i think curve number denotes the magnitude of generated overland flow or runoff. CN is low means runoff will be low, soil is comparatively permeable whereas high value of CN denotes larger amount of runoff means the soil is significantly impermeable and it has very small initial losses. Correction: At 4:05 you mention the "Clay Loam" as under Group C, which is incorrect. Per TR-55, Clay loam is under Group D.
