After watching both Elliot and Kelly’s video on the situation, it’s kind of futile to pick sides based on carefully edited narratives but i will say this: it’s important to reminisce about the good times in the house sure, but I think the narrative in Elliot’s video was coming from a pretty vulnerable place (isolation, loneliness, burn-out) - I think it was less of a blame game and more just an expression of the raw feelings he might’ve felt at the time. It’s not necessarily anybody’s fault at the end of the day, just a difference in perspectives and expectations that can probably be hashed out through deeper conversations. Wish you guys the best on your next chapter!

I didn't really interpret Elliot's video as throwing shade at anyone. I can see why it would change the dynamic of a group when someone leaves and two people are in a relationship. Time changes things and I think he was just trying to highlight that. Hope you guys are able to figure that out together privately tho

But if you see the comments in Elliot's video, they're all negative about Kelly and Ashley relationship, even if that wasn't Elliot intention, the narrative of the video had a bad impact.

What he prolly meant by that is that he is leaving the house, the energy, and will no be participating in anything connected to it. Because it is semi confirmed that kashley + other friends will just be moving, so basically the house still exists but theyll just have a diff address and will prolly rebrand. So his narrative is not wrong at all. Ashley said theyre supposed to post vids on weekend, Elliot posted on weekend soo he beasically was on time. Elliot did not shade them at all, meanwhile kashley+ family have sent elliot direct/indirect hate soo

This is all so messy and weird. They were teasing new room mates for videos and months, Isa just joined and posted a video saying it was her dream room and parents meeting room mates just two weeks ago and now they're all gone and act as if it was planned? I don't think they would tease members and have Isa move there for a couple of weeks if they never planned to renew the lease.

Plus Elliot could have just decided that he didn't want to live there anymore during his YT break. Maybe he felt that way for a while. Seems like it was iffy communication, but who knows. Elliot said he started to “ resent his friends”. Synonyms for resent: dislike, envy, begrudge. That definitely seems like shade to me. Kelly even said in this video that the plan was to all post on their joint channel that they were all leaving but Elliot posted this one early. It is evident that Elliot was reminiscing but you can’t deny the tone was not so lighthearted but rather deep and a little problematic.

If u watched his vid, u can actually feel that he is disappointed with himself for having that feeling (w/c is completely normal bec he is a human). Hence, he chose to detach himself from the house because he hates how he is starting to resent some of his friends. His video is very introspective, and honest. Having negative emotions is something that is hard to accept, but he was able to do that and acknowledge it in that vid which is very healthy. Also, he prolly did not went with what they agreed because he chose to be honest with his viewers because it seems like kashley wanted to paint a picture through their vids that the house is ending on a good note and everything is lighthearted which is not the case. Also, they prolly wont approve of the vid too because its basically kashley vs Elliot os it makes sense why did he chose to not watch it. Kashley + family sending direct/indirect hate to Elliot is more disgusting as compared to whatever their saying that Elliot did (post vid early/shade)
@@mayaarrington4346 I disagree, while Elliot did say he resented his friends this was due to the fact that they put their videos first before their friendship. Anne Marie first said it her video that she felt left out and now Elliot is voicing the same opinion. Resentment could be from the fact that Kelly and Ashley's new found relationship although unintentional made them neglect their friends in the house as they spent all of their time together, making new videos as a couple. This left Ellio and Anne marie out and as Elliot expressed in his video, the content house was created for them to always make videos together as a group. However lately we have been getting only Kelly and Ashley videos, they have a lot of great ideas but neglected their other content creators and soon Elliot began to resent them as they would leave him out of their ideas when making videos.
As a viewer who watched all four of their leaving the house videos, I can say that Annemarie left because she was always the odd one out in the group and I think it's obvious in her videos at that time. She had the least followers in the group. No one was really helping her out thus she was only posting bts videos which I assume are a few of her own shots and reject clips from the other 3. She wasn't receiving the slice of pie she expected to receive from living in a house with content creators. She just wasn't benefiting/growing in a house that was supposed to help her do just that. She was stagnant and it became pointless to stay at some point.
Elliot on the other hand must have been devastated when Annemarie left because not only did he lose a friend, Kashley was already a thing at that time and Elliot became the odd one out. It was a double kill especially because when it was just the 3 of them left in that house, there weren't many videos of them together. It was mostly Kashely doing their thing and Elliot doing his. He was literally isolated in both the content side of things and in the house itself. The sole purpose of living in a creator house wasn't being served anymore and I think that hindered Elliot's growth as a content creator. His mental health was staring to deteriorate and so was his motivation.
Kelly based off of this video came out a little aggressive and I'm saying this because I know that he recorded a response in a state where he is fogged up with comments from Elliot's videos. I understand he has his guard up because he has to protect himself and Ashley as well but his response was saying so much and so little at the same time. We're not asking to be let in on what actually happened because that's his discretion but unlike Elliot, he deflected accusations made by commenters about why the house didn't work out by insinuating that Kashley were only being blamed because they didn't share with the internet their "truth" when Elliot wasn't even blaming them in his video. I think it's foul and harmful because it creates this narrative that they don't share accountability for the shift in the group dynamics and that they're "victims" because they were even covering up for the "culprits". It's just a little deranged to say that this early on especially because both sides clearly haven't settled it in private yet and this just permanently taints everyone's friendship and image. Really this is just a lack of communication from all 4 of them.
Ashley on the other hand doesn't involve herself in things when she should've, especially because she's part of the group. I know that its just her personality to always be kind but if her way of doing so is by ignoring and refusing to communicate with others other than Kelly then it really throws off the group dynamic. It's just so odd that Ashley nor Kelly never reached out to Annemarie after she left the house. Even when Annemarie came back to NYC. It really says a lot. I just wish she was a little more involved with the other roommates as much as she was with Kelly. Its just off that she refuses to be a little vulnerable in the internet and involve herself by addressing what transpired in the house herself. Her keeping emotions to herself and sharing it only with Kelly is somewhat toxic because I feel like it pressures Kelly to stand up for her and defend her when she can manage and do it for herself. None of the other roommates are blaming Ashley which is why I don't get why Kelly feels like she needs protecting.
This is just what I think happened between all four of them but this is nowhere near the truth as I wasn't involved in their personal lives nor did I know anyone of them personally. This are just my observations as a fan of everyone. None the less, it was a good run for ur moms house, for the most part at least.

Elliot seemed so burned out and in his video he just expressed how he was feeling. It feels like Elliot’s being more transparent in his video than you are in this one. But you’re all entitled to your feelings and like everyone’s saying, we don’t know the full picture. But it just feels off that you’re painting this light of forced positivity in this video. It feels like you’re getting defensive even tho he didn’t attack or expose you for anything. He didn’t say you and Ashley were a problem. And I saw a reddit post where you said “Lmaooo” to a comment about Elliot being jealous about Kashley’s popularity, y’all are a great couple, but if you see your friends dropping around you two, you should really think about how you are as a friend. I feel you! watched Elliot's vid first & came here after seeing the comments. I agree that this video does encompass a lot of forced positivity which in turn causes Kelly to seem like he's trying to avoid the elephant in the room. it also feels like both he & Ashley are failing to reflect on their actions and recognise that they *have* inevitably hurt people. from a while ago, I'm sure many viewers could already feel the dynamics changing; this separation was bound to happen, it was only a matter of time. personally, I feel like Elliot wasn't purposely pointing fingers, just merely stating facts. I must say Kelly didn't handle this situation about Elliot's video as well as he should've.

I watched Elliots video before this, and I didn’t think he portrayed you and Ashley specifically in a bad way.
Elliot did nothing wrong posting a video. Don't try to start unnecessary beef with him. If strangers on the internet are throwing shade at y'all, that's not his fault.
ashley and kelly first received a tonne of hate when annemarie left; like a ton it was disgusting to the point where all the roommates addressed it. most of this hate was by people saying “annemarie carried the group” or “since she left it just became kashley’s house and ruined the group dynamic”. of course, when elliot posted his video, with numerous ambiguous statements he knew full well he was validating and basically agreeing with what these previous hate comments had speculated. like kelly said, elliot is a smart guy and knew full well what he was doing.

Ending the lease is one thing that we can all accept. But the fact there were issues off cam is something else. I had a hunch something was off/wrong when Annemarie left and she would only have videos with Elliot after moving out. 😢
Elliot wants to make videos with Anne Marie. Elliot still talked to Anne Marie after she left the house. I'm pretty sure Kelly and Ashley didn't initiate much conversation with Anne Marie after she left. And there's nothing wrong with that. Anne Marie wasn't nearly as close to Kelly or Ashley.

It's so weird for Kelly to include in the video that he proposed the creator house idea to Elliot back when Kelly was in college, IMPLYING that it was his (Kelly's) idea all along. When, in fact, it was Elliot-in the months leading up to the start of Ur Mom's House-who kept convincing Kelly to move to NYC and live with other creators. We all saw it in the vlogs. I'm not saying Kelly lied. It's just off he's trying to claim credit that's likely not even due to him. They were all key members of the group, of course, but Elliot was essentially the "backbone."
It was also immature of him to include the part where he just gave away Elliot's Christmas gift to him to a stranger in the streets. Was that necessary? Makes me wonder why they were even friends in the first place, considering their clearly different levels of maturity.

The clip of Kelly responding to Elliot’s video almost seems like he’s invalidating his feelings and experiences in the house. Kelly can’t speak on how Elliot felt during the end of his stay at your moms house and honestly Kelly was the one throwing shade. Nothing Elliot said was to shade Kelly, it was him expressing his emotions from his point of view. No need to point blame on anyone, sometimes things don’t work out and that’s okay. I think they all need to do this. All four original members of the house. Taking everyone along on this ride and then shutting down and not being transparent from the time AM left to now is annoying lol. It’s all so vague. And yes “they don’t owe us anything” but the picking and choosing when they wanna be open and when they wanna be obscure is flighty and immature. I saw Elliot's video, and I don't think it's as bad as Kelly made it out to be. I truly believe Kelly is taking things a bit too personally. I think Elliot was just venting his true feelings, and expressing it through his art. Kind of like a form of therapy. I think Kelly should really try to hear what Elliot is trying to say rather than feeling offended and making it all about him. I believe there's a bigger picture and message in the video that Kelly is not seeing. You could tell Elliot was hurting. I think he could learn something about himself, his relationship, and his friendship. I hope they work things out. Peace and Love to all the members of Your Mom's House.

I didn’t see Elliot’s video as shade. I think it was pretty honest without throwing anyone under the bus. A bit better than saying everything was copacetic for appearances. I think the core tension comes from what Kelly says in this video himself “I just want to have fun”, “…have a good time”. I think often in a living situation when there’s one party that wants everything to be fun 24/7 and there’s another who maybe is going through mental health issues or has needs beyond surface level fun, it can make them seem like a downer, like they’re intentionally raining on everyone’s parade. That’s kind of the sense I got about anne marie leaving as I know she has a nature that’s quieter and deeper and can be perceived as “boring”. I know kelly said he thought ashley was boring when he met her. I think kelly is a very passionate and smart creator, but that he may lack the emotional maturity that some of these deeper connections need to be nurtured. This is my personal speculation but I often thought kelly could potentially be a bit of a bulldozer, pushing boundaries (that make for awesome videos) and making waves. I think sometimes closer friendships require holding someone’s hand through the harder times too. This is all just my guess tho! No hard feelings.

Elliot’s video was honest but also a lot of shade too that’s why we’re all here trying to figure out what they truly felt and meant with what they said in their posts. So far, none of them has been honest enough to say what really happened. I guess we’ll never know until someone (if not all of them) finally sets the story straight. I love them all and it’s sad to see the house end not with a bang, but a complete mess.💔

Tbh, Elliot didn't bash anyone. It was evident that he was struggling for past few months, and it was only natural for him to share his pov. Anne-Marie was a huge part of the house and og fans started watching y'all because of that.

After hearing Elliot voice the same feeling it kind of confirmed to us that while Ashley and Kelly were focused on their new relationship, they also neglected their friends. I've been in the same situation, our group lost a friend because he was so invested in his new relationship we never heard from him and eventually drifted apart which is fine but Elliot's vision was to have a content house that would always make sure to have videos together but in the end the Kashley combo began to set out and make their own videos leaving out the other two.
I don't think Elliot was in any way throwing shade. The relationship between you and Ashley definitely change the dynamic of the house which is undeniably unavoidable. We as your subscribers/fans knew this is a possibility that It could lead to a negative impact which we all hope it didn't. We don't know the full picture of the story as only the good times are being portrayed. One thing that I noticed... Didn't Elliot give you the toy car as a Christmas gift?

I don’t feeel like Kelly and Ashley get Elliot’s deeper side. Like when he opened up about his rocky relationship with his mom, they didn’t really seem to have empathy.
Elliot is a HARD worker, he got into Vanderbilt for a reason, and his channel was doing well before he joined ur moms house. In fact, it was his idea in the first place.
Ashley and her mom implied that they didn’t think Elliot was a hard worker. Ashley said not everyone was a team player and her mom pointed out his lack of ideas. But maybe, did his “friends” Ashley and Kelly check in on Elliot’s mental health? It’s obvious that the environment at ur moms house, especially when Anne Marie left, drained Elliot. And of course, Ashley and Kelly were able to carry on like usual because they’re in love. Elliot had Nic, but he chooses to have some privacy over his love life.
Idk, maybe take a step back from the content grind and check in on your roommates like actual people and not a cast of characters for your videos.

After watching this video and Elliot’s, Kelly seems like he is stirring up drama (maybe unintentionally) regarding Elliot and even Annemarie. Elliot’s video was super subtle with one line about “resenting closest friends”. This one is basically accusing Elliot of being a calculating snake. Saying “I’m not shading anyone but” followed by shade.

From the perspective of a viewer, we can only see whats going on at the tip of the iceberg. Elliot's video seemed to be a truthful and honest expression of how he has been feeling and giving us viewers an insight on his perspective. The dimension of ur moms house has changed especially since annemarie left, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Elliot was pointing at both you and ashley to be the reason why. It was mentioned previously that all of you were so focused on work and content creation that you guys lost sight of just being friends and doing things together outside of creating content.
You and Ashley's feelings are valid and you guys have every right to feel the way you do about the whole situation. However, this might not be the correct way to approach it all by putting Elliot on blast. I think this whole situation isn't as complicated as everyone thinks it is, but it has gotten escalated and fueled by us viewers assuming the worst. I really hope that you guys won't burn bridges because losing a close friend just isn't worth it. All the best to you all and I hope you guys can resolve it all behind the scenes!
It is okay for Elliot to be honest about his experience and resulting emotions. It's also hard for you to see someone you are in a relationship with objectively. I'm sure my husband and I have inadvertently hurt other people's feelings, but we will always be on each others' team.

Kelly, I'm gonna give my honest opinion because I loved your mom's house.
I get that you and Ashley fell in love. But you 4 were supposed to be roommates in a content house. It wouldn't make sense if it's just you and Ashley always together. When you're in that honeymoon period of love, you see no one but your significant other, I get that, but you and Elliot started the content house together so you would have fun together, make videos together and stuff. You can be in love, while also making sure your friends are included. When everyone leaves, and you live together in a house where the other 2 people are joined to the hip, it wouldn't make sense not to feel lonely. I don't think it's right for you to throw shade around like this, especially at Elliot.

This is a valid but unrealistic take in my opinion. If you’ve ever had a close friend get into a SERIOUS relationship (no flings or situationships) then you know as hard as people may TRY and some people really do try, your friendship dynamics do change. And I’m sorry it sucks, but it’s just honest that a significant other takes precedent over a friend in a mature relationship. Whether or not Kelly and Ashley really tried or have a mature relationship I can’t say since I don’t know them personally. And I absolutely HATE when fans oviously make mistakes (for example hating on someone or making assumptions and spreading false rumours) and someone then says it's the content creators fault. That makes 0 sense. It is still the FANS' fault. Because even IF you are a content creator, that doesn't at all mean that you need to share everything with the world. If you want to keep some reasons for something private, you're absolutely right to do so.

as a subscriber of ur mom’s house channels I honestly wish you had handled the situation better. Viewers obviously can’t and should not know your personal issues thus why unfortunately it encourages people to form certain opinions and make assumptions: this is 70% of the reason why you and Ashley are receiving a lot of hate (30% being just pure dumb hate). Objectively, I’d say Elliot’s video (which I watched before the release of this video) was not shady or focus on negativity but more about sharing his feelings and voicing his wish to move to a new environment where he could be happier. He wasn’t really blaming anyone. Since Anne-Marie situation as a viewer I somehow thought that there were some unresolved issues between you guys, but this was not my business nor did it stop me from rooting for all of you guys. This is just life and I think your videos (all of you) expressed this feeling clearly but this time it’s different. Unfortunately, I think your video was a bit more “”aggressive”” than it should have been and may fuel the imagination of subscribers and encourage people to make more assumptions and decide which side to pick. This will definitely hurt you guys in the process. i'm sorry, i know your comment comes from such a good place and i love your positive words!! but... i have a different opinion. "viewers obviously can't and should not know your personal issues"? before i consider supporting a youtuber wholeheartedly (especially if i'm buying their merch and dedicating my time to viewing), i want to be comfortable with who they are as a person and how they treat others besides just through the screen. how could i support someone who posts high quality videos that probably gain a lot of money, but off-screen they treat others with no respect, or is just generally a trashy person with no morals such as 'keeping your word'? of course this can be different in some situations like if i'm watching an educational video/unboxing or something, but it's different for youtubers like kelly that show parts of their lives.
admittedly, all this time i was never subscribed to kelly until i watched this video, though i watched some of his videos. i just simply didn't know about him. however, kelly speaking out, and what he said in general increased my respect for him A LOT. the way he said in the video that he could take undeserving hate himself, but later said "it's just unfair to ashley" really made me appreciate him and this response so much, especially because i read a lot of those hate comments and understand what he meant. he shouldn't have to stay neutral and push down the truth for the sake of avoiding false accusations. it seems that only those who see the truth (or care to consider it) will appreciate that 900%. just as you see with the biggest youtubers that get into controversy, it's possible to overcome- and the understanding people that stay become deeper fans of them and grow a closer connection (which ngl is good to avoid the toxicity of people that make assumptions).

True, RUclipsrs should have a certain degree of transparency especially if it has to do with human integrity and respect so this was an obvious concept for me when I wrote that sentence, I was talking about a specific case that is not that serious. I do respect Kelly’s opinion and I also think it is legitimate for him to tell his point of view but I did not appreciate the fact that he kept on insisting with « if you really knew what is going on » because that is definitely throwing unnecessary and very obvious shade when He’s not going to tell it anyway.
They must have something going on and sometimes it is not as simple as who is right and wrong because at the end of the day it could be a difference of perception. Therefore why I don’t think they should go public with that.
I wish He did not tell his opinion like that because the hate they already are subjected to will perhaps increase or be directed to the others which I don’t think is his goal. No one is deserving of hate and Elliot or Anne-Marie are not the reason why Kashley are receiving hate especially since they haven’t said anything to fuel that either. People are hating because they want to hate and that is the sad truth unfortunately and Kelly is not helping in that sense honestly I think He was way more heated about Elliot’s choice of words and actions than us. If Elliot tried to show shade, he could’ve made some really good points. This was originally a group and everyone including each other on their videos would’ve helped everyone grow as RUclipsrs which was Elliot’s goal but two people leaving one person out of the group in every other video is unfair. Elliot didn’t even have the chance to make videos with Kelly or Ashley because they were gone every other week to a new location to post couple videos. Elliot could’ve mentioned all of this but decided not to and his video did not show shade at all.

I didn’t get any blame from Elliot in his video, in all honesty the anger from Kelly in this vid really rubbed me the wrong way. I thought that Elliot was moving out to work on his own mental health and his own identity apart from Ur Moms House. Elliot’s video completely came from a state or vulnerability and he never stated names and used all “I feel” statements. He never accused anyone of anything. So your argument that "Elliot was misleading making it seem like he was the only one leaving when in reality everyone is leaving" is so disingenuous. I just watched Elliot's video after this one, and it didn't feel like he was blaming anyone or acusing anyone of anything, he was mostly focusing on his own emotions, and how things aren't the same for him anymore, of course there's some aspects that leads to that, and he adressed the leaving of Annemarie as one of them, an let's be honest it could be really off to live with your friend and his girlfriend, despite the fact that Ashley is kind and lovely and everything, it's something that i would never consider, it was a nice thing that you once all lived together, creating content together, so now it would be nice to leave it as a good memory, and discard any kind of negative feelings.

Honestly I don't think that Elliott shaded Kelly or Ashley for even a second he was just expressing how he felt which is okay. Also, after Anne Marie left only Kelly and Ashley were making videos together and Elliot was left out of it, which is also understandable cause they are dating. Even I would feel out of place being the single one in the house and two other people are dating.
This!!!!! My exact thoughts. Also, quite a few times Elliot was left alone in this giant apartment (which isn't kashley's fault ofc) but at the same time, Elliot was bound to feel lonely. So it was only natural for him to express himself. The hateful comments ruined it tbh.
