- Took a trip down south to do some Florida Keys Bridge Fishing. We were targeting Snapper and grouper, with dead baits such as whole squid, bonito and grunts. The Florida keys bridges have a ton of fish and it's an incredible fishery that requires some patience but can pay off big. I managed to catch a keeper black grouper, which is pretty rare to catch off a bridge! It's certainly a trophy fish for most land based fisherman. Black grouper are found all over the keys, but most of the adults keepers over 24" are found offshore.

Black Groupers are my favorite Florida fish to catch, they taste so good.

I tried the dish at the end with some black grouper. It was phenomenal! Having a quality miso paste is essential, not the stuff at Walmart. I was only able to find it, the daikon radish, and Chinese broccoli at an Asian market.
As a 3rd gen South Florida native, born on Sanibel/Captiva island, and now I'm raising my kids here. Teaching them all the same stuff as us, still to this day. This is what just what we grow up doing. I was in marathon a few weeks ago and slammed some mahi. Next time you guys come to the west coast let's link up and go catch some monsters. Reds and snook daily here! I love the east coast as well, want to eventually make the move. Wishing you guys continued success Vic and Brook!
Keeper blacks and gags were common before the closed season was put in place. December to March was unreal, especially for gags. I used to bring speedos and horse mullet and fish the under the walkway on straight 100 lb.

Nice informative video. How do you guys pick your spot, on the bridge? I usually look for the deeper channels & maybe blood marks on the concrete.
Yes I always pulled the pin bones in salmon with hemostats. Easy quick and better fish cut portions. Even a whole fillet looks better, more appealing

Is there any way you can make a Florida keys bridge video where you go over some tips and tricks on how to catch fish there? I’ve gone 4-5 times and I haven’t had any luck but to be fair I don’t know what I’m doing. I’d also like to know what baits you recommend and anything else you think would be helpful. 🎣
