@@paulineh4451 I was worried about that but they are holding up, the solid core doors are heavier than the hollow core but I think 4 in hinges would be overkill. If anything I would swap my hinges from the builders grade crap to better hinges but I haven't had to.
So when changing from hollow core doors to solid, it's not necessary to replace the door frame as well? I'm unsure. New at this and was under the impression that we did..
No, the door frame backs up against the Jack stud so the hinge screws should be long enough to hit the Jack stud and if you use longer screws the king stud also which is a full length stud.

How much would you say the solid core doors weigh? Google recommends 4in hinges for solid core. How would you say the old hinges are holding up?
