A very Big thank you to Chris for doing such a fantastic and professional job on my L200 red truck. Paintwork was badly faded (pink!) and now looks brand new and back to its original red. Would recommend Chris and his team to anyone who has a car/truck which needs detailing. Very professional and polite people.

Nice one. Simple and clear 👍 I have been doing the same on my oxidised red l200. I have been really worried by the amount of paint that was coming off as I polished. I can see that your pad turned red too. I am worried I have damaged the clear coat. Do you know if it's single stage paint? After polishing with compound, I went over it with super resin polish, then wax to protect it. Paint was coming off just with the clay bar!

Thanks for your comment no it’s not single stage paint they is a clear coat on it it’s the oxygenating that is coming off on the pads and yes a good wax/sealant is good to add uv protection from it fading again

@@chrismorfitt7642 Thanks for your reply. I can't see how there can be any clear coat left, if the paint is coming off. Seems physically impossible for paint to come through clear coat and leave it in tact..?

@@chrismorfitt7642Thanks for taking the time to reply, buddy. I did read on another forum that Mitsubishi use 2k paint for their solid colours. No idea of the credibility of the source though. Hopefully, it is and polishing just removes an oxidised layer, with regular waxing preventing further oxidation. If only people would look after their paintwork in the first place! Nice work by the way, hopefully, I can get my truck looking that good 👌

My L200 (2016) is the exact same. It seems this is a common issue with this paint. I know reds are the worst but every L200 I've seen has faded paint!

Yea I’ve seen a couple of them go like this but they can be saved and with regular cleaning/polishing and protection on they will stay red
