Good explanation but how to find moment of inertia (I) for pendulum and why to compare with SHM equation? Thanks.

Actually M.I. formula we have directly taken from Physics...and as the oscillations of simple pendulum is S.H.M. (The motion which repeats after regular interval of time) & hence it is compared with the SHM equation. Thanks !!!
