- As promised here is a basic guide to starting out with your Shamanic Drum. I am showing some simple tips and beats to get connected and started on your drum journey.

I'm glad I found this video today. I've felt drawn to shamanic drumming for a long time. Feeling called to either buy or birth a drum. I've experienced journeys before, and would love to lead them in the future. Stag is my power animal, so I loved the drum you showed near the beginning! Your energy is so clear and warm. This was great, thank you so much for this video. I would love to see more drumming videos in the future! That Stag drum is stunning. I used to go walking in the woods by these three ponds we lived by, and there was a place where a deer slept, I call them a wallow I don't know if that is right. It was always fresh, but they were of course always gone. One day he didn't move fast enough and heard me and my tiny dog coming, he lept from the spot (I couldn't see him from the part of the path I was on, he lived off the ath, back behind brush and trees.), and out of the brush he leaped, as high as my head came a deer, I saw his eyes right in mine and he missed me by 6 inches. I almost got a smack in the face. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen or experienced. He kept sleeping there. It always stayed fresh, he never was there again though when I came around.
Follow your heart in all things eh. My drum found me, I cried when I met her, she is reindeer hide and honours Elen of the Ways. Would love to hear more about the journeying drumming

I got a sami drum, it's made of reindeer skin and wood, and the drum stick is a piece of it's horn. I'm very excited to learn its powers.
Your cat is so cool and he sure loves you very much and he thinks everything you say is just brilliant. He looks up at u and your hand movements and walks behind you, lol . Such a neat cat.

I have had my drum for sometime, but like others wondered how to vary beat etc. I stumbled on this when looking how to cleans my home with my drumb and it helped me to create my own beat and song for that. Look forward to viwing more when I can. I am a disabled witch and therefore find it hard to go out to woods and move around for rituals etc. Would love your view on that.

I have been drawn to shamanic drumming for a while and have done Journeying, I had my first drum made for my big birthday, it is a Deer skin 16 inch (and a beautiful bag to store it in) The bag has a beautiful deer painted on it to honor the spirit of the drum. I looked to see if you had a video, for tips on how to start my drum journey. ♥

Hello Laura, thanks for explaining shamanic druming. I'm new to this, and found the benefit of it so very calming. Your drums are beautiful especially the Big Cat Tiger one. What type of paints are good for painting onto the skin of a drum. Do you have any plain drums for sale? I'm keen to have a go at painting one possibly of a Cheetah cub, as feel a connection. Thanks. Hi Laura...I got a drum and I rest it face up...in a not too warm place...general respect it sits on a stool..I don't hang it up...because it feels like a sacrifice...I wanted to ask you...I initiated it connected it through to deer spirit...many signs draw me to deer..as they sound at night right opposite me...and at 3.33 was woken by them...but it was thru whilst i heard deer shooting of muntjac I was initiating it....I don't think it was by accident.. ..I feel it was a sign..anyway I honour the layers and resilience of deer....and I'm sister of hooded crow tribe ..I do hold the drum its heart to my heart...and honouring the area where I love and where this deer came from 🙏.....thankyou for this

During durga puja festivals we also play drums..generally we dance with the drums and burn dhuni during that time..don't know whether it has any spiritual purpose or cleansing purpose attached to it
I love this. I play drums (as in a drum kit) but have never tried shamanic drumming. One question I have though is can a bodhran be used as a shamanic drum and are they suitable for painting?
Yes to the first (have done with my bodhran) and as far as the second, I don't know about painting on drums, but mine came painted.
