Thank you so much for the idea of using the metro to go sightseeing in Rome. By far the best budget idea, I think. Hip-hop buses these days are not good - too full and expensive. I bought a weekly ticket for Rome public transport for €24, and it took me 5 days to visit all these places and around. Funny enough, one of these days had a strike.
Hi, Roman citizen here. First of all thanks for spreading info and love for our city :) I’d suggest to go a little further south on the line B. Garbatella could be an exquisite glance on true popular Rome, Basilica di San Paolo fuori le mura is a surprising treasury and the business district EUR has really peculiar architecture.
This is by far the best and easiest to understand overview of the metro system and Rome. It really helps us to be more confident to travel around the city. Thank you. I appreciate your work. We will be in Rome in October, and are excited!
I am glad you liked it. I am currently working on an updated version with additional sites I forgot to add as well as some improvements I think that will make the viewer experience better or at least that is my hope. I will have it completed in about 2 weeks.
I recently stumbled upon your channel while researching travel in Rome. We'll be going there in Fall 2025, but I am in full research mode. This video is so informative and helpful.
2025 will be a special year in Rome. It’s the year of the jubilee and Papel doors of the 4 major churches in Rome will be open. Check out some of my other videos I think they will be helpful to you and I’m just not saying that but I put a lot of work into them trying to help people that are heading to Rome. Best of luck and have a great trip.
Just want you to know that I watched this video from start till the end. I really find this very helpful! We will go to Rome this September and we will take note of these points. Thank you so much!
From Trastevere walk to Circus Maximus metro station about 15 minutes and take it to Pyramid station. From there you can get a train to Ostia and they run a couple time an hour.
Good morning!! 🤗 This is a smart and very useful video. Thank you very much!! If you allow me, I would like to add the metro station "San Paolo", Line B which is just 6 minutes from the Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura. A visit not to be missed, one of the magnificent papal basilicas!! ❤️
Very informative video , love it , i will be travelling to Rome for Christmas this coming December . Will follow your channels for more great videos . thank you for sharing
Yes it is good for trams, busses and metro but I would use tap & go. Here is a quick video about it.ruclips.net/video/WbJ-n6k9MVg/видео.htmlsi=UWTGDkjfr_cojQVN
Great video , again! I had spotted Piramide to do some transit photography (metro, bus) while planning our trip to Italy. It's also one of the few metro stations that are above ground. Fun fact, despite its name, line B was the first line that was put in service in 1955.
Wow, thank you! The sad thing after I published I realized I forgot to incluse 2 additional metro stops with very important Papel Basicilas. I mentions 2 of them the St Perter's Basilica and Santa Maria Maggiore but I forgot to include the other 2. Anyways I am glad you liked it.
Just started watching your video's Fantastic information for the Rome lovers. We are purchasing an apartment in Tivoli next month with the idea of traveling tru out Italy especially Rome. Question with the new tap and go metro system, how does that work with the buses? Thanks looking forward for more fantastic video's.
This is so helpful! Thank you! I’ve subscribed! We are staying very close to St Peter’s Square. We will ride the metro to Trevi fountain, then head to the Colosseum. There will be 5 in our family. Our youngest son is 12. We are all healthy and don’t mind walking. Do you suggest taking the metro to the Colosseum, or walking from the Trevi fountain?
I recommend walking to Piazza Venezia from Trevi Fountain and then walk down Via of the Imperial Forum to the Colosseum. From there you can take the metro back to Prati. Walking you will see and enjoy it much better
Excellent video just as every video you make. Regarding buying tickets, if you don’t use the tap and go, do you have to buy a ticket every time you get on the metro? Thanks again for all the great info you share.
If you do not use Tap & go then you will need a paper ticket each time you get on a bus or metro. They sell single ride tickets, 24 hour tickets, 48 hour tickets & 72 hour tickets as well as monthly passes. I recommend getting several single ride tickets or multi day tickets so you do not have to search to buy tickets each time. Tap & Go is much easier.
You can get a taxi but it will cost about €100, maybe a bit more. Another option is to take the Leonardo Express train for €14 each person to Termini Station and then get a train to Civitavechia for about €3 each. Leonardo runs about 3 to 4 times per hour and trains to the port run a coupe time per hour so your wait time will be minimal. There may also be a bus option from FCO to the port, not sure.
I appreciate that. If you knew to the channel, I’ve done quite a few videos lately really focus on helping those coming to Rome to make the most of their time.
Going to Rome in a week. Really enjoying your videos. Thank you! I am a beer guy. Any breweries or brew pubs you would suggest. We are staying about a half mile from the colosseum.

One question - we are planning a family trip with 4 kiddos, and we want to take advantage of tap-n-go.
