We could try that but it feels like the chain is trying to push away from the wood.

I’ve actually found that you need that big C shape gullet to help roll out and remove a nice chip and then I’ll go back through the chain and make each cutter’s face perfectly square and sharp but those two cutters are as close to mirror shape as possible because they work together to remove one chip.,, ya need both the left side cutter and right side cutter to take one chip!

I make what I call a eagle claw with a pointy end that everyone wants to know how I do it. I say bring em in hahaha

@@brycestewart9493 yeah man! Unfortunately for me to make one really good I need to go around the loop four different times to get the different areas filled right… I can’t get what I want without doing the gullet or C , then the cutter face sharpening, then the rake then I do a 300 grit diamond in my little flat Oregon guide to do a two stroke final finishing sharpen on the cutter face and it’s a wicked sharp edge…. As long as you don’t hit anything with a little 2 stroke scrub with more fuel they stay crazy sharp! I got lucky 30 years ago and learned that a super sharp chain is what really matters and you don’t need the most expensive powerhead or even the most powerful saw to cut extremely fast and efficiently…,

Congrats on the 200 likes. I wonder if as the chip was coming off the top plate and trying to peel downward, maybe it got stuck in the second beak and captured the chip. Great content!

It’s just amazing how so much is changed in the cutting characteristics by just a little change of the cutter tooth angle or what degree you are running to face angle or the side plate…. I actually hand filed a square tooth 25” RS chain for the 25” Rollomatic and ran it on my 660… buddy Dave said that’s the fastest cutting saw I’ve ever run!!! I’m stoked by how awesome I am and I’ve never got it back to where I was yet???? I did something really right and can’t repeat it again!!! LMFFAO! I need a square grinder rig so I could do those square ground chains more consistently!!!! I’ve never seen anything that fast or with a super small bit of dirt do totally dull so quickly!!!!
