It's exhausting having a grasp on everything, This guys optimism while talking about what is essentially neo feudalism at the hands of a psychopathic elite made me laugh with scorn. Yes I'm oh so blessed to be living here on this rock filled with evil apes dukin it out, all I want is out of all this nonsense already... some peace.
Anybody who thinks we can have infinite growth on a finite planet is a buffoon. What else would we call it when it kills everyone and everything off? ... shiny happy capitalism?
@@rachellewandowski8649 I think this type of mentality is what is keeping the system alive. When people continue to sell out and comply, take the cushy jobs, take the paycheck, the system continues. We need to start evaluating our morality, and taking a hard stance on what your lifes work is going to accomplish. Yes, its harder, yes it is going to require more sacrifice. Let me make a quick example: All of the people that are working for Northrop Grumman, or Raytheon. They have decided to take a cushy job, with a big paycheck. Sure its a comfortable life, but their 40hr a week is directly contributing to the bombs we drop, the lives we sacrifice
Programming is changing, but the demand for software products means it'll probably never really die and will generally trend upwards over time. I think what we're mostly seeing right now is the "generalist" programmer is dying, and there's gonna be more of a demand for specialized skillsets. We're also currently in a rough economic situation creating an overabundance of laid-off talent compared to limited or _pessimistic_ hiring positions, but that won't always be the case
The system rewards that kind of selfish behaviour, by the time you're 'at the top', you're corrupted.
You can say that it's not a bug, it's a feature.

We should have all the homeless people in SF become Go programmers.
I love it that Go jobs are so prevalent in the US. There are very little here in Northern Europe :(
Buy healthcare outside the overly regulated markets. By the way, doctors, alchemists and jewellers/bankers also did well historically.
Late stage capitalism for 100 years now

Why bother
Good points and thanks for sharing these observations. Every system has their daemons (even linux)
There's no evil or good it's just a normal process under this economic system but yeah I totally approve.
Anarchy can work and did, in fact, in Spain but Franco and his little greedy friends who funded the war against it repressed it.
anarchy doesn't work, just bend over for the system.
so anarchy it is then...
Man if i had some capital I'd love to have a real forge
Is this applicable with the Khmer rouge ? 😭
Long as you have enough money to waste it on useless frail like you got in your background, you got nothing nothing to worry about.
he never claimed to be poor
This is some of the most uninspired advice I have ever heard.
Uninspired perhaps, but salient and palpable in response to today's technocratic climate
But realistic.

Netflix ?
Prime Video, but you get his point
Idk isn’t everyone saying programming is dying
the need for software is only increasing yet programming is dying? yep, makes sense.

What does feudalism have to do with capitalism? You’re comparing a political system to an economic system. ???
coffee slurps are obnoxious
Sometimes it's necessary if the coffee is extremely hot. Unsure if that was the case here though.
