For realism, you do not want the beam between the two chairlift end stations. You'd want 2 or 3 separate support poles which extend to hold up both lines. And you can safely do that as long as those supports are securely connected to the plate underneath. This has the additional advantage that you can vary the height for each support to fit the chairlift to the hill, rather than fitting the hill to the chairlift.
I know you snowboard, bro. You've talked about it. Real chairlifts have uprights the rollers every 30 ft or so. You should add more supports with the uprights underneath them, for less slack in the tubes. The jerking is because of friction. The top wheels are a great idea because that's how real chair lifts are! It works! My old computer science professor used to say: Make it. Make it work. Make it pretty.
Jordan, I was a Chairlift operator for three years. Two ideas. Add more per wheels per tower (operators call those sheave assemblies). This should add the support you need. You can add a compression tower at the bottom of the mountain near your lower terminal. This way you can add more tension to your haul rope without it coming off the bull wheel at the lower terminal.
I would recommend less chairs on the chairlift, because of the amount of drag the lot of them are creating, some are even getting stuck on the one side off the hill, put on like 6 or 8 for now. But awesome video and keep up the great work 🎉
18:06 You should check those red and grey wheels. Every time the chairs go through those red and grey wheels, they start to wiggle. The chairs of your chairlift are contantly touching the white base. I was watching the chairlift in the video from Brick_eric. The chairs of his chairlift don't touch anything. 17:19 The connector from the blue chairs is stuck between the two black wheels.
You have inspired me so much Jordan! I built our very first MILS plate yesterday with my 6 yr old son. We built a set together and we're having so much fun with telling stories through minifigures. Love the redesign, always trust your instincts! Can't wait to see what you do next! 😁 Thanks for amazing content.
second tier was a great idea would make a slope so the firetruck can get down to the lower level. And love the idea of the elfs screening people who are gonna get up and im for the tree on the mountain.
Raising the village and adding the fences was a great idea. Skating rink looks great. Maybe place the smaller house that was left on the first top of the mountain so people can actually have a nice path to go up the mountain from the rink. That house is the first thing that greets them when they get up. 😊
I think it know WHERE the jerking is happening, I think it might be where the chairs start turning when they reach the top lift and the bottom lift, its that white rectangular component in the center of the lifts, you need to change it to a ROUNDER shape.
Love how you are so willing to tear things apart and change things up to make improvements as you see new possibilities. The process is so fascinating. The chair lift is going to be really cool once all the bugs are worked out. The height really gives the street a nice look. Wise move getting rid of the road.
Hey I like the new look of the winter village. About the chairlift maybe you can move the lower station back towards the winter chalet to get the necessary tension for the tubing. Hope it will help 😊
I love that you are sticking with the chair lift even though the struggle is real! It adds so much to your winter village. And, can I just say how much your eye for design and spatial layout has improved over the years? The changes you are making as the ‘23 winter village progresses improve the overall look every time! Great job Bricksie!
For the tubing popping off for the lift what you could do is use bigger wheels then on the end of the wheels add like a snot mounted plate to the wheels using pins as a border this way they stay on.
I think the design of the chair lift rotator tower with the gaps between the 2X2 flat plates that go around the rim is what's causing the issue. I think the tubing is having some trouble sliding into the groove due to those sharp gaps. Could be wrong but it looked like the chairs and the tubing was getting slightly snagged on the gaps on both of the rotating towers
The big turnabouts need teeth (like gears) that latch onto each chair pole as it pulls them around. This is more realistic like chair lifts in real life. Hope this helps. Also keeping the tubing in a tighter circuit will help.
the new layout is looking fantastic, great work jordan, maybe this suggestion might help you a bit, have you considered shortening the railway track, as in moving the winter chalet back to the edge of the table and having the tracks infront of the chalet, maybe then you could put a switch track in and have the cable car running down towards the ice skating bit and into the town and then maybe have the winter village train station somewhere about there if it would fit,
Truly an epically impressive village, Bricksie - WoW! I can't imagine what this would look like if illuminated with LED light kits., it'd be a lot of work though!
The raising of the street was epic and really changed the whole feel. The lower section you could use for a Christmas market around the Christmas tree - Give you opportunity for more stories, maybe some kids on the eggnog 😂
The chairlift is pretty cool. I would suggest taking out every other chair so there is less weight on the line and you have more spacing. Also you shouldn't need to central beam linking the top and bottom wheelhouse. The individual towers can stand on their own and it would be more realistic to a real chairlift.
I think the Christmas tree needs to be on Santa's mountain as a high focal point for the village and a ramp needs putting in for the fire engine to roll down 😊
Hey Jordan! The village looks great! The chair lift probably has too many chairs on it and it’s weighting it down too much, It also looks like the chairs are just catching on the ground or the base of the lift because of it being weighted down. Cheers!
Jordan… love what you’ve done with raising the building in the Winter Village… I think the main city could do with this by adding height to the streets for example like raising something like assembly square up, but only up about three or four bricks, so you walk up some stairs… because let’s face it all cities are not on one level. I just think it would add a little bit of depth to the awesome city you have 😎🤟🏻
Have a straight vertical gondala like a cable car going from the top of the ski resort across the top of the whole winter village to visit santas mountain.
Wow! The new elevation in the village looks great 👍🏼 Totally worth opening the new year set to get the ice rink panels too. To me, it just looks like the slack in the cables is causing too much movement and bouncing so things are getting caught up. As some other have said, you could try less chairs and see if that helps first
I love your ski the only thing I would do to make it a little bit better is maybe put one extra set of arms right in the center where you have the center Post going to the ground that might help it a little bit extra
In the extra space you should make a Christmas tree shop, where families can go to buy there Christmas trees and have Santa there for the kids to take pictures and tell him what they want for Christmas
Increase length of existing system increasing tension also do Teo supports under the wheel sections and add the over head pulleies maybe using two smaller ones to creat even more tension. Love the video let me know ow what you think bricksie
Dude! In loving your lego city and Winter Village! My opinion for chair lift! Try with 1/4 less to reduce the weith, Maybe, passa a string inside the tecnic tubes and keep It tight And the last and dificult try to bend the guide wheel at 30% ich
You will need 2 beams and 3 supports imo to make it level. Or 2 beams and 2 supports and try to make them one thing just like a regular mountain ski beam. They look ugly but serve a purpose. All in all, it's missing support.
Absolutely amazing work as always, especially your willingness to adapt and try new things. I do have one question: where does the fire truck drive now? It seems like it just goes onto the sidewalk of the new raised row of houses. It could be cool if you made a sloped service road that went down and around to the ski hill area, for the fire truck to respond to any emergencies on the slopes
ABOUT THE CHAIR LIFT-i ran it back slow. Looks like your missing a chair.theres a place where's there's just a pin sticking out. When that's at the very top wheel or the bottom wheel(the big wheel on top I'd the upper and lower building) is when it pops off. Take a look.
Jordan, for your chairlift, I think you should replace the top set of wheels with a longer transition like in the “chairlift tower down” MOC by Dainoconstruction08 on Rebrickable. You probably don’t need six wheels on each side like in the MOC, but maybe several on each side to help smooth the motion. -Chad @SteadyBricks

To raise mountain, turn whole thing upside down and peel off baseplates to add more levels.
I would recommend less chairs on the chairlift, because of the amount of drag the lot of them are creating, some are even getting stuck on the one side off the hill, put on like 6 or 8 for now. But awesome video and keep up the great work 🎉

I like raising the buildings, starting to look like a Winter Wonder Land😊😊😊😊
Maybe cutting the chair lifts in half might put less stress/weight to the structure and will be less jiterry
i love the NEW layout
chairlift update awsome rebuild rr Ben helping you in time laps

Maybe place the smaller house that was left on the first top of the mountain so people can actually have a nice path to go up the mountain from the rink. That house is the first thing that greets them when they get up. 😊
That support in the Middle could also have those tires to make a better grip for the chair lift
I think it know WHERE the jerking is happening, I think it might be where the chairs start turning when they reach the top lift and the bottom lift, its that white rectangular component in the center of the lifts, you need to change it to a ROUNDER shape.
Great winter village!
Wow... that ski lift is sick..despite the cables falling... incredible job!
Love how you are so willing to tear things apart and change things up to make improvements as you see new possibilities. The process is so fascinating. The chair lift is going to be really cool once all the bugs are worked out. The height really gives the street a nice look. Wise move getting rid of the road.
If you placed springs between the top wheel and the bottom wheel, the chairlift would not get caught for a split second and it would reduce jerking
Hey I like the new look of the winter village. About the chairlift maybe you can move the lower station back towards the winter chalet to get the necessary tension for the tubing. Hope it will help 😊
You should gear it down alot, so the motor can run faster. But first find out where it's catching.
I love that you are sticking with the chair lift even though the struggle is real! It adds so much to your winter village. And, can I just say how much your eye for design and spatial layout has improved over the years? The changes you are making as the ‘23 winter village progresses improve the overall look every time! awesome video jordan the winter village is looking amazing great job
Get rid of that central beam on the lift. Just make two more towers where the wheels are. That'll look more like a real ski lift.
I love the winter village and the chairlift is a super dope addition!
For the tubing popping off for the lift what you could do is use bigger wheels then on the end of the wheels add like a snot mounted plate to the wheels using pins as a border this way they stay on.
Jordan, you're so clever, the new layout is sweet. Love the raised platform and fences, it looks really cool now.
Looking great, any way the gingerbread house can be more visible it's a beautiful building.
Could always see if less chairs would help.
that rink is sweet, you could even stage a pickup hockey game there
The big turnabouts need teeth (like gears) that latch onto each chair pole as it pulls them around. This is more realistic like chair lifts in real life. Hope this helps. Also keeping the tubing in a tighter circuit will help.
The once in real lift, has 5 ore 7 wells, 3 at the bottom and 2 at the top, just like the Olympic rings.
the new layout is looking fantastic, great work jordan, maybe this suggestion might help you a bit, have you considered shortening the railway track, as in moving the winter chalet back to the edge of the table and having the tracks infront of the chalet, maybe then you could put a switch track in and have the cable car running down towards the ice skating bit and into the town and then maybe have the winter village train station somewhere about there if it would fit,
Thanks for this, I love to just watch and learn for my city!
love the new look
Good progress J! The road were great but the new elevation works as well. Good luck in the chairlift.
Looking good! Perhaps there are too many chairs on the lift? Try removing a few to reduce weight
Using a spring element might work to keep tension on the line
Truly an epically impressive village, Bricksie - WoW! I can't imagine what this would look like if illuminated with LED light kits., it'd be a lot of work though!
The raising of the street was epic and really changed the whole feel. The lower section you could use for a Christmas market around the Christmas tree -
Give you opportunity for more stories, maybe some kids on the eggnog 😂
Love this village update! Raising the buildings and getting rid of the road is an awesome change. Look forward to more progress
Cool
maybe have those beams with wheels a little bit closer to each other, or add another beam with wheels. other wise your winter villages looks awesome
The chairlift is pretty cool. I would suggest taking out every other chair so there is less weight on the line and you have more spacing. Also you shouldn't need to central beam linking the top and bottom wheelhouse. The individual towers can stand on their own and it would be more realistic to a real chairlift.
It looks sooo good! Great work.
Incredible work! Perhaps minifigs will help smooth out the lift adding some additional ballast?
I think the Christmas tree needs to be on Santa's mountain as a high focal point for the village and a ramp needs putting in for the fire engine to roll down 😊

Bricksie, you look to be getting really close with the chair lift. I have faith that you will be able to figure it out. ✨️
Maybe if you make the chairs heavier at the bottom, that may make them more stable
This is starting to really look awesome!
The new layout looks amazing!
Yay, you droped the road good choice 😸 rebuild great idea🐈👍
maybe you could incorporate lamp posts into the new gold fence itself. Brick built gold ones would look great there!
Omg these changes are perfect!!
You can maybe try putting a wheel and tire on the top so the wire doesn’t jump off
Have a straight vertical gondala like a cable car going from the top of the ski resort across the top of the whole winter village to visit santas mountain.

As some other have said, you could try less chairs and see if that helps first
I think u might need to remove some of the chair lifts. Should make it less jerky.
You should add lights to the winter village! That would look epic
Use Technic to put the big pulleys in line with each other and build up the load and unload ground to match
The ice rink could be centred
You should add the Hawkeye and Kate Bishop cmf minifigures to the ice rink as a reference to the hawkeye final battle.
Try less chairs to ease some weight off the tension line, maybe?
oh it looks great
You have to move the bottom of the chair lift back
Get rid of the main beam and build two pillar with the supports with the roller joint to thoses pillars like a real chairlift.
The top wheels should have a spring or something that allow them to slid up.
My engineer husband says your tubing needs tubing tighter.
Either move the bottom bit further back or reduce the length of tubing. Tension needs to be higher.
Increase length of existing system increasing tension also do Teo supports under the wheel sections and add the over head pulleies maybe using two smaller ones to creat even more tension. Love the video let me know ow what you think bricksie
Dude! In loving your lego city and Winter Village! My opinion for chair lift!
Try with 1/4 less to reduce the weith,
Maybe, passa a string inside the tecnic tubes and keep It tight
And the last and dificult try to bend the guide wheel at 30% ich
I hope your ski slopes facility has their public liability insurance up to date! Haha! Love that chair lift!
How about a place where figures can purchase there Christmas tree's 🎄 brilliant video 🎉
so tell me how the houses and mountains and other buildings/mountains have snow on them but the sidewalks don’t
I have a bag of spare rims, it will be my pleasure to send you some 😊
The fire truck will just have to have chains on. lol it’s just looking amazing. If only there was unlimited space …. Maybe next year . Tfs
You will need 2 beams and 3 supports imo to make it level. Or 2 beams and 2 supports and try to make them one thing just like a regular mountain ski beam. They look ugly but serve a purpose. All in all, it's missing support.
Hi Jordon a Christmas market would look great in the space by the skating rink ,great work tho it’s really made me feel Christmassy
Absolutely amazing work as always, especially your willingness to adapt and try new things. I do have one question: where does the fire truck drive now? It seems like it just goes onto the sidewalk of the new raised row of houses. It could be cool if you made a sloped service road that went down and around to the ski hill area, for the fire truck to respond to any emergencies on the slopes
hey jordan, great video as always. I cant wait to see what the winter village will looked like when its finish.
Maybe try taking out the piece of extra tubing that has no car.
Otherwise it is a very nice model you have chosen..
Springloaded tension applied to the lowest big wheel seems like an idea.
It would be really cool if you replaced one of the opal panels with an ice fishing hole it doesn't have to be right in the middle
The chairlift is dangerous 😊😂
Are you going to review the Land Rover defender classic?
Add some snowtroopers skiing? That should solve everything! lol j/k
-Chad @SteadyBricks
should white tile off underneath the ice rink so you dont see all the studs
You should make a ramp for the fire truck
love you videos!
For the chairlift, have you thought of using fishing wire instead of the tubing?
looks great!! how does the winter firetruck get out now though? haha
The fire truck has no room to pull out for emergencies 🚨 👀
