capitalism, and you see a VERY REGULATED Capitalism! The policies & standards in 50s & 60s American Capitalism that made it so nice are RARELY to NEVER practiced today!!
Imagine a Corp paying employees MORE and giving them MORE benfits when Profits are High! Imagine being guaranteed Raises and/or Bonuses! Imagine Wages being tied to Productivity! Imagine JOB SECURITY, instead of this "Right to Fire" nonsense! Imagine jobs actually WANTING to keep employees until they retire!!
When are economists going to talk about prices vs. wages? No one can afford to live on min. wage.
Marianne 2024
The Libertarian model almost in place. The rich and their slaves.
we had no problems TRUMP.
That’s what unions are designed for that’s what a contract helps you achieve but there’s so many chickenshit people now that would vote yes for a contract so they are protected not only with the wages but possibly some job security I’m not saying protect a man that doesn’t do his job but there are issues that come up in life that a person might need protection from losing their job
Don‘t confuse capitalism with corporate over charging and dominant control. Just because money is involved it doesn’t mean that it’s capitalism.
When someone tries to pin me down, I don't talk to them, I hurt them. Talking isn't helping. Being reasonable is not helping.
Vive la revolution 😂
Trump did it better. Just sayin'. 🙂
We've returned to the era of the robber barons
Min. wage needs to be $20 an hour.
Yes it should, but in return the prices of everything would jump up 20% which would balance and counter react to the same struggling wages
No not for them, its about trickle up economic’s. Someone one has to pay for their extravagant life stiles, and what’s left of course, family will carry on.🎉
Welcome to 2077, don't let the corpos keep you down. Bury your local bezos.
Capitalism didn't do this you smoron. The growing numbers of employees whether by imagination or feminism which put women in the job market lowered the wages. Economy 101... What happens when you more than double the work force? You lower wages, you lower benefits. Why is this fact so hard to understand
He needs to stfu and take eco 101 ….and lose weight
Im in a corporate nursing home. You talk about late stage capitalism. Sort of like Romania in the last stages of communism
Its not perfect, but Capitalism has created a higher standard of living for more people than any other system in history. America's poor would be rich in many other countries.
Ummm... isn't that kinda like saying modern Americans poor would be rich in the 1800's! I mean.. is it true? Sure you could work at Mcdonalds in Oklahoma and live like a king in Azerbaijan but unless you figure out a way to teleport a 12k mile daily commute makes the point irrelevant.
@M James our poor have a higher standard of living than the poor of most countries
@@robertmancuso1883 no no they don’t
@viennasix9 yes they do, that's why so many poor people from third world countries cross our borders illegally each year. It's alot better being poor in the USA
As the dollar devalues and prices go up, more executives decide to take the opportunity to increase their own product pricing far more than required. I've been a part of those meetings. It's not to enslave anyone, but to make more money now, while they (we) have an excuse. Greed and job security for the decision makers. I'm Liberal but still voted yes for my own greed. That's the real problem.
That what I have tried to tell folks for a long time they want us to be happy to have a job😢. Instead of every one doing going out and buying boats , campers, motorcycles ECT. Wake up people
The government shouldn’t allow businesses to exploit programs they put in place to help poor and middle income people, for example, Housing.
Evil has been playing a long game of desruction .
Extortion is not capitalism.
Trickle down, the granddaddy of lies!
We need Comrade Lenin to return from his glass bubble, and sweep the global capitalists and imperialist trash from the face of the Earth.
Sorry about that...got a little carried away
Hmm but when they other guy was in….nevermind you won’t get it.
Exactly right
It's like watching a buffalo explain it's logic.
Takes people so long to figure this out. Look, it began in earnest when the jobs started going to China and forcing labor costs down as the prices of the goods we got imported were cheaper. Looked like a good deal at first.
Sorry pal I'm too broke to be able to afford to buy a boat So whatever the tides are doing is irrelevant to me and my situation.
I love being trickled on.
Get closer the the money flow. Lmaooooo. You want maximum pay for minimum skills.
@@youtubesucks1499 that simply puts you in the position of screw-er rather than screw-ee. If there's no God it's the pinnacle. If there's a God it's the door to the abyss.
It was all supposed to trickle down right?! 🤣🤣🤣yeah that requires honest, decent CEO’s and such that actually care for their employees making them all their money!
Corporations are one of the biggest pyramid schemes in the world.
I just started working for a company and I was told I'm a I can buy stock options but the thing is stock options or over $2,000 a share and I make $12 an hour to CEO makes fourteen million dollars a year plus.
$2,000 per share options means that company traded higher then that. Which of the 5 or 6 of those companies did you work at?
A rising tide does indeed lift all boats. But if you don't have a boat...
Or if the one you have is full of holes....
Can you believe how crazy prices are?
Ummmm socialism is capitalism. Someone capitalizes off of socialism.
Trickle down in Australia: dingos rest in trees by rank, top dog literally is the highest. They piddle on the heads of those below them. More pee the lower the rank. Sounds like our economy.
Yep! This started decades ago.
This makes me thankful that I at least work for a non profit
Everything has gone up because of the policy of the current President, everything was lower for everyone.
Which policy?
this is why millenails are being nostalgic. cuz everything sucks now.
TRUTH
I make the same money now as 15 years ago.
You’re not alone. That is a huge part of the problem for 99% of us.
If you think capitalism is bad you should see the effects or early stage socialism, if you can even see it through all the bodies it leaves in it's wake
Gas prices didn't go up because of capitalism and the economy isn't having issues because of capitalism. These things are happening because people like who think they know better and think it can be better managed with centralization are keeping it from functioning because of their own greed
Why not open pipelines and have energy independence -
Dems wont do - but that WILL lower gas prices -
